Had a property visit by Aston Busby recently. Was nice to meet them, and everything went smoothly.

I let myproperty on a 3 year deal through Romans. After a shaky 12 months or so, Alistair Schorah was assigned to me, as I moved to a managed service. He never came to me with a problem, just solutions
This solution based approach dramatically improved my experience and level of service I had previously received.. I would highly recommend Alistair when letting a property, as I can't fault him. So thank you for Improving my experience, and also exceeding expectations and perceptions, massivley.

The team at Romans where really helpful. We dealt with Anne-Marie, Sam, Kerry and Courtney. All of which were really helpful and we secured our rental property within a week of contacting them.

My partner and I were looking for our first rental together. Since arranging the viewing with Romans we’ve found them to be extremely helpful!
Two names in particular have stuck out for us - Andrei who conducted the viewing did so in a friendly and welcoming manner, coming across as knowledgeable and attentive.
Alistair was also very appreciated as he helped us to submit our offer and was always on hand and patient with any phone calls or enquiries which we had.

A huge thank you to Romans, Andrei and Alistair for their help so far and we look forward to working with them going forward.

This company is absolutely appalling in the way they treat people. They seem to believe that a forceful and bullying type approach is the best and most professional way to deal with their clients. We desperately needed somewhere to live in April 2021. I was 37 weeks pregnant and I was in and out of hospital with hypertension. We found somewhere with Romans but despite it being empty (previous tenants had moved out) we were unable to move in. This was apparently due to works that they needed to do to the property. The day after we moved in, that’s when they decided to start the work that should of been done. I was 8 days away from giving birth and incredibly unwell but Romans didn’t care. Our apparent property manager Jagdeep blamed the lettings manager Ellie for not getting the work done. The works continued when I returned home with a newborn and recovering from a Caesarean. Romans didn’t care at all. We were very good tenants, paid on time and kept the house in a lovely order. For two thirds of the 1 year tenancy we had weekly 4 hour cleaners. We had gardeners 2 hours fortnightly, treated and jet washed the driveway. This was because even though it was rented, it was still our home. When it came to giving notice on the property I wouldn’t let Romans in to show people round as early as they wanted to. They didn’t “want the landlord to be without money”. I wouldn’t let them because of how they behaved in the beginning of our tenancy. Fast forward to checkout and the inventory clerk commented on the fact it was clean and even made reference to the fact the garage had been hoovered. We used professional oven cleaners, cleaners, window cleaners and gardeners. When the report came in it states that everything needed cleaning leaving us with a £432.00 bill. I suspected this to be because we would not allow them into the property as early as they wanted. This really annoyed the lettings manager. Do not believe that the inventory clerks are non biased third parties. It seems the inventory clerk used was in fact an ex employee of Romans. That is most definitely not unbiased.
I was also advised by a Romans employee that the property needed to cleaned again anyway due to more works being carried out. In addition to this we saw on the report that we had left 1 drawer in the kitchen unemptied. This was reported to the property manager the next day. She tried to suggest that we could make arrangements after the cleaning costs were recovered. Eventually we made an appointment for me to collect the belongings. 30 minutes before the appointment I was called to say the contents had been removed and could not be located. Romans instructed their cleaners to dispose of everything stating it was our problem and we shouldn’t have left it. This drawer had some paperwork in including my babies birth certificates, prescription medication and various odd items. This is because I didn’t let them into the property. Their behaviour is absolutely disgusting and the worst bit is they are proud of themselves.

The landlords friends live next door and thanked us for being fantastic tenants!

I am the very unhappy landlord from a couple of weeks ago where Romans ignored my request to let the tenants know I needed to sell. NB - no response from Romans to that review to date.....

Just as a warning to other landlords potentially considering Romans, I am now in their complaints process. Stage one now has taken 2 different individuals although it implies only one (bearing in mind I already communicated with the manager before I started the “official” complaints procedure).

I need to move to stage 2 but my email address seems to have been blocked by Romans 😂 I’ve tried over several days to email & get bounce backs including from the main customer services email. I’ve just done a test email from my work email & my partner’s email and both have gone through without problems.

I understand tenants may not get to choose their agency, but landlords do get a choice to choose a professional agency so I put this out there in case it helps others considering who to manage their property.

Not the easiest of companies to deal with. In house selling and purchasing clear and honest information should be given, however on my experience this was not always the case.

Wokingham lettings should be proud to have Andrei Csomortani on their team. Constant communication everyday through the process, really friendly, knowledgable but most importantly exceptional at his job. Thanks for everything and I hope a promotion is on its way to you soon..
