fantastic days in amsterdam

Perfect stay on top locatieon in Rome

last week we stayed in a beautiful and very spacious appartement on a top location in Rome. The view was magnificant, the Colloseum was just on the other side if the road.
In the middle of everything, but once you where inside of the appartement it was really silent.
I felt i was one off the roman inhabitants. The appartement itself was nice decorated and very spacious; 4 bedrooms, 3 barthrooms a big livingroom, a diningroom and a kitchen.
Internetconnection was very good and the airconditioning was working.
Couldn't wish for a better stay in Rome!
Great!

great appartement in rome

We have stayer in one of the most beautifull places of Rome. An apartment looking towards the coloseum. 4 beautifull and spacious bedrooms 3 bathroom an living room dining room and kitchen. Everything is very Good. Also you can walk to almost all what There is to see in rome because of the perfect placement of the apartment

the worst apartment ever

stayed in amsterdam with short stay apartments and found the accommodations to be horrible and not at all what was listed on the internet
not only did the price change from the posted amount the staff were rude and unaccommodating
the apartment was 30 narrow stairs above ground which was not what was promised - it was supposed to main floor
the location was on the outside of the centre area - again what was not told to us and the apartment itself was dirty and had bugs flying all around it
all in all the worst apartment i have ever stayed in and i travel all over the world
it was so bad we had toe leave and find other accomdations and they refused to reimburse any amounts

The apartment is managed by a professional provider operating over 300 high quality apartments in Amsterdam and in general receive very positive reviews. Of course, something can go wrong and people can have a bad day. As we investigated this matter, we however strongly believe your review needs quite some adjustment.

We received your inquiry on April 27. It was for the "Rozengracht Apartment IV", a ground floor apartment, which appeared to be already booked in the requested period July 1 – July 6. Our service desk replied immediately on April 27, the same day:

A link to the apartment was provided http://www.shortstay-apartment.com/amsterdam-apartment/rozengracht-apartment-ii.html where you could have seen the location information. The accommodation is located on the edge of the Jordaan quarter, an very nice area which is still the city centre of Amsterdam.

Your remark that you were promised a main floor apartment is not correct. See this passage in above response: “located on the first floor. This apartment does not have an elevator.”

The price information was also included in this mail. However, you booked the next day, it is possible that prices were adjusted due to daily yielding, something we cannot influence, but you read it and clearly agreed with it when you made an online pre-payment to secure your booking.

Our service desk received your complaint on July 1 and immediately forwarded it to the owner’s service desk. This is what has been forwarded to the apartment owner:

"The guest is complaining about the apartment that she has booked. She inquired through us asking if the apartment has an elevator, which my colleague answered that there is none and that it is situated on the first floor. The guest is also complaining about the stairs in the apartment and she claims the price to be very high."

In this complaint we miss the remarks about the apartment being dirty and the bugs flying around. Maybe you remembered and added this afterwards. We also mentioned this to the operator and were assured the apartment was clean (they checked it instantly). The flying bugs you refer to were mosquitoes, they are common in summer.

The operator informed us that you were not willing to discuss alternatives. They stated their team remained calm and decent and not at all rude. They just could not agree with your list of demands (unreasonable demands in their opinion).


Again, we are truly sorry for your negative experience, nothing worse than not being happy on your holiday, but in this case we believe your negative review is not completely justified. Hopefully you can appreciate our findings in this matter, but off course we would like to discuss your point of view via e-mail or telephone.

Great Apartment but *No* Internet Service

I stayed in Amsterdam near the Vondelpark for nearly three weeks, a mixture of work and pleasure. The apartment itself was delightful-in a great location and clean and newly refurbished. Two major downsides though-the internet service did not work in my apartment and the one below and they kept sending guys who could not fix it. Second, the apartment below mine was burgled during my stay (actually while I was there), obviously raising security concerns.

We would like to thank you for your comments about your stay with us. We appreciate you took the time to write them.
We are very sorry to hear that the internet service did not work. We fully understand your disappointment and the inconvenience that it could not be fixed during your stay.
After we got notice of the problems regarding the internet we contacted the provider. It turned out that something went wrong during the installation of new cables and the connection to the current network.
It took a while before the issues could be resolved but we are very glad that the internet is working properly again.

After the annoying situation of the burglary we took extreme measures to secure the building. We replaced the locks, we took extra prevention to secure doors and we will install a security camera.
We regret it very much that this happened in this lovely and safe neighbourhood of Amsterdam. Unfortunately we realize that it could happen everywhere but we are doing everything in our power for the safety and comfort of our guests.

Once again thank you for your comments and we are looking forward to welcome you again in Amsterdam!

Excellent stay

Quality as expected, even better. Great location and real urban feeling. Normally i do not post a lot of reviews, but this one is well-deserved.

Excellent experience in The Hague

The apartment was bright, warm, comfortable and well-equipped. It was generally clean, though the outside terrace (which we did not use given that it was early February and cold) had not been swept before our arrival. The décor was fine though perhaps slightly tired.
The apartment was excellently located, on a quiet street in the city centre, not far from Central Station and other transport links, and very close to visitor attractions like the Mauritshuis and Parliament, and to shops, bars and restaurants.
The staff in the StayCi office were friendly and exceptionally helpful, including by facilitating an early check-in.
Overall, it was an excellent base for a stay in a city which has an entirely undeserved reputation for being dull. Quite the contrary, we found it interesting, lively and welcoming. The tourist office has an excellent self-guided walking tour leaflet.

