How can a hotel have no butter and no green tea!!!!! There's a Tesco accross the road!!!

16 of us had the best time at The White Horses restaurant for my company Christmas party last night. Everyone in the party said the food was absolutely fantastic and good value.

The staff were very friendly and the service was also friendly and very efficient.

The ambience and décor are lovely now that the refurbishment is finished. The new place is absolutely beautiful - luxurious and unrecognisable from the old hotel and restaurant.

We will be back for our Christmas bash next year - can’t wait!

Would have given 0 stars for the food if I could. Ordered a burger
Could count the chips in a cup have more fingers on my hand
Burger was soggy No salard not even any lettice in the bun.

Better quality and a lot lot cheaper at McDonald’s
staff did not understand what a shandy was ! we had to wait over 30 mins for the food to arrive. Would not recommend the whitehorses will not eat here again Harverster offers better food.

Only given one star as can't give zero, had 2 adult and one child fish and chips today. AWFUL fish was 1mm thick and hardly there, batter was so big couldn't eat it

Beautiful hotel - fresh, modern and contemporary style. Situated in a charming little village full of character. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. I slept wonderfully well and awoke feeling fully restored and refreshed. And with sea views from the balcony. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was fun and everyone working here was friendly and professional-the whole placed exuded a calm, classical tranquility. The restaurant and bar area was welcoming and pleasant and stylishly designed. Spacious and airy. And the food was very good. Plenty of choice. All in all a very pleasurable stay.

My partner & I had dinner here to celebrate my birthday. We were impressed by the venue & the friendliness of the staff. Then it went downhill unfortunately. I had smoked almonds, which were delicious, & my partner had the soda bread with caviar, which he thought was bland.
For the mains, he had the chicken dish but he didn’t enjoy it as it was all tasteless. I had the spinach & pea risotto, which, again, was bland. I started to feel a little ‘off’ so suggested we left. But it was after we returned home that I had a violent reaction to the restaurant’s food - I spent all evening vomiting & having diarrhoea so that was a birthday ruined. I had checked all the ingredients beforehand & they all seemed fine.
I contacted the restaurant when I felt better to let the chef know but I had no response whatsoever.
