Swift Conqueror 565 caravan
My wife and I purchased a Swift Conqueror 565.
The sales man (James) was very pleasent. He talked us through various things on the caravan and was very helpful and answered any questions we had.
When we came to collect the caravan, we were introduced Dave who was a nice guy and gave us a very in depth handover making sure we understood how everything worked.
He was patient and answered all our questions.
When we got the caravan home, we had to get it loaded that day as we were going away in it that afternoon.
Whilst loading the caravan we started to notice one or two things that we would have expected to have been put right.
There was only 2 screws holding the slide out rack in the cupboard under the sink and the rack wouldn't slide in and out properly due to the it coming away from the tracks.
The wooden panelling on the front of the bed was coming apart at the corner.
All the locks on the lockers and the rams at the side of the all the windows had been sprayed with WD40, but any excess hadn't been wiped and consequently all of the windows and all of the locks and locker doors have now got greasy streak marks down the side of the caravan.
We we told the caravan would be cleaned. I think that basically means wipe the worktops, hoover the mats and spray some nice air freshener, because the caravan looked nice on the surface, and smelt nice to, but as we started to put things in the drawers and cupboards we found that they hadn't been cleaned at all. There were crumbs, dirty marks and grease marks that we had to clean.
After we were loaded we did have a great weekend away. That said when we got to the place we were stopping at, I went to put the legs down but the winder that fits on the stablizer legs was missing .
Luckily I was able to borrow one to get the legs down.
I reported this to Spinney and they apologised and sent one out to my house by courier.
Generally speaking were are very happy with the caravan and with Spinney, but they just let themselves down on a couple of points. The biggest issue for me was the cleaning. When you are spending that amount of money I would expect it to have be thoroughly cleaned.
All that said, we would like to say thank you to spinney for our new caravan which we really love.

David the caravan introduction specialist was very knowledgeable and provided a very thorough introduction to our new caravan. The only negative aspect of our whole experience with Spinney Caravans was the delivery date. We were originally told our caravan would be ready for collection in mid May, then the end of April, then late May. In the end it wasn’t ready until late June which caused some concern as we booked a holiday using the caravan only a week later, which made it difficult to equip in time. I’d would rather have been told it would be ready later than earlier as this would have given me the opportunity to choice other holiday options this year.

Initially the salesman was excellent…
Initially the salesman was excellent but didn't get the details correct on the sale's document including wrong name, exchange caravan and incorrectly listed the part exchange price for our van we were trading in. He did not forward our requests for jobs to be done ( on a brand new van) and also arranged for our collection on a day he knew he didn't work so we missed out on the continuity of checking all our requests were dealt with correctly. Overall we felt that Spinney fell short of the professionalism in comparison to White Arches who we had dealt with in the past. The best part of the handover was David who was excellent and most informative. He also tried to clear up some of the missing work, e.g missing gas bottle and motor mover handle from our old van which he found and got put into our new van . He hadn't been told about the creaking floor or the door bin not being aligned properly. He did point out that the shower door had sealant all over it at the top of the door and he cleaned this for us and wiped over other surfaces that was not cleaned, with no hassle whatsoever. If it hadn't been for this level of service on collection by David then our score could well have been 2 star's. Were not convinced the PDI was thoroughly done as we also found that we have a curved unit with a door that doesn't close properly and protective strips not fully removed in places.

We are disappointed to hear that several errors were made on the sales documentation, including the incorrect customer details, part exchange information, and that the requests you raised were not communicated effectively. We also understand your frustration regarding the collection arrangements and the lack of continuity during the handover process.
Please be assured that we have discussed your feedback directly with the Sales Executive involved to ensure these concerns are fully understood and to help prevent similar issues occurring in the future.
We are particularly sorry that a number of items requiring attention were not identified or addressed before collection, including the creaking floor, door alignment issues, incomplete removal of protective strips, and concerns regarding the quality of the PDI preparation. These matters fall below the standards we aim to deliver.
That said, we are pleased to hear that David was able to make a positive difference to your handover experience. We will ensure your comments are shared with him and his manager, as his willingness to resolve outstanding issues and provide informative, professional support reflects the level of service we strive to provide.

Exemplary service
After 6 years of enjoying our 2007 motorhome we decided that the time had come to upgrade. We had done considerable research and knew the exact model we wanted - a Swift Voyager 584. On the Friday I was perusing Autotrader and suddenly came across our perfect motorhome - 120 miles away. I phoned Spinney straight away and spoke to Colin who was happy to give me more details about the van. We arranged to go and view the next day, travelling from Shropshire. On arrival at Spinney we met Colin who let us have the keys to look around the van at our leisure. He apologised that it hadn’t yet been valeted but this wasn’t an issue for us as we fell in love with the van immediately. The whole process of viewing the van and then purchasing it was brilliant. At no time did we feel rushed or pressurised. A collection date was arranged for two weeks time. During that time we decided to have some extras fitted, again this process was easy and the pricing was clear and fair. When Colin wasn’t available I spoke to Robert who was equally as friendly and efficient. We felt like valued customers during the whole process.
Colin kept us informed of progress, particularly when the collection date had to be put back a couple of days because the tow bar we needed had to be specially made.
On collection day the motorhome was sparkling. Whoever cleans their motorhomes obviously takes pride in their work. Colin gave us a great handover (even though my husband had watched so many YouTube videos on the Swift Voyager 584 he could probably get a job working for Swift!). Colin reassured us that we could call him with any queries or problems and I believe that this was a genuine offer.
As we left Spinney and drove through thunderstorms back to Shrewsbury we had to keep pinching ourselves that we had finally got our dream motorhome within our budget.
We probably won’t see Colin again, which is a shame but as Spinney has a branch less than an hour away we will go there to have the van serviced and habitation checked. I’ve already contacted Spinney in Stoke on Trent to determine how soon in advance we need to book to have this done. My email was answered quickly which bodes well for the future.
All in all our experience with Spinney Motorhomes in Northamptonshire has been exemplary. Colin is such a lovely man - knowledgeable, friendly, great sense of humour and none of the ‘salesman waffle / hard sell’ we’ve experienced previously.

We went over to pick up our new to us Bailey phoenix caravan which ready for to start to plan our trips away, David was the member of staff that ran through the workings of the caravan he was very helpful and there was nothing we asked that he didn't know the answer to he took his time chatting with us and wasn't in any hurry to rush through the the demonstration making sure we where happy was all the workings of the caravan, we would recommend Spinney caravans to anyone looking to buy a new or used caravan
