Rubberduck sourced a non-standard shower panel for us from the manufacturer. Unfortunately the UK distribution chain for the brand failed to mention that they would not immediately place the order with the manufacturer. Jarred was proactive is chasing up both the distributors and manufacturers throughout the delays, and communication by email and phone was excellent. While the whole experience took months longer than quoted, this was due to fault with third party distributors (over which rubberduck had no choice or control) and the customer service with rubberduck themselves was excellent.

Great product, good price, rapid delivery and good communication. Couldn't want for more

Everyone has problems sometimes but its how you respond which is important. The response was excellent quick efficient and kept me upto date .

Exactly what I needed and great customer service.

On one hand I do (or did) like RDB - a local firm, deserving support, I'd used them in various projects occasionally over the last 12 years and they've been friendly, helpful, efficient and I enjoyed the experience. I'd have given them 5 stars.

However, this time around I'm sorry to report that they just messed me around and repeatedly fobbed me off ('told mistruths' as they say in Parliament).

I bought some stuff online, unfortunately needed to cancel it within the statutory 14 days, due to a third party letting me down. No items were delivered, so it was a simple refund of money paid via Visa. They kindly confirmed the cancellation the next day and said they'd refund the money.

Legally it's supposed to be returned to you within 14 days. I waited about a month before starting to chase them, was fobbed off a couple of times 'cheques in the post' etc. In the end I threatened to go to Visa for a refund and gave them another 7 days. Still no action. Another final chase, receiving an immediate email response from them, (full formal graphics and the lot) saying the refund had been processed. Waited another 5 days - still no money refunded.

I then made a formal complaint/claim to Visa and they had the refund made in a couple of days.

The big question is why lose a 'customer for life' over the refund of a few hundred pounds? Lack of efficiency? Poor cashflow? Whatever. They were always polite, but were not acting in good faith. It possibly even cost them money in charges to Visa.

It wasted hours of my time and caused me undue stress. I then read here that it's a common complaint. For these reasons I'm giving one star. It's probably a little harsh, but it is one way to get attention drawn to this risk, if other people deal with them and need a refund.

If that does happen to you - give them 14 days and go straight to your credit card for a 'Section 75' if you don't get your money back by then. Don't waste you time chasing them and hoping they will do it off their own back - even if they offer sweet words and promises.

Order delayed but no communication at all and I end up chasing multiple times

Agreed a price over the phone in relation to discounted items, even agreed to take more stock than I wanted as they wouldn't sell the items individually (4 instead of 3). Paid the amount promptly only to be sent an email the next day saying that someone walked into the storeroom the day I made payment and purchased 50% of the stock, so they couldn't fulfil half of the order. An error between the warehouse and store systems.

Their solution was to offer me 3 of the items for the price I paid for 4 or a full refund. Argued that their T&Cs covered them for these situations, but at the time those only applied to online orders through their website, not for orders over the phone. Ashley was the person I spoke to over the phone, and they were rude and unprofessional. Made it seem like their mess was my fault, even getting angry with me over the phone for insisting on my consumer rights.

Only reason I didn't file a small claim was because I managed to find the items cheaper elsewhere. Would stay clear of this outfit. Judging from other reviews, this is their standard operating procedure.

AVOID!

I ordered a shower enclosure and tray that were shown as in stock on their website. The following day, I received a call informing me they couldn't fulfil the order, so I requested a full refund.

Seven days later, I still hadn't received my money back.

When I contacted customer service, I was told it could take up to 14 days to process the refund.

Very disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend them.
