Extremely disappointing experience with Stratstone BMW Milton Keynes.

After purchasing a BMW X6, I was told an issue on the car (which existed at the point of sale) would be inspected and potentially repaired. I was then made to drive all the way from Birmingham to Milton Keynes purely for an “inspection” — despite the damage already being present when I bought the vehicle.

After wasting time, fuel, and effort travelling back and forth, they later refused to compensate anything and hid behind “policy”, even though the issue was known from the start. I genuinely felt treated like a fool for trusting their word.

To make matters worse, Tony Parla (Senior Retail Manager) was rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in customer care. For a premium brand like BMW, the service was shockingly poor and unprofessional.

If you’re not local, think very carefully before buying from this dealership. Once the sale is done, support and goodwill disappear very quickly.

I expected far better from BMW — unfortunately, this dealership does not reflect the brand.

I’ve had a few cars from the JLR range and most of the approved dealerships I’ve dealt with have been really awful. We bought a used car from Stratstone Milton Keynes last May and the whole buying process was simple and efficient and Craig the sales rep was brilliant despite lots of annoying questions on my part.
When we bought the car there was a small defect in the paintwork on the bonnet which Craig pointed out and arranged to get the bonnet resprayed. Whilst the bonnet was being sprayed they noticed a small oil leak which was all fixed under warranty. We also noticed a very quiet whine which was hardly audible but Stratstones were happy to investigate and have rectified.
I can’t praise them enough and are in a different league from all the other JLR dealerships I’ve used.

Staff knowledge and helpfulness was evident in my email and telephone exchanges with the company during a difficult December/January holiday period. I was kept fully informed on the fault diagnosis and repair options for my vehicle throughout.

Bought used F-Pace for their full price but front tyres almost exactly 3mm tread ; poor valeting and delivered with almost empty on fuel. Not a great experience - what i would expect from a car supermarket not a Jaguar dealer.

Complicated issue but the service desk was very attentive, kept me informed with all that was happening. Particular thanks to Maisy.

Shockingly bad service, bullying behaviour, zero accountability!

I took my 2024 Range Rover Velar here for a minor paint defect. Instead of fixing it, Land Rover Milton Keynes repeatedly sent the car to a third-party bodyshop (Castle Coachworks), after which the vehicle came back worse every time, with paint mismatch, poor finish, damaged panels, damaged bonnet insulation, broken clips, and new cosmetic damage that was not there before. In addition, new damage to a door was present that had not been there before, an issue I notice is referenced frequently in other customer reviews.

Despite clear photographic evidence, the staff refused to take responsibility and deflected responsibility by stating it was a “third-party repairer.” Communication was dismissive and hostile, and I was repeatedly pressured to accept the car in an unacceptable condition. When I escalated the issue, management became confrontational and even suggested legal action against me for “wasting their time.” This felt like intimidation rather than customer service.

The situation became so bad that Lookers Chelmsford Land Rover, the selling dealer, repurchased the vehicle after losing confidence in Milton Keynes and the ongoing damage being caused. Chelmsford handled it professionally and covered everything. Land Rover Milton Keynes refused to acknowledge fault or offer any meaningful resolution!

Customers should also be aware that Land Rover Milton Keynes is NOT subscribed to The Motor Ombudsman, meaning there is no independent dispute resolution if things go wrong.

Based on my experience, this dealership shows a complete lack of ownership, professionalism, and basic respect for customers. I would strongly advise avoiding them.

Overall, the experience exposed unprofessional and aggressive staff behaviour, poor workmanship, and a standard of service that customers should avoid at all costs!

PS, I have noticed a recurring pattern where critical reviews are quickly followed by isolated five-star reviews, which raises questions about credibility.

Wish I had read the reviews before going to Milton Keynes Land Rover, everything people are saying in their reviews is absolutely true. We had the misfortune of my husband's car being taken to them and I can report the following:

1. Will they damage your car: YES
2. Wil they fob you off: YES
3. Will they bully you into taking your car away as is with issues: YES
4. Will they eventually imply/threaten you to keep quite: YES
5. Are the service staff aggressive, rude and abrupt: YES
6. Will they take any responsibility: ABSOLUTE NO
7. Are they signed up to the Motoring Ombudsman: No

PS, Stratstone/land rover, don't bother asking to be contacted if you are not going to do anything about it!

Land Rover Milton Keynes, are awful, absolute waste of time, money and energy dealing with them. Will not accept liability for anything and don’t want to listen to you at all, will fob you off and will push you to accept substandard work.I’m not sure they realise that they are running a dealership and seem to be content with the place being empty.

You are an inconvenience after the initial pitch and sale, so be prepared for it, the service department will hand you the car back but check for defects, once you drive away its your problem not theirs!

What a joke of a garage, absolutely useless and will return your car damaged, and then will claim it was already there! Will take no responsibility whatsoever ever, ruined a brand new car. Will never buy from them or take a car for servicing there. The reviews on here are very true of the aggression and rudeness of staff and bullying, like it's nothing!!!
