worked perfectly fine has managed to make itself worse in almost every way possible.
The new layout is cramped, chaotic, and feels like no thought was put into how people actually move around the gym. All the cardio machines have been shoved into a corner so tightly together that you can barely walk through properly. Getting to the changing rooms now involves squeezing past machines, the welcome desk, and a random table that serves absolutely no purpose other than blocking the walkway.
Apparently this redesign was meant to improve the gym, yet somehow there is now less usable equipment than before. We’ve gone from two Smith machines down to one, and the same has happened with leg equipment. The gym was already overcrowded before the changes, so naturally the solution was apparently to reduce access to equipment even further.
The new women’s section takes up a huge amount of space, leaving the main gym floor feeling even more cramped. The gym claims there are “more machines,” but splitting them off into separate sections doesn’t magically make the gym feel less overcrowded. It just means the remaining shared space is packed tighter than before. Equipment attachments and cable handles also seem to disappear into the womens section and never return, which makes workouts even more frustrating. so I have asked the staff to retrieve them a number of times. Seen one lady take some handles in and didn't return them. this is so frustrating and unfair for the other gym goers.
The old layout had an easy flow and made sense. Now machines seem randomly placed with no logic behind them, and the weights area feels cramped and uncomfortable to use. The overall atmosphere has noticeably changed as well, and not for the better.
As for the changing rooms, changing the entire layout clearly wasn’t needed. The old setup provided privacy and worked perfectly well. Now the changing rooms feel sparse and awkwardly open, so every time the door opens it feels like everyone is staring at whoever walks in. The clothing changing cubicles are also somehow more awkward and uncomfortable than before, which is quite an achievement considering nobody had an issue with the previous layout.
Meanwhile, the actual problems that needed fixing still haven’t been dealt with. The showers still stink, the water only stays on for about 3–5 seconds after pressing the button, and the old sinks and taps clearly need replacing as they are constantly broken. One tap regularly gets stuck running and floods the sink area. Instead of fixing those issues, the focus seems to have been on redesigning parts of the gym that nobody was complaining about in the first place.
I understand gyms need updating from time to time, but this genuinely feels like change for the sake of change — fixing things that weren’t broken while ignoring the things that actually were. I currently drive an extra 20 minutes to use this gym because it used to be worth it. After these changes, it really isn’t anymore.

Introduction session
The getting started session was very good, great chance to get to grips with equipment and to see the space layout. As a neurodivergent I feel that the space is really good and I don’t feel at all overwhelmed with people around me, even when it is busy. The women’s only section is such a great idea and it’s good to see a gym champion that. (Anyone who says otherwise is part of that bigger problem) I really feel motivated to get started!Thanks to the guy who showed us round, he was very professional and I’m so sorry that I’ve forgotten his name. Unable to get onto the app or into the gym …
Unable to get onto the app or into the gym and joined last weekend, messaged on messenger and it’s been 2 days and no reply. Not the best experience for a new joiner. Paid one month upfront and direct debit is active, need some help asap please.

Was no customer appreciation on site
Was no customer appreciation on site I have RP (eye condition) I wanted to see if I could do a trial session to see if I would be able to operate in the gym with my condition.was told no and that if I wanted to have a session that day I would have to sign up for a month. I found a day saver option but will still charged to see if I could physically cope with walking around your gym with a visual aid cane

Second visit to Pure Gym Warrington…
Second visit to Pure Gym Warrington North and although impressively well equipped and clean, plus it is lovely to be able to look out on trees, the music was way too loud away from the cardio area. If it is for “people to find a rhythm” as I have always been told, then it should only be audible in those areas. At times I found it very difficult to hear what my PT was saying. I find the pervasive beat not conducive to weight training or stretching. In this day and age of mobile devices and personal playlist surely it is time to turn down or even off (gasp! Shock! Horror) the music. Or at least have some quiet times during the day when the gym is quieter anyway.

Good space to exercise.
There was plenty of equipment and sufficient space for everyone to exercise. I would suggest some guides on how to use some of these apparatus safely. Otherwise a good experience and will be using the gym again.
