Appalling experience: Avoid Taylor Stitch

Don’t be fooled by their slick marketing. Behind the cool photography lies a disappointing reality: Taylor Stitch sells ordinary clothing at expensive prices.

I ordered an blue Oxford shirt and an Ojai jacket ($300 USD total). Beyond the unexpected 25% customs fees for Canada, the disappointment was absolute: the shirt's color does not match exactly the website (a weird yellowish unpleasant blue ), the fit is tiny around the shoulders, the sleeves are too shot, and the jacket cut is remarkably bland.

The worst part, however, is the customer service. Their website technically doesn't allow returns for orders outside the USA, and my follow-ups to their support team have been met with total radio silence.

Bottom line: Overpriced products and non-existent after-sales support. Taylor Stitch are not a trustworthy brand. This was my first and last order with them.

Potentially the most expensive and worst fitting pants I have ever owned. The chipped charcoal jeans might as well be cardboard. They are definitely durable. They will last forever being that I will never wear them again. I cannot explain how uncomfortable these pants are. There are somehow tight loose and stiff all at the same time. do yourself a favor and do not order these.

Got discount code, tried 3 jeans - 2 democratic and one slim fit. Liked the democratic but needed to exchange one for another size, which they did. Wanted to exchange slim for another pair of democratic, they said I could only return the slim and buy democratic, but could not get the discount as I “already used it”. Like the jeans but I refuse to do business with people that put profit over relationship. Might try another couple pairs when they have a sale. I can be transactional as well.

The email I sent to the company. Worst Customer Service. Very deceptive.

" I received my order yesterday 11/13 and there was a difference in sizes.
I chatted with Customer Service and was promised that the exchange order will be shipped as expedited or 1-day shipping.

I returned the original order last night with USPS.

Today 11/14, I was trying to get hold of someone on the status of the exchange order and I see that the order was shipped as a standard order.

I specifically paid for and informed the Customer Service that I am traveling out of the country and I should be receiving the package before 11/17.

The Customer Service Rep "Lami" promised that she will ensure it will be prioritized as High.

If you can't deliver the package by Sunday 11/16, please cancel the order and refund.

All the info is in the chat. I can't handle this deception and poor customer service. I am coming to TS from another brand and this is one of the worst experience.

Tried to contact customer services to return items bought, sent numerous emails & not one reply!!

Spent 30 days trying & now the return policy of returning items within a time period has finished.....now stuck with the items bought.

I have no words!

All good except when trying to return my item from oversees, you need to email a generic email account, which i did many times & did not get one reply.

Apparently they need to send you a shipping number to make the return easy - well I never got a reply to any of my emails for a shipping number & so I'm now stuck with a £100 worth of items!!

I have mixed feelings about this company. Some of their products are excellent quality and well worth the price, especially the apres line (sooo good) and their jeans. The flannels are also great — hefty and cozy. Their house fit can be a bit dated (low rise jeans, super slim tops), but they are solidly made basics.

My main issue is with the “repair or replace” guarantee. I’ve had multiple t-shirts develop holes within the first year or two of ownership despite gentle care (hang drying, etc). I’d expect that of cheaper garments, but one of them was the merino tee, an $85 product.

Each time this happened, I reached out to customer service to ask about the guarantee, and each time I was told that it did not qualify. Why make the “guarantee” if you don’t stand behind the longevity of your products?

Been buying from them since 2022. Love the quality of their products. I've had to reach out to their customer service a few times in the past few months and they've always been polite, responsive, and willing to make requested changes (ie. requesting they only use UPS or FedEx on my orders and asking them to add my refund gift cards to my store credit so it's easier for me to use and track).

I have been buying clothes from this company for a while now. Usually I buy their flannels, but I do also have some shirts and socks. The quality of their clothing is top tier. Prices can be high up there (no where near luxury products), but you’re paying for a premium product, and not just the name. I love their Crater flannels, I wait each year to buy at least one. Highly recommend them.

Website is extremely buggy and at times a straight up scam. I was advertised 20% off my first purchase if I signed up with my email. I did as they asked and never received the discount code. Now they send me a ridiculous amount of emails and I am still waiting for my promised discount. Also when trying to put certain items in my cart that were in stock, the website would refuse to let me do so while with other items I had no issue.

I have a dozen articles of clothing from Taylor Stitch, including shirts, pants, and jackets. The couple of times I've needed to exchange an item they responded in a couple of hours and shipped the replacement immediately.

Their clothing is stylish, well-made, manufactured in the US, and fits well.

European customers beware. Love the brand and have got a bit of stuff from them now. Great jackets. I find shipping very high especially when you've spent a few hundred dollars with them. Other US companies do free international shipping if you spend over a certain amount. When you add customs charges you can be spending double the initial cost. I doubt I'll use them again due to the add ons.

Quality products but they have shipping issues. Not sure of where one of my packages is at. Customer service not much help with shipping either.

Terrible experience with a return that cost me close to $50 for no item of clothing.

They would rather get into an email debate and lose a customer than consider that maybe they should be clearer on their return policy.

They offer international sales, aren’t able to offer the service to go with it. I really recommend avoiding this company, or if you do go ahead do so via PayPal which will protect you if you have any difficulties.

Got into this brand last year, and recently picked up some more pieces after being happy with prior purchases. High quality and speedy shipping, everything is on point!

I bought a pair of chinos. Wore them a handful of times over a year and noticed that the zipper loosens and unzips by itself. Contacted customer support and they said this issue is not covered by warranty and is due to normal wear and tear. How can this company claim to use premium materials, charge this kind of pricing and can't cover their defective zipper after a year and a handful of uses?

Horrible Customer Service.

Have an item that needs to be exchanged for another size. Pretty simple right? I’ve attempted both email and chat 4 times to ask a question for help and calmed the phone listed online twice. The phi epsilon number asks you to call back or you get a busy signal and disconnected. It’s a joke!

Spent over $500 with them this holiday. Looking for even minimal customer service? Much better companies to do business with than Taylor Stitch that actually RESPOND to their customers.

Pricey, but quality mens clothing. My theory on fashion is that it’s better to have a few nice expensive pieces than a closet full of junk. Unless you’re going out every night, you’re not going to rotate through all of your clothes too quickly. So having fewer nicer things is optimal for most people. They do good unique clothes, ship decently quickly, and even run an occasional sale too. Worth looking into if you want to up your style game.

Dishonest and Bad business. I funded a “workshop” item which is the bases of their business. Once it is funded it’s made. Those funding save a little money everyone else pays more.

After funding the indigo boss duck Stetson shirt (I saved 10$) they made it and put it on sale for 50$ off... reprehensible business practice that undermines the whole point of saving those funding a project money. Absolute bs.

Taylor stitch refused to post my review, they only post 5 star reviews they approve. Also a dishonest and transparent business tactic. I will never shop there again, and I used to buy all my clothes through them. Thousands. But I do not do this kind of garbage.
Taylor Stitch you Lost a faithful customer, and everyone I will never tell about you in the future.

As for me I am on positive side and ordered there a lot, I do recommend you honestly to buy something from them next time, but if you will have problems with customer service you could always use something like for example good old phone or physical visit;)
