Shocking service

Edit: another edit….I went to the shop and all have been sorted out, waiting for my new washer now. Shame I had to go through all that trouble. Still waiting for response to my complaint, so shop staff in Mansfield are incredibly helpful but those on the other side of the phone line absolutely useless.

I emailed the team mentioned in below reply few days ago…..gave them all details and guess what? No reply from them, no call, no message, no solution offered, nothing.
Shocking service. I have been paying repair plan for my washing machine for 6 years, its broke in couple months ago, they failed to repair within promised 7 days so it has gone to write off team….and gone quiet. Tried to call them, got through a proper invigilation and got disconnected, trued many more time, no luck. Send complaint letter - no response either. The amount I paid over those 6 years to them would easily be enough to buy a new washing machine without all this stress, frustration involved. I literally run out of ideas how to get my case sorted so avoid, avoid at any cost. Put the money aside every month if you can and buy a new appliance if it breaks.

They rarely answer your telephone calls!

Do Knowhow actually employ anyone to answer their phone lines? I am actually disgusted at how hard it is to report an issue. I've paid for a service that is literally impossible to call upon because there never seems to be anyone to take your call. Constantly being told to contact via chat which is not always possible to do!

Staff member unfamiliar with everything

Staff member unfamiliar with how process of return/repair works. I revisited store after 1 time spending time and money due to lack of knowledge.
Thus should have been a seamless experience but I was shocked with the (lack of) support and knowledge the girl had.

Absolutely rubbish and rude

Absolutely rubbish and rude customer service.

Washing machine broke down, so contacted Currys for £149 repair. Spoke to Vuyo. He refused to book a repair until I have the name of the person who purchased the washing machine. Told him I have no idea who purchased it as the machine is more than 10 years old and came along with the apartment I purchased.

Asked to talk to his manager, he refused that as well, saying I cannot talk to the manager until I give the name of the person who purchased the washing machine. Could not try to reason with them

Left without a fridge again!

Our refrigerator broke end of March. We booked and apt for a week later earliest apt for engineer who thought he’d fixed a wire in our thermostat said to wait and see if temperature would come up over weekend which it hadn’t, he said if it didn’t work it then need re-gasing, he couldn’t do as not had training!
Fridge still didn’t work so we rang and booked another engineer we specifically asked for an engineer who could re gas!
Engineer had just been now pulled fridge out and said he can’t re gas only one engineer on area can!! He Turned fridge off said not to use and said curry’s will be in touch to rebook!
I have taken two days off work and now had to phone curry’s to rebook an appt ourselves for another week, absolute farce as phone operator didn’t have a clue and hadn’t got a record of an engineer coming today so had to do a new booking !!
so still unsure if this will be an engineer that will be able to fix!
Mean while left without a fridge until their next availability on the 19th April with a large family! Communication is shocking between them!

worst company for paying cover on any of your appliances!!!
When they won’t replace it. But states in the cover policy if they can’t fix it they will replace it!!!Would not advise anyone to get cover for ur appliances through curry’s
My washing machine has broken at the end of last month, I booked for an engineer to come out and fix it. When he came he looked at it and said he can’t fix it it’s a write off. He took pictures a videos of the issue left me with a report stating do not use, he unplugged it a told me not to use this. He said the company will be in touch to let me know why to do next. So the same day they emailed me so I rang them to see what they was doing. They asked me what the engineer said, and I told them. They then told me what would happen next. They said they will send some vouchers through email in 72 hours to go and replace it. I have waited 5days for them to email me or phone me. So today I phoned them. As I have not and any reply or phone calls from them. They have passed me from pillow to post, every different person I spoken to have said something different. First have u checked all ur emails we have emailed u, then u are not covered for what’s wrong with it, Then The washer hasn’t been written off, they have ordered parts for it, then the engineer never said it’s a write off, making out I am lying. then they have been waiting for me to book in for the engineer to come out . They have now book me another engineer to come out. This is a joke.dont get me wrong, the washing machine has been a good one and it has lasted me. I have been paying cover for nearly 10 years now, it’s only been fixed twice and now broken completely and they are not sorting it out.
This is so stressful I have been without a washing machine for two weeks now, with small children in the house hold a washing machine is an essential, kids due back at school an got no clean clothes. This company is a joke and the staff are absolute jokes too talking crap , an not one of them helped in any way!!!!!!! Now have to wait another week for another engineer to come out.

