We needed a new fuse for our cigarette…
We needed a new fuse for our cigarette socket to use for putting air in the tyres, buy wasn't sure what size of fuse to use and the access to pop the fuse in, after 5 phones calls to Simpsons Skoda in Colne to the parts department no one called us back over a two day period, we were desperate to find the information because we're are towing our caravan and needed the correct air in our tyres, anyway after the 7th phone call finally Dave picked up and asked technical the size of the fuse, we asked if it was easy to fit and his reply was I have not got the faintest clue and said thanks and put the phone down, anyway a family member managed to help us, a simple question to simple answer took two days numerous phone calls of our time and not once did the parts department ring us back, but their always happy to take our money when the car is due a service.!! Customer service is NILL

Simply the Best After Sales Service ,Ever
So today New Years Eve, 31st January 2021, 4 years after purchasing my Skoda Superb L and K from Simpsons Colne , which by the way was an excellent experience , I had a flat tyre. So I try and change the spare wheel with the space saver that came with the car ,but it does not fit.So at 12:59pm I ring Simpsons of Colne and speak to Chris .He says he is literally walking out of the door ,but will try and sort something out to help me. By the way I am 30 miles away in North Manchester .Chris rings me back 10 minutes later to say he will come to my address and sort the problem out . He arrives an hour later dressed in Skoda attire and try’s another spacesaver tyre which also doesn’t fit. The reason apparently is the brake callipers are too big. He then has the idea to take the back wheel off his car and put it on mine. Hurray, it fits. He then puts everything away, tidys everything up , apologising again for someones mistake over 4 years ago .I offer him a monetary appreciation which he refuses.Chris has put himself out for over three and a half hours,on New Years Eve ,when I am sure he had better things to do .This after sales service, four years later, is absolutely amazing. When I buy my next Skoda, there is only place I will be going, Simpsons of Colne . Again thank you Chris ,and Happy New Year !
Waste of time - be careful.
Had greed to buy a car from Simpsons and date was agreed for collection. Tried several times to place securing deposit without success. Eventually received a call from John who told me that he was in the process of selling the car to someone else. He wasn't really bothered about my position and almost arrogant with it. Said he would let me know if his buyer would pull out!!
Never received any courtesy call. THEY ARE a bunch of time WASTERS.
Be careful if you visit Simpsons.
Great at taking money - poor after sales care
It is difficult to write this review as this is the second time I have purchased from Simpsons Skoda Preston.
The first occasion I bought a Skoda Kodiaq in February 2019. The sales manager Jonathan Mitchell was excellent and I was really pleased with both the sale and after sales care. My expectations were exceeded and I was more than satisfied - 5 stars! Hence wanting to buy from them again.
However, I have had a completely different experience this time round having purchased a Skoda Enyaq.
The salesman was friendly enough but as electric vehicles are relatively new to the range I had to speak with their EV specialist with some specific questions, but all was fine.
When I returned to complete the paperwork I was advised that the car only had one key (a result of the semiconductor shortage affecting lots of businesses at present) another one had been ordered and but it would be 2 weeks before it arrived. The vehicle would need to be returned so the key could be coded to the car, which I was ok with.
During the vehicle handover the after sales person showed me some little notches on the handle of the drivers door and said did you know it comes with keyless entry. He then tried to demonstrate it but it did not work. He tried the other handles to see if they worked but they didn't. He did not know why it wasn't working but said as the vehicle was being returned it could be looked at then.
During the sales pitch I was advised that the car also comes with wireless mobile phone charging. When I arrived home I tried to charge my phone but it did not work.
I had a call from the branch a couple of days later to confirm the date to return my car to sort the second key out, during which I raised the issues of the keyless entry and wireless charging. Again I was told the service team can look at it when the vehicle was returned.
Helpfully I was also told that someone would collect my car rather drive it to the branch myself.
On the day of collection I had made sure the car was fully charged by paying for it to be charged at the local supermarket as my home charger has not been installed yet. I did this as the person collecting could get to branch as I live some distance away.
