Absolutely terrible experience. Scandia Rent operates in a dishonest, scam-like manner with misleading information and zero accountability.
Customer service is rude, unhelpful, and clearly does not care once they have your money. I strongly believe this company cannot be trusted and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Bad experience! Old Citroen, apparently "similar to VW Caravelle" engine light came on, during a trip, was told to drive to destination, with reduced engine power, no partial refund, no replacement car, no answer to email. They charge € 2000 in deposit for 30 days!
Stay away!

Hard to find office, had to call to someone come to it. Took more than 10 days to return the deposit, and i had to ask that, otherwise think that they wouldn’t do that.

We have booked our rental car via rentalcars.com and made a great experience. The pickup at Helsinki Vantaa was convenient and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The car we got was supplied with helpful amenities and modern assistance tools. The security deposit has been transferred back to our account around 10 days after the drop off at the airport. Would recommend.

Steer clear. I rented a car through an agent without knowing Scandia rent was behind the car rental. They did not bring the car to the pick up spot (blamed it on the agent), tried to pass a manual car for the prepaid automatic and refused to release the prepaid rental before paying an additional 40 euro fee - again would not explain it, but blamed it on the agent. When you prepay over $900 for a week's rental, you can't just say 'forget it' and you pay the extra to get the use of the car. They also gave me a car that was not cleaned after the prior renter. Horrible customer service.

Es gab 2 positive Punkte:
- Das Auto an sich war in einem einwandfreien Zustand und entsprach der gemieteten Kategorie
- das Depot (1500 Euro!) wurde vollumfänglich und problemlos zurückerstattet

Aber:
Wir hatten eine Reservation auf 8 Uhr morgens. Als ich vor Ort kam wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass sie gerade keine Autos zur Verfügung hätten. Zusammen mit diversen anderen Personen, denen es genau gleich ging, mussten wir dann 4 Std. vor Ort warten, bis wir ein Auto bekamen - direkt vom Vormieter und unkontrolliert sowie ungewaschen. Uns wurde versichert, dass dies Vermietung leid tue, und dass wir dafür eine Entschädigung bekämen.
Die zweite Überraschung dann beim bezahlen: Wir hatten eine Reservation, auf welcher klar geschrieben stand, dass die Einweggebühr ebenfalls enthalten ist. Vor Ort wurde uns dann mehr als das Doppelte vom angegebenen Preis abgeknöpft - weil das bei Ihnen so im System hinterlegt sei. Wir haben uns natürlich beschwert und wurden darauf verwiesen, dass wir den Betrag hier bezahlen müssen und dann eine Rückforderung über den Broker beantragen müssen. Das haben wir sofort gemacht und bekamen fortan trotz diverser Rückfragen nur mit Standardantworten und haben bis heute keine konstruktive Rückmeldung mit einem Lösungsvorschlag bekommen.
Der Kunde wird hier betrogen und der Kundenservice ist inexistent. Hände weg von dieser Firma!

Multiple errors on the car. The standard of the car much lower than advertised.
The car also had spiked tires (for icy roads) in the end of May - it was 20 degrees celsius and sunny...
Results in noise, poor handling, ripping up the roads. Like riding on a marshmalllow. Whats worse, it compromises my safety with poor traction and grip.
Stay away.

I booked at a fixed price based on the car I was supposed to get and the pick-up and drop-off times. I also paid extra for an additional driver. I was supposed to pay €100 when picking up the car but ended up paying €312 instead. When I pointed out that the amount didn’t match the information I had received earlier, I was told that I had “probably just paid a small booking fee.”

When I disputed the increased charge afterward, I was informed that Scandia Rent had upgraded my car (which they didn't tell me beforehand. The upgrade was totally unnoticeable) and that I had returned the vehicle outside their regular opening hours, which also resulted in an additional fee. In the end, I had to pay €212 extra because they gave me a different car than the one I had booked (something I never requested) and because I had to leave the car keys in their mailbox just outside the entrance instead of handing them to a staff member.

This is a dishonest company, and I will never use them again.

Voukra-auto toimitettiin minulle vajaalla polttoainetankilla. Huomasin asian vasta kun vuokrauksen päätyessä tankkasin tankin täyteen. Tällöin polttoainemittarin osoitin nousi selvästi korkeammalle kuin missä se oli saadessani auton.

I had the best car hire experience with Scandia, Christmas 2024. Carita couldn't do enough to help, meeting me at Kemi station and helping to resolve a problem re payment. I was a little nervous about the whole process of car hire and driving in Finland, but she put me completely at ease. Totally recommend Scandia, especially if you get to have Carita as the agent to facilitate the hire - thank you!