Appalling service

Throughout February I tried on multiple occasions to book a repair for my tumble dryer without success, being told by every call handler that my policy doesnt exist !!!!! When I asked to speak to a manager I was told this was not possible. My policy was renewed last may and paid in full. You have even sent me the renewal for May 2024! Frustrated is an understatement. I gave up in the end and bought a new tumble dryer. I have emailed you twice requesting a full refund for this policy and explained the appalling and completely unacceptable service received . You haven’t replied to either email. What do I do next???? Shocking service from know how.

ZERO if i could! Reviews say it all!!!

0 if i could!! Useless company from start to finish. Engineer attended today and said the dishwasher would need replacing due to the amount of call outs it has had. Then recieved a txt after he left to contact them - when i did i was told i need to book another visit because a part is required!! This is despite the engineer telling me he cannot fix the appliance &that it needs to be replaced. I am very angry and upset at the way this company treats their customers. I have had numerous visits with each engineer finding a different fault - it is like a merry go round. If i could turn back time i would Never have purchased from currys! Currys should not offer a service they are unable to provide.

Have a 3D tv with a care plan that…

Have a 3D tv with a care plan that developed a backlight issue.

Somewhat surprised that Currys have managed to fix a tv that is nearly 10 years old, considering the panel and 3D technology doesnt exist and arent made anymore.

Even more bizarre considering the bloke in store told me it would be written off.

When i last spoke to them on wednesday afternoon i was told it was going to be written off as there was no delivery date for parts as they couldnt source the correct one within the 14 day period.

Chap in store submitted a write off request on wednesday due to parts being on order with no intake date before the 14 days repair period is up (period was up on 15/3/24)

Guy instore was 100% adamant it would be written off due to the parts needed not having a delivery date and the work that had already been done.

Now they tell me it was repaired on Wednesday night just before the 14 day period for repair claim runs out.

Where have the parts magically appeared from? Are they genuine parts?

Feels really fishy to me to be honest.

Distinct lack of updates from Currys also, I have had to do all the chasing. trackit wasnt updating and didnt/havent even received a text to see it has been picked up, repaired and what date it is supposed to be returned.

I would NOT recommend taking out…

I would NOT recommend taking out KnowHow cover. Maybe Legal and General would be better.

I have been paying £4.50 a month since January 2019 for our hotpoint washing machine. Since December, I have had issues with massive leakage of water from the bottom of the washing machine, resulting in damage to my floor. KnowHow have been called out 7 TIMES since December 2023 and every time they come, they change a random part (unrelated to the leaks) and "complete the job", convincing us it will fix the problem. They also lie on their call completion form, they always state they "tested" the washing machine but they never stick around long enough to test anything!!

I have been on the phone to customer service several times requesting a new machine but they refuse. They keep sending out engineers who have ZERO clue how to fix anything, forget a washing machine. Worst cover do not waste your money on this rubbish plan!!!

3 months without a cooker and still nothing

On the 14th of December I reported damage to the kitchen hob. On the 19th of December a worker came to check the damages and the model of the cooker. On the 22nd of December I called up to ask whether they were gonna leave me without a working hob during the Christmas season and the response I got from the infoline worker was “If you want to you can buy yourself another cooker”. After this, I received a text message on the 29th of December informing me that they did not have the specific part that was needed in stock. The last information that I received was on the 16th of January. Today it’s the 20th of February and still nothing has been done, no solutions have been provided. Because of this I had to spend money on other appliances, like an induction hob, just to be able to cook for my family. I’ve been paying insurance since 2014 yet I have received no help. How is this fair?

