Appalling customer service & lack of proactive comms
Bloody appalling!! DONT DO IT! Got ours installed 2 years ago, & now the battery has stuffed out already and we havent heard from them since March 2020. I've had to call on multiple occasions since then & speak to incompetent agents & repeat myself over & over again only to be told 'I have to email a team & get back to you'. I was given conflicting info every time as to what the problem was. First it was that they didn't know what was actually wrong & whether it was a fault or battery replacement & them in Nov 20 we finally got a tech to come out & then he couldn't get readings from the converter & another tech needed to assist. Had to chase up the revisit & finally 3 guys came out this time & did whatever they needed to do before it was confirmed that battery definitely needs to be replaced & now I appear to be on some long list with others on the same boat. Still no letter to confirm that there is a backlog or COVID delays or any confirmation to explain the reason for this long wait. I'm concerned that the agents I speak to can't even tell me why!! Just got off the phone now & got the BAU response that my case is still open & someone will call me, however the only calls I've received are from agents & managers telling me what I already know and that is ' your battery needs replacing' but I want to know WHEN will they replace it and WHY the long delays??? Very poor customer service. I've pretty much been locked into a 20 year contract for a service that Im not receiving at all. I wish we had never signed up with Solar City.

On 10/3/20 I sent a letter requesting a quote to buy my system as indicated in my contract. No response. Called on 11/3 and was told an invoice would be generated for purchase. Nothing has been provided. Lousy service and don't keep their word.
Terrible experience to date!
Terrible experience to date with SolarCity. Wish I never signed up. Sold my house, provided another address for them to install it on. They mucked around for months having to chase them multiple times. They couldn't even find the address despite us drawing them a map with an arrow. The patch up job they did on my roof of my old house was terrible. I am now paying $65.00 per month for a system I can't use and they told me they have re installed the system on someone else's house. Have tried to email them and phone them to which they said there manger was busy and would call me back in 3 to 5 days time. What a joke. Don't deal with them.

Do not do business with Solar City
Do not do business with Solar City. Our solar panels stopped working over a year ago. Solar City has yet to send anybody out to repair them. We are still charged our monthly fee and in October we had a $1800 true up bill. We are at $800 so for this year. When I contacted Solar City they took 3 months to review my file and said I would get a $22 refund (which I have not actually seen). And still no date on when the panels will be repaired.

We had our solar panels installed through SolarCity in 2018.
No problems and pleased with the reduction in our monthly power bill Very happy.
The support is terrible and unfair
The support is terrible, they keep making a promise to reply. Never transfer your broadband with them, they are luring there customers to have free stuff yet when you decide to remove your Broadband before 20yrs, say 15yrs. they will recontract your energy service for another 20yrs, you are forever slave with them, with a very poor support.
Read the contract and there FAQ... Beware.
Appalling after sale service & non response.
We bought solar panel through Solar City in 2018. Panels were installed quuckly & work well & we are happy with the power saving. However we wanted to have battery storage as well & in November 2018 I was told new type batteries. would be here in 2 months. I enquired again in February 2019 & was told they would be here in 1 month.
I keep making contact & was told my messages would go to the Manager.
Now I get no response at all to my emails.

I thought my review was already up because ours is the same! Installed December 2018 and it’s now April 2019. Still faulty - have emailed and told them to remove it. Under Consumer Guarantees Act they’re breaching so many of our rights!

Honestly I wish i had never signed up for them. They started ther installation on my house in December 2018 and it's still not running as of the 30th April 2019. The worst customer service ever.
Go with Harrison's, a friend of mine is an electrical inspector and he says they do good work and are easy to deal with.

Been with solar city for while now from the start we said we needed more panels then what they recommend but didn't happen so we aren't seeing much savings.
Then 4_5 months ago they offered a battery up grade with 2 degrees Internet so we signed up.
Didn't hear anything from them then had two random guys turn up today to apparently install the battery unit and Internet.
But these guys had no I'd no work sheets nothing so I tried to phone solar city but they weren't open so sent the guys away until we could verify what was going on.
Then they called me to have a go at me for sending them away what like I'm going to let some random guys into my house all day while I'm at work.
Then they where supposed to send me our Internet setup details but haven't now we have no Internet as it has switched over and we have no setup details.
Don't use these guys find someone who actually cares about there customers because these guys don't
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. My solar didnt work for 3 months yet I still had to make a lease payment. They wouldnt allow me to speak to a supervisor either. They told me if I dont meet a minimum in 2 years they will pay me the difference. In the mean time I owe the electric company over 400 dollars. Pick another company that cares about customers!

Taking way too long
Signed the contract in august 2016 and now it's December. Everything is up and on the roof but Solar City keeps telling us it's the City where we live or the Utility company that's dragging there feet. Meanwhile 4-5 other homes in our neighborhood now have solar and ordered it after us. Needless to say we aren't happy at all with Solar City
Smooth Easy Process! Good riddance Delmarva Power bills!!
Finally SolarCity has opened in DE and not a moment too soon! PECO bought Delmarva Power and announced rate increases already. I met my Solar city rep in the Christiana Mall he was well informed and helped my husband and I through the process. It is amazing to me that the whole system is $0 cost in exchange for tax credits and a reduced energy bill!! The toughest part of the process was waiting a month for my HOA to meet and approve the design. Solarcity actually put a new roof on my townhome at no charge and installed the system in 7 hours! Our Delmarva bill is now negative some months and our solar energy expense is 35% less than the utility. Its a no brainer if you have sun hitting your roof. Yes,I would recommend this to my friends and neighbors.

We live in a noise ordinance area and at 8 am they woke me up after working 12 hrs and getting home at 5am Blasting music so loud I could hear the lyrics. I asked them to turn it down so I couldn't hear it through my ear plugs and they didn't. My husband went out asked nicer than me if they would turn it down and they did until he walked in the door and they turned it back up, he again went out there and asked then to turn it down or we were calling the cops. The install guys are rude and disrdisrespectful. I will never use this company any sister company and will tell all my friends to not use this company. I had roofers be quieter on my roof then these stoned jerks.
