Seven and 1/2 months

Seven and 1/2 months, at $119.99 a month, not one item removed. I spoke to the people on several occasions, they are very nice and proffesional, but don't get anything removed. A waste of money and time.

I’ve paid for their service for eight…

I’ve paid for their service for eight months and my score is continuously went down has not went up and I have not used my credit in anyway other than paying off my debt mine has been a roller coaster. All of my life was horrible. The moment I turned 18 because I’m a junior and my parents show up on my credit report. I was a customer of theirs once before and they made some improvements. I came back as a new customer this time for multiple months straight and have received. Nothing even paid for expedited services. And received zero improvement thousand dollars later.

UNIMPRESSED WITH THE CREDIT PEOPLE

I began my agreement with The Credit People on July 7, 2025.
Here’s what’s gone on in the two months I have been a client with the company:
• I felt I needed professional help with only one derogatory comment on my credit report. It was a big one though. Hyundai Motor Finance (HMF) reported me as being late with a final payment and that my account was written off. The scenario is a little more complicated than that with payment due dates conflicting between a hard copy invoice and an on-line statement. They also reported my account as written off which it was not. Those comments dropped my score by about 50 points. My initial dispute using Experian’s on-line dispute process yielded an immediate, no. Their response was a one line statement from HMF that “they have investigated the information I have described as inaccurate and the disputed information is accurate as reported.”
• That’s when I contacted The Credit People. I explained to the phone representative that this was the only thing I wanted them to handle because I knew I had some very old late charges. In signing up, their web site says “tell us your goal”. That was my only goal!
• As I was unemployed three years ago, I did have some late charges reported back then but I told the representative that I didn’t care about those. They insisted I should care as they could be affecting the way lenders view my credit even though before this problem with HMF, my score was over 750 and rising every month. I was told that lenders do look at old late charges regardless of the score. I said if they wanted to work on those, they could but they were legitimate late charges and even if they could get them removed, I know that as late charges get older, they have limited impact on my current score. Noteworthy is that before this problem I was able to get one of those low interest auto loans offered by Toyota to their most credit worthy customers. So years old late charges didn’t bother them. I told that to the phone representative who sarcastically said congratulations.
• Throughout the two months I have been with The Credit People, I get very little feedback from them. As a matter of fact, their audit trail” shows:
o 7/7/25-Sign up
o 7/20-All credit bureaus are processing the dispute
o 7/29 and 7/30-They acknowledged receipt of some documents I sent them to help them build the proof of my case.
o 9/3-“disputes sent to all credit bureaus” I guess that means they received a negative response on the first round although I was not informed by them. I did get something directly from Experian denying the removal of a years old Well Fargo late charge.
 I have no idea what disputes were submitted. Were they the old late charges?
 Was it the Hyundai late charge and what are they saying to prove my case?

• It didn’t appear that The Credit People were taking my case seriously. At least, that’s the way it appears to me. Without feedback, other than the fact that my case was submitted (again) on 9/3. I began working on I on my own and stopped sending The Credit People any more documents. Here’s what I did:
o I e-mailed the CEO of Hyundai Motor Finance. Not surprisingly, I received no response. I did share this E-mail with The Credit People in advance of sending it and that was the last thing I shared.
o I resubmitted my disputes to the three credit bureaus with far more documentation this time and citing The Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. §1681i) which entitles me to a more comprehensive explanation of their decision as they did not indicate what they considered to be inaccurate the first time which yielded the one line statement “they have investigated the information I have described as inaccurate and the disputed information is accurate as reported.”
o This dispute was submitted on August 24th and as of September 7th, I still have not received a response, Experian does send e-mails that they are working on it. Transunion and Equifax have not. Optimistically, my first lame and undocumented dispute, which was only to Experian, yielded a negative response in just a few days, and now it’s been more than two weeks (I know they have 30 days) I am assuming with my stronger and better documented dispute that they are taking it more seriously and they are working on it.
o I contacted an attorney that specializes in credit matters. He offers a free consultation. He was very impressed with my case and said I could probably sue for monetary damages but it will cost me at least $5,000 to take the case. I told him I just want to get the negative posting removed and I will continue working on it on my own.

