Our experience buying a property through Tatlers Muswell Hill was generally very good. Michael Luckhurst particularly was brilliant: straightforward, responsive and really pleasant to deal with. Would definitely recommend Tatlers - but especially Michael.

Tatlers in East Finchley, led by Stephen Hyde handled my sale very skilfully and communicated very professionally and thoroughly. I'd highly recommend them.

Based on my experience of their lettings management, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

We had a clear idea about where we wanted to live and had even identified our preferred road, so I contacted Tatlers Estate Agents in Muswell Hill because they have a very good reputation in the area. Before making an offer, I spoke to Michael Luckhurst from Tatlers who kindly gave me more information about the local property market and lots of helpful advice about how to position ourselves so that we had the best chance of securing a property. When a property came up, we rushed to put in an offer, which was accepted. Recognising that we were first-time buyers, Michael was on hand to answer questions and give us really valuable advice. Throughout the process he was very professional and friendly. He was in regular contact with us and went out of his way us to ensure that the sale went smoothly, including making himself available when he was on annual leave. He made what could have been a very stressful process much easier. I would highly recommend Michael and Tatlers. We will definitely employ their services if we decide to sell.

We have been renting our house through Tatlers for about five years. In the earlier years there was little going on with the house and we had easy tenants, so all was good. During lockdown in 2020, they marketed the property again as the previous family moved out after just 7 months. They found us a tenant that we thought would move in. Turned out the person didn’t pass the reference checks and Tatlers failed to take a holding deposit while they reference checked (which contradicted what they told us). This resulted in wasting time and money. The Tatlers agent literally lied about the viability of this new potential tenant. After considerable negotiation, Tatlers eventually reduced their commission to reflect the mistake. They then found another family to move in to our house. The agent over promised the incoming tenants several things which we had no intention of buying, eg new oven, new fridge/freezer, money on the garden... The same agent then left mid way through the move in process, which caused lots of confusion and frustration. We were told by the inventory company that these tenants are “a total nightmare, can’t believe Tatlers suggested them, they have a bad reputation around here”. We have had so many issues since then. We spent over £25k on the property and still the new tenants were dissatisfied. Maybe unreasonable tenants but also a reflection of an agency that does not broker effectively between landlord and tenant. Just terrible at managing expectations all round.

Tatlers lettings team have added no value at all, they are never proactive in the way they manage the property, poor at returning calls, use excuses to cover up poor communication and as such I would never recommend them to anyone.

We rent a 7 bedroom house, so the commission they receive is significant. I would have opted to do it myself but we live in another country and timezone, so that was never an option.

I rent another property in Central London and have a completely different experience with them - Lavanda.

We've used Tatlers in the past and they helped us throughout the sale and purchase of our last move. Tatlers recently sold our house at a very good price and communication was good throughout, and we had a buyer within three weeks. The Tatlers team got involved and kept us informed every step of the way. We would certainly recommend them.

Unbelievably poor service and outcomes resulting in a complaint. As they did not have a complaints procedure they threatened legal action and an injunction to seize the assets from the sale of my home. This is neither professional nor reasonable. You have been warned.

Just had confirmation that our flat in Muswell Hill has successfully completed. It's been a long haul and Tatlers have been excellent in supporting us through selling and (temporarily) letting it.
We'd give them 6 stars if we could! The service was very personal, they kept us informed and always went the extra mile.
We live a long way away and having this excellent service has made the whole process less stressful than it might have been.
We can't recommend them too highly.

Great experience with a house purchase through Tatlers. Very good and proactive at showing places in the first instance (Daniel), and incredibly supportive and helpful through the lengthy and difficult process of getting everything lined up with the lenders, solicitors, sellers, etc. (Marco). I have no doubt who I'll be turning to if I ever decide to sell.
