Absolutely Appalling Workmanship – Avoid AD Construction Group at All Costs

I deeply regret having AD Construction Group to carry out work on my property. They were contracted to install new windows and complete a few additional small jobs, but what we ended up with was a shocking display of poor craftsmanship and a complete disregard for basic standards.

To be fair, at the beginning of the works, they came across as very professional. We were optimistic and genuinely believed the whole process would be carried out to the same standard. In fact, we were even asked to leave a review early on, which we did — positively and promptly — because we were initially satisfied. However, as the job progressed, things rapidly declined. That early review has since been deleted, and this is our official review of the company based on the full experience.

The window sills are a disaster – finished with visible cracks, smudged paint, and even painted over dust. The silicone work is an eyesore, full of gaps and carelessly applied. Plastering throughout is bumpy and uneven, showing no attention to detail. The threshold at the front door is unstable and unsafe – it literally bounces due to having no support underneath.

The work in the bathroom is particularly disgraceful. The boxing behind the toilet is the worst I’ve ever seen – uneven, not flush with existing tiles, and finished with a dangerously sharp and protruding tile trim. Instead of proper grouting, they lazily used silicone – even on the cream-colored floor tiles, making the job look completely amateurish.

Worse still, they showed no respect for the property. They never used shoe protection, never covered furniture or flooring, and ended up damaging our laminate floor. When we raised this with the manager, we were told it would be “repaired” using a scratch-repair pen — unsurprisingly, that was never followed up.

Professionalism was completely lacking as the project went on. They repeatedly failed to show up when scheduled. On their last visit, someone came to do the terrible tiling job on the bathroom boxing, stayed for one hour, said he would be back shortly — and never returned. He even left tools behind, which we still have.

This company has no pride in their work, no accountability, and no respect for clients. The entire experience has been stressful and very disappointing. Avoid AD Construction Group at all costs — they are simply not fit to be in business.

Connor and Brian were so clean and tidy, really talkative which is nice. Super hard workers. Easy to book in a window appointment with Ellie, she went through what we needed to do prior to arriving which was great. Really happy with the windows it’s made such a difference. Recommend the AD Group and the guys who fitted them.

Worst building company around, take double the time don’t clean up after themselves, the workers can’t speak a word of English so you have to speak to the office for anything! And the ones who can talk a little bit of English are Very Rude!!

Carried out work decorating the outside of my flat, changed gutters and repainted communal hallway, incredibly slow work because they hardly did more than one day a week. 3 weeks work took 4 months and when the contractors left they left loads of rubbish behind.

The men doing the work were very polite and friendly, nothing was to much for them. They left everything clean and tidy . The work it self was excellent 👌

They done a very bodged refurb of my home on behalf of Islington Council and walked off with £8K of my personal belongings, yet claim all their men are trustworthy? Company of theives for sure

Lovely people to deal with, very personable and sensitive to customers individual needs.
The work was professional, clean and efficient and all the contractors were polite and respectful. I have an adult with special needs in the house and every effort was made to make life as easy as possible for us.
Cannot rate them highly enough, and Ellie was a little diamond.

Terrible service, this is the absolute worst experience I have had dealing with contractors, they left a lot of unfinished work and broke multiple items, left the place in a state and when I complained they acknowledge all that they did and then stopped responding, the people they hire to do the work are cowboys rude and disrespectful and the lady that came to check the property is also rude and unprofessional with a stuck up attitude

The contractors were employed by Camden Council to decorate the communal areas of our flats. They were considerate, polite and friendly. They also did an excellent professional job. A refreshing change.

Not AD Construction it’s more AD Destruction! They managed to get a contract with Islington Council how I don’t know as they are the worst contractors I have ever witnessed. The workmen do not know how to paint, point or make good. They are rude, untidy and basically substandard in workmanship. I have examples of cutting corners to do with filling in/painting. Not turning up for weeks/months then doing 1 day work and not coming back. Damaging residents own property, taking extended breaks, waiting around not making good of removed brickwork which had nothing wrong with it in the first place, cementing, guttering work which is absolutely terrible. The workers they employ only turn up with 1 paint brush large and wonder why they cannot paint a window seal to a decent standard.

First class workmanship with polite friendly workers. Who kept everything clean and tidy. The end result was absolutely amazing here in Wroxall isle of Wight.

Had a wonderful experience with AD had windows and pointing done to an excellent standard, so helpful & friendly went over and beyond to help resolve extra work to be carried out and the gentleman that did the pointing did such a fantastic job I couldn’t be more happier thank you so much

ellie was there every step of the way even though i had to change dates she has no trouble booking me back in, even when the doors were getting fitted she was there making sure i was 100% happy. The fitters, Conner and Brian done such a good job went above and beyond done everything and more. I am so so happy thank you all for making me feel a lot safer in my home and also improving my property.

1000% recommend, just such a shame its only 5* because all of them would of got much more.

Renew our windows and roof, arrived when they said they would and did what they said they were going to. Works took 3 days longer that expected but weather was against them. Left the garden clean and tidy after.

I found the company to be very accommodating to our residents. Very informative and explained fully the plans of how the work will be conducted. The team were extremely polite and approachable. The work was of very high standard and would definitely recommend them.

An appalling company who have taken incompetence to stratospheric levels. They have managed to secure contracts with social housing providers by undercutting competitors. The service they provide is absolutely Sub standard - they painted internal areas of my block but didn't bother to use dust sheets, so there is now white paint stains on the carpet. They failed to paint residents front doors despite sending out a letter stating that they would. They have left a portoloo in the carpark despite completing the so called cyclical decorations/upgrades weeks ago. They are awful.

Contracted to carry out an external building clean (roof & guttering, walls & cladding) & complete repaint of all communal areas (still in progress) for Southern Housing- Swinburne Court.
So far has been shambolic (several weeks now).
Cleaning staff rude to residents & substandard result - looks worse than before. No due care or attention to property/ cars or persons paid whilst here.
Decorators are now in but clearly only doing half days (if that) so progress is woefully slow. Not impressed with what they have done so far, and if the end result is anything like the cleaning works - this whole 'refurb' will have been a complete waste of money.
Reading past reviews, how they were ever awarded the contract is beyond me.......
