Professional registration process not fit for purpose
My experience with the IET professional registration process was extremely disappointing. My application took nearly two years, with slow communication and unclear, inconsistent guidance throughout.
The advice from PR advisors was poor—often generic, contradictory, and not tailored to my actual experience, which unnecessarily prolonged the process instead of helping resolve issues.
As a non‑British‑born applicant, I also felt that my experience was not properly understood or valued. While difficult to prove outright, the way my background was handled raised real concerns about bias and lack of inclusivity.
Overall, the process felt inefficient, bureaucratic, and unsupportive. For a professional body of this standing, I expected clearer guidance, fairer assessment, and significantly shorter timelines.
