Ordered shoes and boots online from TJMaxx.com. They arrived packed in a plastic bag and the shoe boxes were crushed; fortunately the shoes were OK, But none of them fit. The website says returns can be made to TJMaxx stores, and that is more convenient than repackaging and mailing the items back. What they don't tell you is that if you have used paypal they will only give a TJMaxx store credit, not a refund to your credit card. Nowhere on the website does it mention this! And other retailers have no problem refunding payments made by paypal, so what is the deal with TJMaxx insisting that they can only provide a store credit? Didn't want that, so now I have to find a real box (because they sent it in a crummy plastic bag, totally inadequate for shipping big boot boxes!) and go thru the hassle of taking these to FedEX (at least they did provide a return label). I explicitly chose TJMaxx.com BECAUSE they offered returns to their stores. Given that I was misled about returns and refunds, and I drove to the store and waited in line at the store for 30 minutes, and now I have to package and drive the packages to FedEx this is simply too much of a hassle to deal with TJMaxx.com again. TJMaxx does not know how to do online retail.

I recently had a terribly unpleasant experience while trying to return a jacket at TJ Maxx/HomeGoods Chino Spectrum Market in CA. The associate I encountered, named Evelyn, displayed no greetings or smiles throughout our interaction. In fact, she maintained a poker face and exhibited a very bad attitude.
On 09/29/2023, I wanted to return a jacket that cost $200, and I had the receipt with me. However, what disturbed me greatly was that Evelyn and her supervisor started conversing in Spanish right in front of me. This behavior was highly inappropriate and unprofessional, especially considering they were aware that I did not understand the language. The implied suspicion and possible accusation of theft because of the jacket's high price made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. When I initially purchased the jacket, I was clearly advised not to remove the red tag unless I was certain I wanted to keep it. So, upon returning it with the red tag still intact and accompanied by the receipt, I expected a smoother process without these unjustified suspicions. It seems as if every customer is treated as a potential thief, which is wholly unfair.
Furthermore, I also attempted to return two additional items without a receipt. I was aware of the store's policy stating that customers without a receipt would receive store credit. However, Evelyn, with her unwelcoming demeanor, insisted that I sift through all my emails to locate that elusive receipt. Her unfriendly tone and overall attitude completely ruined the shopping experience at this establishment for me.
Overall, the level of service provided by Evelyn was far from satisfactory. Her lack of professionalism, inappropriate use of a foreign language in front of customers, and questionable suspicion towards me left me feeling utterly mistreated. Instead of enjoying my visit to TJ Maxx/HomeGoods Chino Spectrum Market, I was met with disappointment and frustration. The management of this store should ensure that such experiences do not occur in the future, as it only harms their reputation as a customer-friendly establishment.
TJ Maxx credit card the worst, online shopping cancels items alot
Coincidence? One of my large orders was just canceled. Every single item. The email said they could not fulfill the order...hmmn.. right after I left negative reviews on their online ordering and their synchrony mastercard credit card. Lol!! Jokes on them since they did me a favor in canceling all my items. Bad online ordering process with various items cancelled after, then the items showing in stock and a store credit card with ancient bad business practices. I hope their bank goes bust. I won't be shopping online anymore. It was good while it lasted and I did get some good deals but nothing I can't find elsewhere at stores with better service.

I purchased a curling iron and it was defective. I had it one week ( I returned to the store as soon as possible) with my receipt. They said that they do not take those items back even if it’s defective because it was “used” obviously it’s not used if it’s not working properly. I will share this horrible and unprofessional experience on all of my social media platforms and I will not be back. I’ve noticed that it’s not that less expensive on a variety of items. I’ll stick to Nordstrom and other respectful and fair companies.

Worst customer service by Vanessa in blossom hill. Rude, loud, embarrassing and unprofessional. So ghetto honestly. She shouldnt even be in McDonald’s because I’m sure they honor customer service better. Tj max should be embarrassed hiring people with this attitude towards customers.
Questionable sales practices.
My daughter made the mistake of purchasing a dresser that was damaged in transit to the store.
It had mirrors on each drawer. (1) drawer had a crack in the mirror but the drawer still functioned.
TJ Maxx offered my daughter 10% off and a “as is final sale.”
That is totally ridiculous. 10% off to buy their problem?
They also lied to my daughter and told her that the manufacturer will not allow anything more than 10% off.
TJ Maxx took advantage of a teenager. I called the store and demanded that they take their problem back…..which they did.

