RedDoorz Support: Apologies are not enough
We recently stayed at RedDoorz Resort at Ciater 3 in Indonesia and encountered conditions that were, frankly, unbelievable. The room was in a severely neglected and unhygienic state, with insects, dirt, damaged furnishings and other conditions that are clearly documented in photographs and videos.
The interaction with the property staff was equally disappointing. We were initially given a room that did not correspond to what we had booked. After complaining, we were offered a supposed upgrade to a Deluxe Room, which again did not correspond to the Deluxe Room advertised by RedDoorz. An additional charge was initially requested for this alleged upgrade.
But the most disappointing part of this experience is RedDoorz itself.
We contacted RedDoorz Support twice, providing a detailed description of what happened and photographic evidence of the conditions. On both occasions, RedDoorz apologized and told us that the matter would be investigated.
That sounds reassuring — until you realize that nothing has happened since.
With such clear and extensive evidence, I expected RedDoorz not merely to apologize, but to take responsibility for what is being offered through its platform and refund our money. Instead, we received apologies and apparently nothing more.
We have travelled through 96 countries over 17 years and have experienced every imaginable category of accommodation. This was by far the worst.
A company cannot simply advertise accommodation, collect the money, receive photographic evidence showing that the advertised standards are nowhere near reality, apologize twice — and then do nothing.
**RedDoorz Support needs to understand that an apology is not a solution. Responsibility and appropriate compensation are.**