On collection of the car I reminded them about the keyless entry and wireless charging. He advised me he would remind the service team to look at it for me.
That evening the car was returned. I was asked if the branch had been in touch, which they hadn't. I was presented with the second key and was then told that the service team had fully checked the car our and they could not understand why the keyless entry was not working.
I then asked about the wireless charging, to which I was told that they forgot to check it. I was then advised I can claim the issues under warranty but at another branch as its a bit closer to me.
I was then told that they would have charged my car up for me but the area manager was using the fast charger for himself and went straight into a meeting, but there was a bit of charge left so I could get to a charge point, as my home charger has not been installed yet. A second charging cost I would need to incur myself to cover their service.
I was not happy with the service so complained to the branch manager and copied in their customer service team (who have never responded).
The manager was friendly but disinterested. After investigation she has concluded that these were never features of the car, despite being advised so by two sales people and an investigation by the service department as to why they weren't working. If I wanted these then I would have to pay £1200 for the options pack that covers them.
I have been left feeling that once the branch has taken my money they are no longer interested in me as a customer. I feel mis-sold to, especially as there has been a service investigation for features that they now claim aren't in the spec. Why do it in the first place?
I also feel that the area manager is more interested in sorting out his own vehicle rather than that of his customers.
I have spent over £60,000 on vehicles with this branch but will certainly go elsewhere in the future.
I have been loyal to the Skoda brand but feel this branch has let them down badly, reinforced by the string of negative reviews on Trust Pilot.
UPDATE
Customer services have shown little interest in my complaint and have not replied to last correspondence. Thoroughly let down.
DO NOT BUY FROM SIMPSONS SKODA
DO NOT BUY FROM SIMPSONS SKODA
Bought a 2016 skoda octavia vrs in June 21 happy and friendly taking money as soon as problems start game over.
Had multiple problem went back for 2 week.
Manager contradicting his self saying replaced something then saying repaired it.
Got it back noise still same sent video over of when they found the fault to the day got it back
Manager quote of the day !!! My technician have 50 year experience saying nothing wrong.
Not interested should be ashamed of the service from all managers
Uninterested once sale complete
Throughout the sales process I was given great service, but as soon as I had put pen to paper that came to an end.
Since I bought my car, I found that it had not come with a locking wheel nut. I discovered this when my car was at home when I noticed a tyre bulge, and not at the side of a motorway. Despite never been given one with the car, I was still charged £40 for one to be sent out, keeping my car off the road for a week and having to pay for the privilege.
Two months after that my car is due for a service. I have my car booked in at another Skoda garage which should be covered by the service plan I was sold. The other garage informed me that there was no record of my plan on their system. I phoned Simpsons Skoda for the first time on a Tuesday to understand why the plan wasn't in place when I could see it on my order form. I was told that someone would call me back. It then took a further 8 calls to the garage for someone to actually try and resolve the issue, rather than just passing me around or promising callbacks that never came. I was told on a Friday that the issue had been resolved and that it would take 3 business days to resolve at Skoda's end, and that I would be called when it had gone through to confirm. One week later and I have had no confirmation. I am currently waiting for another call back after my third call of the day (eleventh in total) trying to get help. I will have to push my service back for a second week in a row if it is not resolved today. Thankfully, I had booked in earlier than I needed to, or again my car would be left off the road due to something that should have never been an issue. It has now been 11 days since I raised this issue, and it has still not been resolved.
Edit: Had to call up again, the service manager has now told me that there is not a single person working who can help me with my issue and that I should call back Monday. That's now at least two weeks of delayed service and will be 13 days without the issue being resolved.
This is review of the Colne Branch
This is review of the Colne Branch, the purchase went quite smoothly, I bought the car on the 8th of April 21 bearing in mind I drove from Leeds I wanted to purchase and drive away , although it was all washed and gleaming the salesman said no because it needs a checkover and SERVICE fair enough but remember this,I agreed to return on Friday the 10th to pay the money and collect.
