Absolutely appalling experience with Mercedes-Benz of Leeds.

I placed a deposit on a vehicle and travelled over 400 miles to collect it, only to be told when I arrived that the car had already been sold to someone else. This was completely unacceptable and left me out of pocket after a long journey.

To make matters worse, they refused to refund my deposit. When I spoke to the manager, Zara, she was dismissive, rude, and unwilling to take responsibility for what had happened. There was no apology, no offer of compensation, and no attempt to resolve the situation professionally.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If a dealership cannot honour a deposit or at the very least refund it when they sell the car to someone else, it raises serious concerns about how they treat their customers.

I would strongly advise anyone considering buying a car from Mercedes-Benz of Leeds to think carefully before doing business with them.

We recently purchased a new Mercedes-Benz for my parents after visiting several different dealerships and comparing a range of vehicles.

We had even placed a deposit with a competitor, but decided to cancel due to the long lead times and the overall buying experience.

My parents had been searching for the right car for quite some time and were becoming confused by the various finance options and figures presented at other dealerships. Although we had decided that a Mercedes-Benz was the right choice, the main reason we felt comfortable proceeding with the purchase was the excellent service provided by Ikram Zaman.

Ikram was professional, knowledgeable, and communicated everything clearly from start to finish. My dad was understandably hesitant about purchasing a brand-new car, but Ikram took the time to explain all the options and break down the figures in a way that was easy to understand, with no pressure at all.

His patience, honesty, and attention to detail made the entire process straightforward and enjoyable. We are extremely grateful for his help and would highly recommend Ikram to anyone considering a Mercedes-Benz. He is a real credit to the dealership and made what could have been a stressful decision a very positive experience.

Last year I had problems with a suspension noise that ended up with a complaint to M.B with poor service all round. Leaving instructions in the car and also with the service reception were ignored. This year no better, a new suspension part of 10 months old and 2752 miles on it - a mot advisory ! - as usual the note left in my car was ignored to contact myself if there were any problems, the part is not covered by warranty, I asked for a price for this one only replacing but no joy - how ironic that the service report and service video would quote me for 2 new ones ...mmmm. l still have no joy with MB and still waiting for my recepts since April. MB complaints do not listen and they and myself get fobbed off by this dealership. Third complaint now to MB and still waiting - they won't fit one new suspension strut, won't respond to unanswered questions and no receipt.If I could find the chairman's address i would email them to complain to. Absolute disgrace . Our car is less than a week old and keeps unlocking itself .

Arnie was the most brilliant salesman I could have asked for. He was welcoming, supportive, and incredibly understanding, especially when it came to my indecisiveness. He took the time to address all my concerns, reassuring me throughout the entire process and ensuring I felt confident and happy at every stage of my car purchase. His charisma and ability to build such a positive rapport made the experience truly enjoyable. I’m absolutely delighted with my new car, and it’s all thanks to him!

I purchased a Mercedes C220d from Mercedes-Benz Leeds in January and unfortunately the experience since then has been very disappointing.
Within a short period of ownership the vehicle developed multiple issues. The car initially failed an MOT shortly after purchase due to safety-related faults, which was concerning given it had just been supplied by a main Mercedes-Benz dealership.
Since then, further problems have arisen including a significant gearbox issue which is now being investigated by Mercedes-Benz Coventry. Other issues logged include seat belt retraction problems and several interior faults.
While some earlier repairs were carried out, experiencing this number of problems so soon after purchase has significantly reduced my confidence in the vehicle.
I am currently trying to resolve the matter with the dealership and Mercedes-Benz UK and hope a fair resolution can be reached. If the situation cannot be resolved directly, I will need to consider pursuing the matter through the appropriate consumer protection channels.

I cannot recommend Martin Watson from Stratstone Mercedes Leeds highly enough! From start to finish, he made buying a car an absolute pleasure.
Martin was incredibly friendly and genuine, totally assisting with all the time-consuming admin stuff, taking away all the hassle from me, which was a massive differentiator, making the whole process smooth and simple.
If you are looking for a genuine, exceptional customer service experience, go see Martin in Leeds, you won’t be disappointed.

I had an absolutely disastrous experience with this Mercedes dealer. I purchased a Mercedes GLS for £73,000, and within 24 hours, I noticed a critical issue with the software update and the MBUX system. I returned the car immediately within 24 hours, but after a few days in the garage, the issue was still there. I had to contact customer services, and they sent breakdown assistance to my home two or three times, but it was never resolved. To make matters worse, they scratched the car while it was in the garage. After all this, I tried to return the car under the UK’s 30-day return law, but since it was under manufacturer warranty, I still had the right to either return or repair it. Despite my efforts, they refused to accept the return of the vehicle . I was forced to sell the car to another dealer at a massive loss within 2 months from purchase. This was a complete nightmare—avoid this dealer at all costs!

Also Mercedes UK promised to deal with this matter, not a single email or phone call.

Extremely disappointed!

I am very pleased with my new car Mercedes. it was fantastic service especially Billy who is car dealer. Much appreciated with his work, communication and also explained to me how my car works. I would highly recommend Billy.

This is our first car from Mercedes and the sales person, Ikram was fantastic!
He catered to our every need and wasn't pushy at all which was nice to see.
He kept us refreshed with endless tea's & coffee's lol!
We cannot thank him enough, he was excellent, although we are still awaiting his arrival with those pizzas!

I would like to say that my experience at Mercedes was first class from beginning to end. I would also like to thank Arnie for his time and effort in helping me with the purchase of my new GLA it was a really nice and friendly experience.

Went into Leeds Mercedes and was greeted by Arnie, he was fantastic through out the sale, keeping me updated via emails about my order. He was very professional and helpful. The whole process went smoothly thanks to him. Always had a smile on and was always there when i asked questions.

In March 2024 my wife and I attended at Stratstone-Merc Leeds with a view to purchasing a Mercedes GLA 200, We asked the usual questions i,e had the vehicle ever been a hire car/taxi/rental or emergency services vehicle and the answer came back NO,
We had numerous problems with the car knocking underneath, which turned out to be badly worn suspension links and a rattling tailgate which was identified as the rear lock assembly needed replacing.
Over the next few weeks we returned to the garage and found out that the vehicle had never had a pre delivery check.
Within the documentation which i received with the vehicle was documentation stating that the vehicle had previously been owned by EUROPCAR car hire/rental, also in the boot was a EUROPCAR adverising sticker.
The dealership would not admit that the car had been a hire vehicle - we sold the car back to Stratstone at a loss, but what really amazed me was that I was looking on Stratstone web site and found my previous car and asked via email had ever been a rental etc, again we received the reply - NO- it had been one previous private owner - presumably me.
Please take this as a warning and if you do wish to buy a used car from Stratstone , or any other dealership make them show proof that the car was not a rental car etc.
After sales very poor arranged to meet manager to sign a cheque and he couldnt even be bothered to wait - went home and no one knew anything about it. Many other bad experiences too many to list.

I have just taken ownership of my new Mercedes A200 from Stratstone in Leeds. This is our fourth car from them and as always their customer service and attention to detail is second to none. Martin Watson was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I also received the most beautiful bouquet of flowers from Martin when I picked up my car. I cannot recommend them enough which is why we will always return.

I was sourcing a hard to find part, which Leeds had in stock. I was helped by Callum McCarthy in the parts department, who was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to help me with order, and got everything done with record efficiency, including preparing it for a courier to pick up at very short notice. Exceptional customer service from Callum!