My concern is that The Credit People is treating my case as it would a "garden variety" late charge using whatever "cook book" justifications they use routinely.
Still vacillating whether to go another month with them.

I wish that I can give them zero stars

I wish that I can give them zero stars. This is the excuse that they give every time you inquire about your account….

We hope you are doing well! I have reviewed your account and unfortunately there have not been any negative accounts removed from your credit reports just yet. The accounts we have disputed so far have come back as “verified”, which is not uncommon. That means your creditors are “claiming” the accounts are reporting legally accurate. When this happens, we disagree with them and then change our dispute letters each round accordingly to dispute them again. We find persistence does pay off. There are a variety of ways we can dispute an account and different strategies can be used. Your most recent disputes were sent on 5/19/2025. As soon as those responses are received, we will send you an email and update your account as well.
It's important to keep in mind that credit repair does take time and often several rounds of disputes since there are years' worth of credit history we are disputing. The creditors pay the bureaus to report your accounts so the bureaus are on the creditors' side and we do have to be persistent and aggressive to fight against that system.

The Credit People is all about Money

My experience with The Credit People was disappointing. Despite their promises, my credit score did not improve. Instead, they deducted money from my account every month. The possibility of fake reviews to attract new clients is not surprising. Their satisfaction guarantee, which I believed in, was a lie. They are not transparent about their dealings with the credit bureaus. I strongly advise against using The Credit People. It's a waste of both your money and time.

Terrible Experience with The Credit People - Total Waste of Money!

I had a very disappointing experience with The Credit People. When I first spoke to them over the phone, they promised to fix my credit by contacting all three major credit bureaus and assured me that they'd help improve my credit score. They made it sound so convincing and like they were truly invested in my situation.

However, after paying their fees, it became clear they were more interested in taking my money than actually helping me. They did nothing substantial to resolve any issues with my credit. I never saw any real progress, and every time I reached out to check the status, they either gave me vague responses or just tried to justify their high fees.

The only thing they seemed to be concerned about was collecting their monthly payment. It's incredibly frustrating and feels like a complete scam. I wasted my time and money with them, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for real credit repair assistance. Stay away!

Never pay 6 month upfront fee

Honestly, this company response to your email really quick is the reason why I Gave them 1 star instead of saying 0 star.
Highly Not recommend pay up all your money upfront singup up for 6 months but instead sign up for 1 month at a time until they remove a inquiry then pay for a month once at a time until they did their job.
The fact that every single hard inquiry that I report to pay POLICE got removed not because Credit People helped me remove it. I have to take matters into my own hands. They can't even rmeove a late fee from American Express Credit Card under $40 and it still stays on my credit report! Such a simple task that a credit report company is able to do. The only be with it or the double I giving them is that they removed the Credit Card that Chase pulled me twice that I think I'm the one who removed by visiting Chase bank servral time complaining and Chase bank did write a letter to Experian but I will have this credit to Credit People just for the heck of it.

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money.
I gave this company a chance believing. My credit would be fixed/disputed..NOTHING, NOT a thing was done. This company is a scam. They had me at first, calling and sending emails like they're legit. I send over 500 for NOT SH!T. Can't even get a refund. I even waited after they claimed letters were sent back in December, its April. Nothing happened. Zero changes. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
CREDIT VERISO is the go to.

Scammers, Your Credit will not get better but worse ! Nothing but scammers for your money .

I would like to warn people about this company, it’s been 6 months of giving the credit people my money monthly at $79 a month to raise my credit score , instead of my credit getting better over the months it got worse like terrible 😞 this so call Credit company promise to raise your credit score within months , A BIG LIE !!! Please don’t make the same mistake I did By allowing these scammers to rob you for your money each month only to be let down and end up with Worser credit then better ! I pray God shut this company down soon !
