This is the dirtiest gym in all of oldham absolute disgrace not managed at all

Absolutely poor service and causing inconvenience to members. Tried to cancel membership and it requires you to cancel the debit card from you bank account. I don’t see the point of having the option to cancel membership on the app then. Quitting as Gym equipment is poor and location is very poor.

Never fails to amaze me how spiteful some people are in 2025 reading some of these comments.This Gym is bloody great -for around 20 quid a month in today's world's its unbelievably good value.Top job guys and girls

Been going to this guy years since it first opened I payed a full 12 months up front and was in an accident i tryed to get my money back they said they don’t do that i told them I have to learn to walk again they said show me evidence and we will refund you I did they still will not entertain me so I’m on 11 different meds and I’ve told them this so anything happens to me i tryed to tell them

Gym wise its decent but today i recieved a parking fine from the gym group oldham as i went twice within space of 3 hours. This is honestly shocking, i have underlying health issues due to which sometimes i cannot complete a workout but i still try my best so later when i felt a little better i decided to go back to complete my workout. I am a paying customer i should be able to go to the gym as many times and whenever i can or want as its a 24 hours gym, so to recieve a fine for using the gym twice is so shocking. I will be cancelling my membership and moving to a different gym.

Top marks to Gillian, co-manager at Oldham. After experiencing a freak accident (lost my balance while tying my shoelace on the back of a machine), she drove me to Royal Oldham Hospital, organised a porter and ensured that I was registered with A&E before returning to the gym. This was way beyond the call of duty. She and Josh also kept watch over my car until I could get it moved, after I was admitted with a fractured forearm and hip. Fantastic member service all round.

What all going great and then they changed the benches. Why change the benches? The new ones are terrible. Also needs another smith machine and maybe sort the squat rack out. Whoever put it together was a bit daft and put it all together wrong. Some of the equipment is now passed its sell by date. Hope they don't change it for things not fit for purpose. We shall see.

First they put prices up, then they charge £5 admin fee to change tariff, and then they charge me full tariff anyway for the month. Just because you have it in small print, doesn’t mean it’s ok. Thieves. Your extra £10 that you sneakily took from me, will be felt through cancellation and further negative reviews on all platforms.

My partner went for an interview today for a role within your establishment to which he was made to feel degraded, not worthy enough to work for ure company and was made to feel like he would not get a job in any gym, the manager in charge is an absolute disgrace to your establishment and as a manager myself i find it absolutely disgusting how you can make an interviewee feel that way
Please avoid this establishment at all costs and I will be writing a letter of complaint

Don't bother paying extra for the flavoured water , out of 6 attempts over 2 weeks to get in only was available once .
Also no cleaning products or tissue etc to clean before or after use .
Overall rubbish service 😑.
Been to smaller gyms and never have this problem .

Neat and clean gym… healthy atmosphere.. so pleasant and positive vibe on the gym. And also 24 hours working gym give me the benefit to check in any time of the day. Excellent arrangements

The gym Group in Oldham.. tried 7 or 8 treadmills, they rattle, bang really loudly when you run, the belt sticks and one emergency stopped twice whilst I was mid run for no reason. took me 20 minutes of trying different treadmills before I gave up, told the staff member and then just left.

Just had an email from The Gym Group, saying that their prices are going up at all well and God, but I cancelled my subscription. Well I thought I had June 2022. I’ve only just realised today that I have still been paying it all that time not knowing because I do not do Internet banking. It was only because I got an email saying that I was still a member which I was puzzled about, so I’ve just rang and apparently there’s not one thing they can do even though all the lockdown I paid full membership when offered to pay less and I did not go to the gym because I thought everyone is struggling. I will carry on pain and this is a gratitude you get, it’s ridiculous I’ve paid it nearly 2 years and all the woman could say on the phone I can cancel it today. Nothing about a refund shocking really I wish I had cancelled it but it was in lockdown now. Will definitely not be going back there again

Punch bag has been down for almost a month.

Decent gym, good equipment, only downside. They only have 1 punch bag, some days I don’t get a chance to go on it. Currently punch bag has been out of use due to a broken bracket. They take very long to fix (been a couple of weeks)

Lovely gym!

Great gym to be at. The staff are really friendly & accommodating.
Having no confidence starting out to finding my feet due to the size, equipment & staff.

They have and continue to be extremely helpful, if anyone has an issue they’re quick on the ball to solve the problem.

Classes are brilliant, each trainer is extremely accommodating to each individual need. Thanks for making us feel comfortable!

The men's toilets have had no hand soap dispenser for 2 months now. I have reported it and was told it would be sorted the following week, to date nothing has been done to replace it. The variety of machines is outdated.

Place is spotless, staff are friendly and helpful. Even the PT's will help if they see you struggling or gice you advice without signing up to them because they'd rather you do your workout right than wrong and not see changes. Manager Gary let's on every morning Sophie and Lisa always give a smile and a wave. Equipment is spot on and plenty of room between them. Treadmills out of date and some broken down so need replacing but other than that, great gym, great people and I'm there everyday before work

Clean, tidy gym and a credit to The Gym Oldham manager Gary, who I see actively keeping the Gym the way it should be and going out of his way to help people. Own experience with PT Ronan is a very positive one, brilliant at what he does and definitely recommend.

Amazing gym!! Never been so clean, well kept and friendly since Gary took over. Been going for years now and all the staff are so approachable and helpful, no judgements, just everyone trying to be a better version of themselves! If you're worried about coming to this gym then don't be! I travel the country with my job so have tried quite a few different ones and this one is by far the best 👌
