Poor aftersales service, stuck with an unusable pallet truck which is brand new

We bought a ladder, it was completely different than the picture on the website where a grown man has been superimposed onto the ladder for measurements. Our mistake, we should have checked the exact measurements.
We wanted to return it, they told us we could do that within 14 days or we would lose our money. We would have to pay return postage ourselves and use 1 of their suggested parcel companies.
FedEx, who they used to deliver it to us, wouldn’t take it because we are not a business. DHL wouldn’t take an item that big and ParcelForce would charge £61 to take it. Those were the 3 companies they suggested.

We contacted The Workplace Depot for help and they told us, first of all you are running out of time, secondly that they were unable to help with returns whatsoever. They ended the conversation with, I guess you are keeping those ladders…

Incredible rude and unhelpful, we will never buy anything from them again.

Workplace Depot's Terms and Conditions contravene the UK Distance Selling Regulations, which allow the consumer to return goods without financial penalty within 14 days of purchase. Here's the blatant criminality copied straight from their website:

"12. Return of Goods
12.5 Upon return goods will be examined and if applicable a refund less the return carriage fee will be issued." ILLEGAL
"The Seller also reserves the right to pass on any costs the Seller is liable from the manufacturer or a third party supplier of the Goods." ILLEGAL

Increasingly cheap imported knock-offs and terrible customer service, this wasn't the case when Ken was running the company, just going down the tubes in recent years and we have now switched to other suppliers. Some of their staff even told us it was dire before they quit.

Really poor quality products, even worse customer service. Avoid at all costs!

I ordered something, they said they had dispatched, then they said they didn't have the product, then they did and they were sending it next day, then when it didn't turn up they admitted they'd given it to someone else after all.

I ignored bad amazon reviews, wish I hadn't- stay away.

This was the first time purchasing from The Workplace Depot and I am very impressed. They were the cheapest price I could find for the step ladders I needed and I received them the next day, what more could you ask for.

Got a work bench for a cheap price including free next day delivery. I was thinking maybe it's to good to be true. I read some of these reviews and wondered if I would recieve it and have any problems with my purchase. But no problems. Got email texts with all updates when it would be delivered. The item arrived in time and its a good product easy to set up. Would buy again. Only thing I could say is cart could be better when paying it wasn't as smooth and had to refresh page to buy. This may put buyers off.

Do not buy from this company.. I received a returned item. Half the contents of screws and such were missing. Very poor customer service. Stay well clear

Placed order, after approximately a week no order delivered, turns out they used a 3rd party to supply the item, tnen the item turns up, by which time we'd requested a refund, a full refund, despite emails, they say that they've had no contact from their supplier, well, our transaction was with this company, not a 3rd party, you wpd, should be refunding our money, not giving us the runaround saying your awaiting a response from your supplier... We paid you! We cancelled well within the cancellation period, stop the excuses and issue the refund, if no refund received by the end of the month, I will take you to the small claim court. It's your choice.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Desperately needed cable covers for an event. Ordered for next day delivery as advertised, as we needed the product for the weekend, we ordered on the Weds before. After paying, I was then notified that our cable covers would NOT arrive until the following TUESDAY which is two days after our event, too late to be any use. Now they have told us to pay for the cable covers to be returned before we get a refund, even though we cancelled the order and cancelled the delivery. They still delivered to the venue. So we paid. The products arrived too late. And we won't get a full refund as the return costs will almost wipe out any refund. Dreadful company. Avoid.

I purchased two whiteboards. The staff were very knowledgable and friendly. I was impressed with the quality and the speed of delivery.

Cheap imports and horrific mismanagement. Orders wrong multiple times, evidence of cost-cutting everywhere. If you want the job done right, get a different supplier. Best advice I can give.

Rubbish, the initial order was fine however upon delivery fixings were missing from one box. Asked for replacements which they sent to be fair but were not correct, sent them photos and advised I wanted the originals as the ones they sent did it work and holes already drilled. They sent another box of exactly the same fixings. I now have an angry customer and won’t be paid until sorted. Won’t be using again.

If you want cheap Asian import knock-offs youve come to the right place. The return policy was good at least so I could head somewhere else

I ordered a large metal storage cupboard to house the vacuum cleaner and a selection of cleaning products as our new house has so little storage space compared to our old house.

The cupboard was delivered the very next working day so delivery is very quick. Some of the metal parts arrived damaged and after a call to The Workplace Depot they sent me a replacement unit so TOP MARKS for customer services.

The second item also showed signs of being bent and damaged, so the courier had not taken very good care of the iten while in their care. I will contact the company to let them know that their goods are potentially getting damaged in transit.

Well done, and thank you to The Workplace Depot, but I'm hesitant to order more large items for fear of it arriving damaged or broken.

I am giving this review based on my contact with The Workplace Depot as what has happened to me was outside of their control so would have been completely unfair to penalise them for damaged items twice in a row.

They should however change the courier company ASAP.

I placed an order for a desk which was showing in stock and available next working day on the website, then had an email that afternoon to say it had been dispatched. After waiting in for the delivery, I had another email to say it it's out of stock and will be nearly two months.
When I called up to discuss, they apologised, but there didn't seem to be any sympathy or acknowledement that it was a problem - it was just the usual 'we can't change the system' rubish.
The same desk is still showing as in stock and available for next day delivery!?
A refund has been requested.
