Always a nightmare to communicate with this company. I wish they provided names with claims so whoever they are can be accountable for their time wasting replies.

Beware this scam company will create new reasons to not pay valid claims.
Not the first time we have had this company circumvent their own terms and sadly probably not the last. This time they are saying that the because the buyers IP address is not in the same location as the mailing address they will not honor the claim. So if someone sends a gift, uses freight forwarder, or for any other reason is not at the receiving address they will try to deny your claim. This company has no backbone and should not be allowed to sell insurance services in the US.
In response to response. Only after we left truthful review did you pay the recent claims.
The company then proceeded to send me a letter stating they would no longer insure my packages.
Nice try but no this is 100% for your company Shipsurance bought through Shipstation as you only pay after forcing claimants to jump through many hoops and trying to create new terms. Anyone interested in our experience can contact us as we have exhaustive communications between our companies which clearly show your scammy tactics.

Not bad, buy they can do a little bit better ....
Purchased an insurance, made a claim, and got a response: "The shipment was not insured". Seriously? I contacted their customer service, they seemed to be professional and friendly. Finally, the issue has been resolved.

Shipsurance is absolutely a scam. Their policy provides so many loop holes for them to get out of paying the claim that you might as well throw the additional shipping cost in the trash.
I will never do business with this scam company again and fully intend to sue them for operating in bad faith and/ or false advertisement.
They waited until the customer returned the item to decide the claim and therefore rejected the claim under the customer requesting a replacement and returning the item. Putting it on the customer to take pictures is no way to operate. You will not be allowed to cheat people for long.

Shipsurance Delivers
As a small business, it's imperative to have great service and help when shipping companies damage items. No matter how well you pack, people and or accidents happen in shipping.
Because Shipsurance is so quick and accurate with payment of damaged claims, I even insure Pri Mail packages with it so not to have to wait months for USPS to reimburse. This helps my cash flow and keeps customers satisfied.

Shipsurance is an absolute scam and they know it. They ask for the value of what you are shipping and when it is damaged they refuse to pay, they will only pay based on what they think the value is. Even though I show them the actual cost and value. They lie and steal your money. They want you to put actual value so they can charge you more, But when times comes and actually need the insurance, they cheat you out of what you paid for.

I Paid for 5k insurance
I Paid for 5k insurance. I shipped my vinyl printer in for a tune up.when I got there it was broken open and peirce follow out of the box so they refuse it and took pictures.so when I got the package back I contacted pirateship.com and was told to file a claim with ups.ups picked my package up for inseption and then they lost it i dont know how they can lose a package 40 x 18x18.i fought with ups for 5 weeks and then they tell me I'm get $100 and told me I had to deal with pirateship.com. I send everything they asked for.today I received a Denial.
This is the reason they gave
The claim has been closed. The item(s) that were originally shipped were returned to the original shipper before we completed our review.
I guess I will have to get a lawyer to sue them.our judge here hates online bussiness so a 5k claim will cost much more after they have to pay my legal fees.next post is to the better bussiness Bureau

Shipsurance Denies Claim for Damage
I purchased their insurance through pirateship and they denied the claim citing their policy to deny claims if the packaging isn't sufficient to handle the normal rigors of transit. They have not provided specifications on what qualifies as sufficient packaging.

Scam artists who will steal your money
I have called Shipsurance and they have told me to expect a call about a claim denial. It was done through Pirateship and they did not convey the exact details of the damage and the followup detail to questions that I provided. I was told a couple of times by Pirateship and Shipsurance that someone would be contacting me to understand the details of the claim. I have made repeated calls to them and the person who is the representative is always “out of the office”
They have a horrible claims department and are not diligent in investigating the claims. They do not follow back up with customers and do not care to reimburse a customer for clear damage that occurred in shipping.
They are the worst! Do not ship anything of value with them! They will not pay if there is any shipping damage. They are a scam and will only take your money.

We are trying to get a claim paid for a shipment through Ebay it jas been a month ebay made me do the return have it shipped back to me now we face losing the claim for a 800 dollar item. They have made us jump through hoop afyer hoop I'm very disappointed

Don't waste your Money
Beware their damage claim policies are very strict and they act concerned when there is a problem. The bottom line is they're not going to help you out if a customer does not follow the rules which is totally out of the shippers hands. On top of that they said to contact when there was a problem and they dropped the phone call three times and then finally went to voice mail.

This company is a joke and very unethical. They try to weasel out of paying for any damage claims regardless that you have your items protected. They come up with the oddest reasons to not pay an insurance claim. I had bubble wrapped an aluminum mini cupcake pan but yet that is not sufficient enough for protection. This company should be shutdown as they don’t provide legitimate protection. Please do not feed this company anymore business. There is a reason why they have so many complaints. I will write my review on every platform there is so other people are not being deceived.

We use Shipsurance through our Shopify…
We use Shipsurance through our Shopify store for all of our international orders and have had wonderful experiences each time we've had to file a claim. Customers have no issues following their prompts to complete their portion of the claim and the waiting periods to file have never been an issue. Communication is clear and consistent throughout the claim process and payments are quickly received once the claim is processed. 10 out of 10 recommend to anyone who ships items of value, especially internationally when packages are often lost or damaged.

Shipsurance took care of my issue…
Shipsurance took care of my issue quickly. The box of cookies we shipped were ruined due to the carelessness of UPS however, Shipsurance came to the rescue and refunded my company the entire amount we insured the cookies for.
Great customer service and turn around time!
