What a rip off. Just took a 3.2 mile journey and was charged £25. When I spoke to the call centre, the reply I got was “it was an out of scope journey (away from Reading) and you should have asked”. If it came with an extra charge, surely the company are obliged to give that information. Complete con, as the reverse journey with Urber was £10. Do not book this rip off company!!!

We were driven brilliantly yesterday. We booked last minute for an emergency 11 pm Gatwick collection to Oxfordshire - our plane was delayed. Great comms, smart driver, a beautifully clean car, no music, excellent driving despite all the diversions and roadworks. It could not have been better.

Got my car cancelled because of late arrival. I did not receive any call on the day.

I have used Top Cars for the last 10 years for holiday airport transfers and been perfectly happy. today will be the last time I use them. My last trip we were on our way to Heathrow and the driver didn’t seem very steady. We realised he kept closing his eyes! We mentioned it to him and he said “it’s just the way my eyes are”. This was rubbish as every time he closed his eyes his head would drop and he would swerve. I should have made that my last trip but as if not had an issue before I booked transfers with them for this years holiday. Driver to the airport was fine, driver coming today was horrendous. He is English was awful, he was rude, he told me he was 10 minutes from the airport and we could go to him or we could wait and he would come to the terminal. What?! I questioned how we would go to him if we had no clue where he was and he shouted “I already told you I’m 10 minutes away”. I told him to come to the terminal. I have never been in a car with such a dangerous driver. We already knew the cost and had the £135 ready. We gave no tip and told him to count it but he said no and drove off. 5 minutes later he rang me and said we had short changed him by £20! He was politely told to count the money properly as we knew exactly what we had given him. He then said “fine I pay the money out of my own pocket”.

Top Cars you need to think very carefully about who you employ as drivers

Used them for years, and they used to be good, but they bluntly lie, saying there are no drivers for small orders for an order placed 9 days ahead. When you call and pretend to go to the airport, they have a driver available.
I am going to avoid this short-sighted company.

Have used Top Cars several times now for airport transfers and have been impressed by the great service, spotless Mercedes cars, polite & safe drivers.
They text you the cars location and ETA and are ontime.

Thoroughly recommend this company and will use them again for more planned trips.

Worst app ever, doesn’t work. Tried to cancel a ride and it just fails. They charge you anyway. Rude customer service, avoid at all costs

We hired a taxi from Reading to London Heathrow airport the day before we departured in the very early morning at 6:45am. However when at 6:30am the driver called us said he was in our destination London Heathrow airport, we are so confused and we hired the taxi from home to airport but we are 100% sure they changed our journey reversely, because in their app it asked 'where would you like to go' we absolutely selected LHR but we definitely never ask to go home when we are home, as the departure from is automatically selected by our current location like at home, we have no choice to select from LHR to our home in fact using their app. Then we were in a rush and they asked us to book another taxi from Reading to LHR and we did, that means we paid almost double money ₤120 just for taxi from Reading to London Heathrow airport. We are pretty sure their administrators changed our route reversely and they firstly deducted £56 from our credit card, and we then paid another £60 to the real driver who sent us from home to LHR in the car when arriving LHR. What's worse is they also never sent us a confirmation email for the journey once we booked the journey one day before we departured, but when we chat with them when we have been to the airport to express our angry and concerns, just after the chat they sent us a confirmation email while we have arrived in the airport after the double pay, it's really cheating and disgusting! We asked for refund but it was rejected it's unfair we paid double money for single way, we should capture the screenshot for the evidence we booked the taxi from home to LHR but we haven't we are so regretful, but when we checked the app they have changed our journey reversely. So they can easily change your journey reversely without letting you know, without confirmation email, but when time comes they tell you the driver is in your destination, and you have no way in order to catch the flight you have to book another right journey from home to airport. That is so ridiculous I doubt this company is a fraudster and they steal money from travelers in this way. So avoid it every travelers!

polite, punctual and truly professional. Smooth
comfortable drive with great consideration for
passenger comfort and easy conversation too.

I have used this service for many years. They have in the past been friendly and reliable. Sadly this is not the case anymore and for some time now they are unresponsive and unavailable! You call and ask for a taxi, they ask for details (in my case is around 4-5 miles) they then have nothing available and hang up! It seems they would happily take an airport run but will leave you stranded and unable to get home late at night! I will not bother calling them EVER again and unless your journey is £50 or more I wouldn't either. Terrible Top Cars!

Truly excellent service. We were picked up from Newbury on time in the evening, driven to our home in Winnersh in comfort without the driver once having to ask directions. A true professional. Already booked two trips over the Christmas season.

The man on phone was the rudest person I have ever spoken too I had to put the phone down . It was 11.15 on the 5th December 2020 . I have always been a huge fan of top cars now I wont be ringing again