Two days later I had a puncture I took it to a reputable tyre place I've used for 25 years and had it repaired, they said "oh you've swapped your motor "yes 2 days ago I replied " well you'll need 2 tyres in another month, so I rung Simpson's and voiced my concerns they promised to get back to ne and guess what 7th july I'm still waiting, at the same time I asked about service record,"oh you don't get one know it's all online " but we can email it to you was reply and guess what yes still waiting.
So I got in touch with SKODA UK gave them my reg no and the guy said when was it serviced ? 8 or 9th April was my reply, "no mate it was serviced October 2020 and he emailed me the document proving that, why did they need to lie.
I reiterate what a previous contributor said ,great when getting your money but after, sales and callbacks non existent.
I would never buy again from SIMPSON'S
I purchased a 2020 £23,000 Skoda Superb…
I purchased a 2020 £23,000 Skoda Superb on 27th May 2021. The car developed a problem the day I drove it off. That problem was still unresolved with no follow up a week later. I was left doing the leg work. 15 days after picking the car up multiple issues including the Auto stop start and automatic gear box came up on the computer as faulty. I had to get Skoda Assist out to me, having made it to work. The car went back that afternoon for repairs.
These things can happen. However never in my life and Iam middle aged have I experienced such a dis-interested and blasse approach to customer service. My calls not returned, people in endless meetings for days, and contradictory information given. In the end I had to get Skoda Head Office involved.
Please do not buy a car here. They are fabulous when taking your money, everyone that is needed is free to carru out their tasks. Once they they have your money and you have an issue then a more "Could not care less" after sales approach you will not find.
Take your money and drive to a dealership that maybe an hour away or so because these guys really do not care once they have your money. The worst experience I have had.
The upside is the Superb is a great car.
Unable to solve issue on NEW car
I got a brand new skoda scala via Simpsons in Colne in March 2020. The sat nav has never worked correctly from day one and never works consistently on any journey. It has been into the repair shop on 2 occasions this year (for 2 days each time) and they told me it should be fixed, but it was as bad as ever as soon as I drove away. Now they say they have never been able to replicate the problem so cannot help me. They say that when they use it everything is fine! I have moved house since I got the car and they have suggested that the problem may be caused by where I live yet none of my work colleagues have any issues with their satnavs!!
If they cannot even replicate a problem on something that happens every time I drive it should you trust them to undertake less obvious, but potentially more crucial, servicing and repairs?
Took my Fabia there for a 50.000…
Took my Fabia there for a 50.000 service, couldn't get in at my local garage. I was heading down to Cornwall so needed it doing. Initial quote was £207. Received a phone call stating they had found it wanted 2 brake discs and the rear tyres were getting down to minimum tread depth. And a couple of suspension bushes. So I said proceed. Received the invoice by email and the amount owing was £1395.61. Couldn't believe it. The car had only had an Mot in Dec and there was no mention of suspension bushes. It said on the invoice that they were hanging out!!! The car has only covered 700 miles since the MOT. £110 per hour labour costs. When. I drove the car home the steering was misaligned but it said they had carried out a wheel alignment. Took it back and they said it needed a track rod end. They did say this would be FOC. £11.
They should sell British Leyland cars
They should sell British Leyland cars. I have used them for years, the driver collects my car for a service, the driver returned it and was in a new Skoda Octavia, I said it was a nice looking car he responded by telling me that "The media system though takes over and he does not even use a radio in a car, does not bother with the radio". I got in the car and noticed a button was missing from the radio, I immediately emailed Simpsons. This was 5/1/21. They responded by saying they would come back to me. Getting Simpsons to respond was painful, I had to repeatedly go through their main contact form on the website to ask for responses to my, polite, emails. They would apologise and then I would receive a reply advising me that they are waiting for a manager to respond, it would then go quiet again. This has dragged on until late April with multiple chasers to their contact forms, ignored emails, staff leaving. When I finally told them that this needed sorting they now tell me that will not replace it. If this is customer service then it is pathetic, even if you are going to do that why not tell me in early January so I can sort it myself and save myself all the hours chasing them just for Simpsons to ignorantly ignore me?