Worst experience & have rented villas in Italy & France for years!

VERY inconvenient to obtain key, especially with luggage, as reception is NOT close to the apts & stairs are very steep! Extra taxis from Schiphol to Herengracht + on to apt were 70 Euros! Not including this, we could have stayed for 3 nights at Doubletree by Hilton next to Central Station for the SAME price! Our Harmonie Harbour flat was dingy, with cheap furnishings, a VERY uncomfortable sleeper sofa (with wood board!), a little bar of soap each, no kleenex or napkins, no A/C or circulation. The Herengracht reception was less than helpful: not knowing the local of a food market nearby, nor that we could enter from the street instead of lugging bags up and then down steep stairs!! Plus there's a little step (to trip on!) at the top of steep stairs!! I contacted two people who gave me the address to CANCEL their reservation & book the Doubletree!

We have more than 200 self-service apartments in Amsterdam at unique locations and our reception is located almost in the middle of all apartments for an easy check-in and luggage storage if guests arrive before 14:00. For the convenience of our guests we also have a check-in desk at Schiphol airport and we offer personal check-ins for an additional fee. We are sorry to hear about your experience with steep stairs. Most buildings (as the one our reception is in) are hundreds of years old which gives Amsterdam the unique atmosphere and therefore is UNESCO World Heritage. Unfortunately they do have steep stairs. This was the solution back then to use the space in buildings effectively.

We always do our utmost to keep our apartments and the furniture in the best state possible. We regret you were not satisfied. Your comments are very valuable for the success of our organization. We always advise our guests to contact us during their stay if they are not satisfied. Our company is committed to providing our guests with the highest quality services and facilities for a comfortable stay. Great location

The apartment location was great. Right across from the canal in a beautiful building. The furnishings were not as pictured. Despite being told at the airport that the garbage would be taken out, this did not happen (not really a big deal). There was a list of all the items in the apartment and clearly said if you broke anything, it would come out of your deposit. I wonder how much would come out of the deposit considering everything (down to the utensils) are from Ikea. The sink in the bathroom was clogged; no one came to repair it. The real bust however, was the mouse that appeared in the apartment the night before our departure and ate some of the treats we had packed to bring home. Thank God we were going home the next morning. All in all a great trip; just wished the management would have been more attentive and personable. . . The mouse didn't help either .

We have read your comments about your stay with us in Amsterdam and we greatly appreciate that you took the time to write them. We are sorry to hear about the miscommunication of the garbage. During the stay of our guests in more than 200 apartments in our beautiful city we advise them to use the garbage pick-up service if necessary on specific days and times by the city government of Amsterdam. To avoid inconveniences for the neighborhood on other days we advise our guests to leave their garbage inside the apartment and that we will take it out after their stay. We hereby would like to assure you that we will never charge our guests for broken plates or glasses, because these damages simply happen. We do ask for a security deposit to avoid damages on our furniture or apartment itself and also for illegal smoking or excessive noise after 10 pm. We hope you understand. We discussed the clogged drain with our technical department and it has been taking care of. Our apologies for the inconvenience. We are also sorry to hear that you spotted a mouse in your apartment. Unfortunately we experience problems with mice in buildings in Amsterdam. Most buildings are hundreds of years old which gives Amsterdam the unique atmosphere and therefore is UNESCO World Heritage. You can probably understand that these buildings are so old that these little creatures can easily access those properties. We are doing our utmost to close off all holes and try not to get them in our apartments. Unfortunately once in a while a mouse can enter a building. We are working with a professional pest control company and we do everything in our power to get rid of them. Thank you for your comments and thank you for staying with us. We hope to welcome you in Amsterdam again in the near future.

Great location, spacious apartment.

Two of us stayed in this apartment for a week in February 2014.

The booking and 'check-in' processes were smooth.

The apartment is very well located. There are restaurants, shops and supermarkets in walking distance. The street is quiet.

The apartment is over two floors and is spacious and reasonably furnished. The bathroom and kitchen are reasonably modern.

We would stay here again.

The only word of caution is that the steps from the street level to the apartment and the steps within the apartment are very steep. However it didn't cause us any problems (and we are in our early sixties!).

Spacious apartment for a couple or a family with small children

Spacious apartment for a couple or a family with young children within a 10 minute from the City of London. Number of bus routes in the immediate vicinity and Subway 500 meters. Super with all required front apartment. Required cleaning of the apartment more frequently

Thank you very much for your comments about our Western Dock Executive apartment in Amsterdam. Our apartment is located close to several public transportation stops but unfortunately this will not bring you to Londen in 10 minutes. From the Central Station of Amsterdam it is about 10 minutes walk to the former docks of Amsterdam where the apartment is located. With this self catering apartment we offer a cleaning once a week when booking more than 7 nights. Upon request we can arrange more (daily) cleanings during your stay.