One of their shampoos I bought was falsely advertised as “sulfate free”. The product ruined an expensive treatment in my hair that required sulfate free shampoo. Even though false advertisement is against the law and a fairly serious issue the company did nothing to acknowledge their part in it and ignored all my attempts of contacting them to try get to a resolution.

Incompetent. Placed an order and received no confirmation email but the charge is on my card. Now the items I want are low on stock and I am unable to re-order. Their response. We'll look into it but it will take awhile. No, you need to get my stuff shipped out and send my confirmation email. I am filing a fraud claim with my bank.

Worked for this company for 4.5 years, upon leaving my then boss didn’t have the manners to say goodbye (I didn’t expect a thank you). Good riddance I say.
Fake not 14k solid Gold as Paid for
I was sold a Rachel Zoe Multiclover Necklace as 14k solid gold which was priced as solid gold $129.99 which was actually gold over silver and only retailing $59.99. I got duped. Counterfeit, fake gold. I only buy solid gold and due to not having the receipt of purchase 9 months ago, I only have the date and credit card I used. After months I finally saw it again at another TJMaxx store, priced correctly, and talked to that sales representative who mentioned that brand rarely sells solid gold and it was probably mismarked and to check the gold stamp. When I called the store where I bought it from twice and talked to the manager twice, he just said no receipt he couldn’t help me. this is serious that they solid me counterfeit fake gold. I am down $129.99 plus tax. I asked him if they could look at their records but nope. He said it is not them that labels the items but the distribution center. But the sales associate at the other store says it could be switched at the store if the store isn’t careful. Disgusted that I am down money for something which was sold to me as solid gold. Deceitful. Don’t trust you are buying solid gold gold just because they tell you and sell it to you at that price. Counterfeit. Dupe.

I don't usually write reviews but I was very impressed by the cleanliness, organization and especially the manner in which the manager was engaged with fellow staff and workers. He was very friendly, helpful and I saw such a positive environment in that store that I wanted to include my review on this site.

Bought a gift card for the Canadian stores directly on the website - no balance left on the card when the recipient tried to redeem. What kind of practices are you engaging in when the balance mysteriously disappears?! The gift card was purchased directly from the website and not shared with anyone.
A fantastic company
TJ Maxx is a wonderful company to work at (I worked there for five years prior to moving on) and a great retailer. I see some poor reviews here but most of them seem to be coming from misinformed or entitled people. Let me tell you a thing or two about TJ Maxx.
This company strives for great customer service while delivering great prices and high quality merchandise. Their product comes from some of the best vendors in and out of this country, including name brands like Gucci and Versace or Nespresso and Le Creuset, for instance. These brands would not have their product sold at a bad retailer as they strive for top quality, always. TJ Maxx employees deal with rudeness and adversity throughout the country, all year round. From theft, to crazy homeless people creating a mess in their bathrooms (that the employees have to clean), to customers who go beyond the line of unreasonable and rude, calling the associates names and even becoming physical. People have lost the sense of what’s right, wrong, and reasonable. People have also forgotten that companies have policies and that as much as there is flexibility, some times some policies can’t be broken. I applaud the team of all TJX companies for their resilience and hard work, and as a former employee Iwill say it was one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for. TJX nurtured my career and saw in me talent I didn’t know I had, offering me and other dedicated employees promotions and a path to success their benefits are tremendous and their care for their team is beyond compare. I stand by this company and hope these bad reviews can be seen for what they are.
EVRI courier service fails again.
I placed an on-line order (10/12/22) and my order was confirmed together with an "expected delivery date" of 5 days. Later it was confirmed that EVRI, the courier company would deliver my order on 14/12/22. On 12/12/22 EVRI advised that they had my parcel in their depot and would advise when it was out for delivery, on or before 14/12/22.
Many years of experiencing this company's delivery promises worried me and sure enough, they failed and no longer admit they have the parcel.
TJX were not able to help and refused to replace my order. They have agreed to a full refund but that is not a good Christmas present!!
The real problem is that EVRI are a dishonest and totally unreliable courier company. I recommend that anyone ordering anything on-line ensures that EVRI will not be the chosen courier company.
