Startupbootcamp - don't apply until you read this
Startupbootcamp reached out to us to request the rebirth of an old startup to pitch for Lavazza. We were given incredibly tight deadlines meaning I gave up family time over XMAS/NY. They refused to budge on the deadlines. We would never have spent time on this unless we were approached directly and implication that there was genuine interest meaning we had a good chance of success.
On submission of the proposal, we heard nothing back for weeks. I kept chasing. They broke their own internal deadlines making a mockery of our rush to get the proposal in.
Then we received a standard rejection email. No explanation as to why specifically we did not make it.
We sacrificed family time over XMAS/NY on the belief that what we built was of interest only to find out it was all smoke and mirrors. Probably to make Smartupbootcamp appear good in front of their client to get the numbers of start-ups applying up.