Sijaisauto tuli hinurin lavalla pihaani kun paluukyydissä lähti oma auto korjaamolle. Sijaisauton vuokran maksoi vakuutusyhtiö oman auton teknisen vian johdosta. Sijaisauto ei lähtenyt käyntiin ensimmäisenä päivänä joten se oli käyttökelvoton.Toisena päivänä auto käynnistyi mutta antoi näyttöön virheen teknisestä viasta/häiriöstä ja vie auto huoltoon. Autolla kuitenkin ajettiin korjaamolle (60km) hakemaan omaa autoa. Auto tankattiin palautuspäivönä kuten vuokra-autot kuuluukin tehdä, vieläpä enemmän bensaa kuin itse kulutettiin mutta siitä huolimatta sain laskun vuokraamosta tankkauksesta sekä polttoaineesta. Ei ihan putkeen mennyt tämä vuokrasuhde .. taitaa seuraavissa autotarpeissa jäädä tämä yritys listan viimeiseksi valinnaksi. Hävetkää !!

Englannista tullut asiakkaani vuokrasi tältä yritykseltä auton viideksi päiväksi. He lukitsivat 1500 euroa hänen luottokortiltaan, mutta yli vuosi on kulunut eikä rahoja ole vieläkään palautettu. Yrityksellä on todella huijarimainen tiimi. Vuokrasimme auton läheltä Helsingin lentokenttää. Heidän suhtautumisensa ulkomaalaisiin on erittäin rasistista. Emme koskaan enää vuokraa autoa heiltä. Olkaa tekin erittäin varovaisia heidän kanssaan!

Scandia Rent were helpful, accommodating and communicated well in English too. I wanted an extension by one more day and they happily took care of this; if you want the vehicle brought to you at the train station in Joensuu instead of the Airport, they can do this as well. I would highly recommend them for a quick and easy hire service.

We received a decision from the insurance company about using a replacement car, and all that was left was to arrange things with Scandiarent, including direct billing. This led to repeated phone calls and explaining the situation over and over to numerous different "customer service representatives" for two days. We were bounced from person to person and had to call the insurance company multiple times. At first they didn't know how to handle this. Secondly the issue was that we needed to cross the border because our repaired car was waiting on the Norwegian side. At some point, I lost my patience and calmly and politely explained the situation to yet another customer service representative, who then refused to let me speak and started listing conditions and how they had done everything correctly and their excusing was that the problem was on the insurance company's end. Why on earth can't they and insurance company communicate with each other? Why do they make the customer do everything on behalf of these companies? I called the insurance company and said I wouldn't agree to this anymore. We finally switched the car rental company and got a much lower price too. In my experience, it's a terrible company.

Ger Scandia Rent i Vaasa fem stjärnor. Superbra bilar till bra pris! Smidigt att hämta/lämna bilen och utomordentlig trevlig service som alltid varit tillmötesgående och hjälpsamma med mina bokningar.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!!! DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE! There is a reason they are much cheaper when comparing car rental costs it’s so they can TOTALLY rip you off once they have the card details. THEY HAVE TAKEN £1500 from our card and states its company policy to not refund it for 30 days!!!!!! The car was awful, multiple warning lights on. The company are not remotely interested. RUDE, IGNORANT, ROBBING, SHYSTERS.

BE VERY CAUTIOUS RENTING A VEHICLE VIA SCANDIA RENT ROVANIEMI AIRPORT.
- Customer service was appalling
- The vehicle supplied had engine faults and fault lights on the dashboard
- Unauthorised payments taken from my credit card
- No sufficient evidence to back it up
- Rude and abrupt member of staff at the Scandia Rent kiosk in Rovaniemi Airport
- We asked the man who runs Scandina Rent at the airport to check over our vehicle when we returned it, he said no all will be fine……please make sure your vehicle is checked before you leave and do not make the same mistake as we did, we have now had money deducted from our credit card, although we have provided Scandia Rent with photographic evidence that they are in the wrong.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS WE DID AND RENT A CAR VIA THIS COMPANY
We hired a car via AutoUnion/Scandia Rent kiosk in Finland at Rovaniemi airport, what an awful experience we had. It ended up costing us double the amount as they took unauthorised payments from our credit card when we returned the vehicle, which was in the same condition we we collected it and with a full tank of petrol.
The man who works at the kiosk in Rovaniemi Airport was very abrupt, rude and intimidating, when we returned the car we asked him to look around the vehicle to check all was ok but he didn’t seem bothered, now we know the real reason why, he had every intention of charging our credit card with unnecessary costs when we had left.
Please avoid this company unless you want to be scammed! I have emailed and spoken to the man who on the paperwork signed his name ‘EU’ and they do not want to take responsibility for their actions. They have taken money from my credit card for non legit reasons, surely this is against the law by doing this, they haven’t even been able to provide sufficient evidence when we have photographic evidence which has been emailed to them, but they simply insist we are wrong and they inform me they have no intentions of refunding our money. We have done nothing wrong and yet companies like this get away with ripping off customers.
The necessary authorities will be informed of our experience as it has been extremely stressful, I have emailed Scandia Rent and they do not want to know, I have emailed photo’s that are dated and have the times on them as evidence and yet he is still stating the evidence is not sufficient, what more do they want. Please avoid making the same mistake as we did, do not rent a car from this company, choose another company who will provide good customer service and not scam you!
