Safestore - New Cross Anmeldelser 

Very disappointed in your service. I was lured in by your £1 for 4 weeks deal. Despite leaving *after only 3 weeks*, I'm now being charged £190(!!), for a whole additional month I'm not even using, because I didn't give the full 2 weeks notice. This is insane. My unit is literally empty, and available to be used by someone else.

Grateful to Sue at New Cross for trying her best to work things out for me. But when lovely staff want to help you, but there's absolutely nothing that can be done because "the system has already issued the invoice" you're not dealing with real people anymore, just a profit-hungry corporation.

I would never have come anywhere near Safestore if I knew this would happen. This is a lot of money for an ordinary person, and the company will barely even notice it.

Not happy with the service and tone used in their contract. If someone has an existing contract and is paying via direct debit each month. Their is no need to send an email like that without explaining the reason properly to the customer. The term "Overlocking " when someone is paying should only apply when someone is owing. The reason should be explained as the lady explained on the phone but i had to call to clarify which was not good. Also, the digital portal used to sign is not user friendly, I have signed documents online . Safestore digital signing portal does not allow you to sign. When you click on the contract it says open in Google Docs when you now open it it allows you to sign but the person in the store does not receive the signed signature . When i called to check all i keep getting is come into the store. No phone support to get the problem resolve . When people have a busy schedule it helps to have someone polite and patient to help you native a system that is not user friendly, Instead i get a Safestore staff on the phone telling me to ask someone who is 13yrs old to help me navigate the the digital signature page or come to the branch.

I never write reviews but the WONDERFUL customer service my sister and I received from Anthony (Old Kent Road) was out of this world. Everything was so well explained and we knew we chose the right business to store our dad's items with. Anthony was patient despite arriving 5 minutes before closing, and took his time to explain options available to us. An absolute delight and asset to the company.

Great experience

Safestore New Cross - overall experience is as of a good standard - no issues with the eventual rented unit or the staff everything and everyone during the initial process was great!
However my only negative experience in the whole process was exiting/ending the let of the unit.
In a nut shell i had paid for 8 weeks of use up front with then intention of exiting after week 8… fast forward to week 7 and I emptied the unit gone to reception and asked how i go about giving the keys back for the unit… to be told i need to give 2 weeks notice before i could leave…. I then queried if i would be charged the full amount i was sent in a statement email showing a further 4 weeks (which i did not need) to which i was told no… more likely only the two weeks as i had now given my two weeks notice…. Fast fwd agen to the date of the new 4week charge and im charged the full £163 4 weeks bare in mind ive now paid for a unit with nothing left in it… i ring the store and i explain my situation… i ask if i can get back any payments as explained previously to which i was told ‘no you would of been emailed the terms and conditions’ while i admit the terms and conditions i was emailed did have these notes on it… i believe more couldmof been done with my particular scenario but aslo the store and most likely even the company as a whole should do more to explain this at the beginning of the process rather than expect an email of t and c’s is enough. As mentioned this isnt a negative review this is a good review but room for improvement. I would still use safestore and the store at New Cross in the future.

Not happy with their process. If someone is reviewing their contract to move to another contract still renting the same unit. I don't see why I have to vacate the and enter a new contract. It doesn't make sense. Too much back and forth in the process. Causing me too much stress. Not happy with it.

Deji was superb helping me from 6th & &th Dec 2024. 1stly I forgot my code for the padlock, he sold me a new padlock without fuss. I discovered that the skylight had leaked water into my 'room' and was puddling on the floor being absorbed by the storage cartons on the floor, ruining much of the contents. He kept me calm, helped me organise a clear up, advised me to take photos of damage and took the damaged stuff away as evidence.
The next day 8th Darren assisted me to make claims for the damaged and contacted my son, whose goods they were in Dubai.
Without these 2 members of your staff , I would have been distrort !! The company is lucky to have them as employees In your Old Kent Road Store

Mohammed was brilliant from the day we moved into Safestore. Really nice building and very well maintained.

Mohammed was friendly and kind, made my day stress free. I would highly recommend Safestore Newcross. :)

Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend this service enough, particularly Paul Flynn who moved mountains to help me out of a tight spot. Moving is stressful as is and having such a great service has taken a weight off my shoulders.
