Like their attempts to retain customers, I will keep my personal summary short and sweet;

Price at start of contract: £67 (sky signature and 150mbps)
Expected price at end: £80-£88
Actual price: £98.50

Called for retentions, dealt with upgrades: £70.
Transferred to retentions: £69.

So I renewed the TV, £30 and I will just move my mothers broadband from provider to provider yearly avoiding sky specifically because of their profits over customers approach.

A longer retrospective:

The market landscape changed mid contract, which isn’t skys fault, with price increasing being tiered now rather than directly to CPI, which is good as it tells you in advance allowing a more informed buying decision. Sky want no part in this, and rather than offering simply pricing and retaining customers through building relationships, they would rather scatter their customer base, leaving new customers with small pricing and big value for customer acquisition purposes. Tenured customers with big pricing and low value in the hopes they will chase bigger value to justify there big bills but ultimately their goal is to buy low and sell high which from a business perspective is fantastic! However customers will continue to “fall from the sky” and transition to more “down to earth providers” who achieve revenue and business growth through customer experience, transparency and competitive pricing.

It’s a shame a company once as great as sky have allowed themselves to become the market leader on sky high pricing, ironically pricing themselves out of future business.

Here’s hoping that changes someday.

Went into the sky store witha issue I've been having for a long time with my sky. over the phone couldn't sort it but I met surinder and she was very helpful and patient she managed to sort it out for me and talk me through it all. I was very pleased.

Surinder was amazing in helping me sort out a package with sky! Even though customer services called up and messed up my whole package she was so helpful towards me and still sorted it out for me I’m extremely happy with her service she provided me with. She’s a great employee of sky. Trust me this process leaving re has not been easy but she made it a lot easier.

Sky arranged for Openreach to complete our broadband installation but Openreach failed to keep the appointment.
We were only able to complain online via a BOT and are unable to speak to a real person to establish when Openreach might call. Left hanging

Everyone in the shop was great. Especially Abul, very friendly and knowledgeable he answered all my questions and made signing up really easy.
