This is my second time doing business with Storage King. I opened an account with Storage King Bedford - Self Storage on November 13th for a 50 sq ft unit with the Manager Lee that I needed urgently due to an agreement with my landlord and the Real Estate Agency. At the time of opening the account, I told Lee I had damaged a tendon in my dominant left hand as I had a splint on my finger at the time which will slow me down significantly due to the limited range of motion. Due to the last minute turnaround, Lee suggested one remover who might be able to help. I contacted the individual and left a voicemail.
I transferred half of my belongings into the allocated unit on the same day and I did not leave until quite late around minutes to 10pm. I recontacted the suggested remover in the morning who said he did not check his messages and he would not be able to help. I recontacted Lee November 14th who suggested another driver who also was unavailable which left me in quite a stressful position.
I eventually got someone to assist me around minutes 9pm on November 14th, where I was able to put the bulky items in first with the driver which did not end until around half 9. As I was about to take the remaining smaller items up to the locker along with the rest that came with the driver at exactly 10pm. I put the code in and was immedately denied access. I called the emergency contact number on the wall as directed by Lee on orientation to the facility, I waited several minutes for answer. I explained the situation that I had just opened the facility the previous day and unfortunately I cannot put the things into my car which was already filled to capacity and my locker was opened.
The person eventually got on to Lee who shouted at me over the telephone "That it is after 10" on multiple occasions during the conversation which was very unprofessional. I was treated like I did it repeatedly when this was the first instance I actually had to do this and it was due to mitigating circumstances. I have no one to help me, a damaged hand, and I had to get out of my house that I was living in by November 14th. I explained that it was never my intention to even be on the premises at that time and he has no idea the day I have had which had gone quite horrible.
Lee did not need to come to the facility as he was able to open doors remotely from his home. He did not open the doors where I was standing but one clear across the lot and told me to hurry knowing I have a damaged hand. I broke household items due to this.
The worst part was there was someone else in the facility with me who was "dressed in black with a hoodie on" that he could clearly see on the "14 cameras" from the safety of his home. My vehicle was the only non company vehicle on the compound so I wondered who was there as I oversaw my driver leaving the facility and I saw no one else whilst I was there.
Instead of calling the police to ensure my safety, he sent me to me search out whomever was there, to ask who they were and to ask them to leave. This led to the customer shouting at me, I have no right to tell her to leave as I am not "an employee of Storage King". I was shouted at for being on the compound post 10pm however another customer was a regular for being on the compound post 10 acording to him "I know her" and her "I do it all the time".
By the time, I got to my unit, I had a full blown anxiety attack due to the earlier events of my day exacerbated by the added stressors that occurred at the facility on November 14th.
Lee, your behaviour was very unprofessional as this was a first instance, you placed my life at risk because I am certain the facility has protocol for a suspected intruder and you failed to act swiftly by putting me in harm's way, you allow other customers to come post 10pm but treated me differently and you had no clue I have a hidden disability by causing a panic attack by your shouting at me.
If I could have moved all my items out of the facility the next day, I would have. I will never do business with Storage King again.

Have used Storage King Doncaster on many occasions and always found the staff there very helpful, informative and obliging especially Dawn and Kerry. The units and surrounding areas were clean and tidy and with the security being very important to me, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them

We recently had cause to use the services of the Hounslow Heathrow branch. Cannot praise the manager and his team enough - super helpful and a very professional service. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our experience an extremely happy one. We would certainly deal with them again and can highly recommend them.

I’ve had a terrible experience with the Tunbridge Wells facility. After 3 years, spending £10,000 to store the whole contents of my home, to find the most disgusting scene of infestation. Most of my property has been destroyed and the removal company forced to deposit what was still usable in the garden. Please check your units for cleanliness and the condition and safety of your property. My experience is that their pest control failed miserably. This has been a devastating and costly experience.

I have had a unit with storage king for about 5 months now and have just downs sized my unit the guys there were ,very helpful it was mainly George I spoke to ,I rang on Saturday he advised to pop down Monday as a couple of units were coming available, I went in today and was such a easy process to go to a small unit and George was very helpful and answered all my questions, customer service was top notch would totally recommend this storage centre

Paul at the Chester store was very helpful, keeping in touch as I drove up the motorway on removals day to make sure I would arrive before he closed! Easy sign-up process with direct debit payments. Good value, nice, clean, dry, modern, ambient temperature storage units with wide-access up-roller door for the bigger units. Double bolt holes for 2 padlocks if needed for 2 renters joint access security. Covered loading bay, large lifts, trolleys and easy to use security code access until 9pm. Too much stuff to fit in my reserved units on my second delivery! Luckily there was an empty unit that Paul added to my account as I unload the van.
Insurance> Paul quickly cancelled my Storage King insurance, when I proved that my household policy covered my items in storage.
Students> Not a student myself but witnessed Paul being helpful to students storing items for the holidays in small lock-ups.

ROBBING COMPANY BEWARE!!!!!
unit start price 80 for the first two months then £160 for the second two months. then they phones and said it was going up for the 5th month to £380 and i had a week to pay it or move my stuff out!!!! please don't use this company they guaranteed the price and then lied!! beware people

Used storage king recently...must say the whole experience was made infinitely better by the staff at Epsom Storage King......Staff very very helpful ...cannot praise them enough.....if I'm ever in the unfortunate position to have to use storage again I would not hesitate to go and see Izzy and staff again.....Thank You for your help....

These guys are deceitful; their pricing is clickbait, presenting a different price online while excluding key details such as insurance and VAT, as if we are Americans. By the time you arrive, your mind is preoccupied with the price you saw online. This was my first storage unit, so why would you say it was this price and then charge me double? If I had known sooner, I would have sought for a less expensive option (which I did find, but at the time...). In the United Kingdom, insurance premiums are usually exempt from VAT. This means that you usually don't have to pay VAT on storage unit insurance in the UK. First time I have been charged VAT Twice by the same company. If you are not familiar with storage units stay away am not saying their price is largely different to others, but it is deceptive. I am still looking into why they charge VAT on their insurance; Despite the small charge, I believe something is incorrect and malicious.

Although I got my storage out 2 days early was still charged £6.50 also gave the correct 14 days notice so watch out!!