My oven could not be turned off at the…

My oven could not be turned off at the knob so called team knowhow and they told my husband that all the engineers had finished work and they couldn't send one out for a few days so they told hime to turn it off at the mains which would turn off all the gas including the central heating and hot water so they sent out a gas company who disconnected the cooker and capped the pipe. So when the engineer call he couldn't repair the cooker because it could not be reconnected, so the writer the cooker off sending me a voucher for a new cooker a lot less than a new one. So picked a new cooker had to pay for delivery reconnection and disposal of the old cooker.BUT we can not get the new cooker for two weeks so at the the end week will be without a cooker for 6 weeks the a mount of food we have hat through our because we can not cook is unreal . So I would not recommend this Insurance.

Getting a phone repaired due to hardware fault

I handed in a phone for repair as it could no longer read the sim card.
They booked the phone in and sent it off with a 3week lead time. No other alternative was offered to me. I was assured it would be a quick turnaround, and it ended up being nearly a month. I had no notifications apart from one saying the repair is complete and then nothing further. I had to drive to the store the following week and had to get the manager to sort the matter.
The call centre staff for currys would either tell me there was no updates on their system or after a couple of weeks said that the repair reference they gave me did not exist. An extremely stressful situation and no one could give me any information and I had begun to believe that Currys had lost my phone.

Awful service and a complete waste of money

Purchased a £2000 Samsung 55inch TV from Currys in 2015 & I've been paying £8 monthly for Knowhow insurance since for what is supposed to be peace of mind for such a high value purchase. This is the first time I've used the service and what a shambles trying to arrange a repair. Collection arranged for 10/02/23 but the driver didn’t turn up, the tracking site showed that collection was cancelled without prior notification & rebooked for 6 weeks later. When I contacted customer service to query this, I was told that no one was home when the driver arrived which is why it had been cancelled. This is a complete lie; I tracked the repair link all day & the driver was 2 stops away from my address when it was cancelled, meanwhile I was in my house. Contacted customer service, was passed around 4 times, 30 minutes on the call for staff to be rude and tell me if I didn’t have the repair plan, I wouldn’t be entitled to a repair so essentially, I had to accept this. I have paid more than £800 over the years for the extended repair, I could have purchased another TV for that, worthless service that was mis sold to me, any promises to provide after sales technical support and an efficient repair service is a fallacy. Avoid it’s just a money grabbing scheme that will frustrate.

no functioning washing machine for over 4 weeks

Knowhow and currys: Following on from a repair that hasn't happened from the 22nd of December and now it has been over 4 weeks with no functioning washing machine, paying the insurance cover to Knowhow* since 2012. The numerous emails sent back and forth with you aplogising, acknowledging your mistakes, advising that I will most likely have to arrange for a plumber to repair your mistakes, which I would be refunded the cost of to the last email you sent 3 days ago: the engineer said he repaired the issue, there are no notes, do I havr any paperwork? You all of a sudden don't know whats going on? My anxiety is sky high. I've had to drive to a friends to do laundry and go to the laundrette. This cannot continue,you are driving me to a nervous breakdown. Have you listened to the 1hr3minutes of the call I made to you on the 22nd December.

MY BROTHER MADE A CLAIM WITH THEM, THE CLAIM WAS APPROVED, THEY HAD SOME TECHNICAL ISSUES WITH DELIVERING THE PHONE THE NEXT DAY. SPENT 5 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM AND EXPLAINED THAT HE NEEDED TO FLY TO ANOTHER COUNTRY AND NEEDED THE PHONE URGENTLY, BUT THEY IGNORED HIM EVEN THOUGH HE PROVIDED A FLIGHT TICKET.
SPOKE WITH 5 DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND THEY DID NOT PROVIDE THE CORRECT INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCESS, IN THE END, THEY JUST CLOSED THE OFFICE AND DID NOT DO ANYTHING. POOR CUSTOMER CARE, POOR COMPLIANS TEAM. UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AND NOT PREPARED TO SOLVE CUSTOMER ISSUES.
THEY KEPT HIM WAIT THE WHOLE DAY TILL 17.40 AND THEN THEY JUST CLOSED THE OFFICE TILL MONDAY.

21yr smoke malfunctioning washing machine and still I can't get it replaced

**DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY CONTACT YOU FROM CURRYSKNOWHOW? OR IS THIS RESPONSE JUST FOR SHOW**

**14hrs on and I'm still waiting for a response to my email Rich?***
I have had a currys insurance policy since 2003 since I purchased my Hotpoint Washing machine. I have experienced untold despair trying to have this machine replaced after it decided to billow smoke after malfunctioning after a spin cycle. 3 engineers later, which also I must advise 1 didn't bother to turn up and then decided to ring at 2pm on the day of the appmnt to tell me he didn't have the parts but my appmnt slot had been from 7.30am but he calls at 2pm after his team track him down. Now nearly 3 weeks on I still can't get any assistance to have this very old machine replaced and keep being told we've ordered parts. How can a loyal customer of 21years be treated in this way. I just don't know who to turn to for help.

Very bad exp reimbursing approved claim

Hello.i purchased international warranty for my oled TV back in 2018,now I am back in my country and got some motherboard problem,I get it sorted via LG India and provided the bill and same was kindly approved .Now when it come to reimbursement ,your team can only provide cheque on my name and which can only be encashed if I have uk bank account.now as I left for good and don't have any account in UK.now I have requested to provide cheque on my friends name as an exception and I can provide necessary approval as required but it can't happen so now please tell me how I can reimburse the cheque.common you were selling international warranty so this can be common scenerio,either send money internationally or support as required but here it looks I done big mistake purchasing international warranty with false peace of mind.thanks

Kenwood fridge freezer repair service can be really good...

I was really worried about paying £179 over the phone to have my Kenwood (Currys own brand, not the other one) American-style fridge freezer repaired. The reviews of the repair service here are mostly very poor - hence my concern. I even went into the local Currys to see if I could book a repair in person (not for big stuff, apparently). My 7 year old Kenwood's control panel was non-responsive - a common problem with these units. I needn't have worried. I phoned, paid, agreed a date for the repair and got receipt by email as well as a text confirming the date. A later text specified a time slot. The engineer came as agreed (phoning 30 minutes before arrival) and fixed it in moments. He had the necessary part under his arm and had obviously done this many times. (Which says something about Kenwood units). I could probably have done it myself...It looked like: switch off unit, prize panel out, unplug it, plug in new one, test it works. The panels are about £100 though from espares, so I am happy to have it done for me, just to be sure. I can't speak for the service in other areas of the country - I'm in North West England. Credit where it's due. Currys - the job was ref. 788303 and your engineer was excellent.

Avoid Currys/carphone/ID-mobile like…

Avoid Currys/carphone/ID-mobile like the plague they are.

Join Costco and get all your stuff from them.

My phone was less than 2 months old when the screen failed.
Was required to waste time taking it to a store
Was given 17 day period (ready on 26th Dec). Nowhere on any doc did it say anything else, the links on the docs didn't work and the main repair site also silent on dates

Go to store on 27th and they say they sent it and show me the consignment record.
Repair say they never had it and they have 28days and they count thay from when they receive it
I'm told they need an 'internal review' and I'm guaranteed to be contacted in 3 days. No one contacts me.

I'm promised multiple 'manager callbacks' that never happen.

All departments blame each other and the customer for not knowing exactly which of the internal numbers to call. Customer service is anything but and regularly puts you on hold and then cuts you off.

Lying seems company policy.

"Call trading standards if you feel like it' is the repeated mantra, so often that it's clearly Curry's FU to any customer asking for the most basic level of service.

Never again. Tell all your friends, family & colleagues, of your business buys and IT warn them off as well.

They are a prime example of why modern British business fail, and show attitudes & behaviours reminiscent of the Post Office (for those of you who follow the Horizon scandal)
