It was a very good experience as my first time in the gym in a long time and I'm only used with using hotel gyms so I am very pleasently surprised and impressed by the atmosphere in Colindale Pure Gym , Ionut and Valerie were absolutely amazing with my inductions .

WiFi hassle/ not enough mirrors
The gym is in the basement so ONLY can use WiFi. Trying to connect to the WiFi is a hassle. You need to go up and down just to get network for the code and reconnect to the WiFi and enter the code. It’s a pain. I was gonna leave the gym for this reason.
Not enough mirrors around the gym.
There’s only a small area with mirrors, the rest of the gym has no mirrors.
Lockers in the changing room are loose and dodgy.

Great gym for heavy training sessions. It resets expectations for what a gym should be focusing on substance over flashy fitness trends. Due to its location, it can get busy at peak times, but overall the facility is well-equipped with a good range of machines and free weights. The staff work hard to keep the space organised. Wish cleaning sprays were easier available.

Very poor experience at PureGym…
Very poor experience at PureGym Colindale. Staff especially the Asian female manager and some personal trainers were unfriendly and seemed to unfairly target my family with repeated emails about equipment not being put away, even though others do the same without issue. No Wi-Fi, and their website constantly cuts out. Equipments are outdated and water leaks from the ceiling. We’ve now switched to JET 24/7 a top notch gym facility with new modern equipments , friendly staff who are happy to help approachable and is also far better run. Would not recommend Pure Gym

The gym is very outdated
The gym is very outdated. It has the same equipment since its opening which was nearly 10 years ago. Other gyms have upgraded their facilities such as Edgware and Finchley. This gym should try to do the same. Also there is no mobile signal in the gym which is not good.

Easy Joining Experience, fully online.
I could join within 5 minutes. Everything was online.The PIN generation for entry, payment etc. - all in a matter of seconds!

Please bring back cleaning stations
Please bring back cleaning stations. You still have a few paper towel dispensers but with no cleaning fluid. One member of staff goes round wiping down equipment but that is neither effective nor hygienic. Please bring back the cleaning fluids.

PureGym prides itself on being able to offer state of the art fitness facilities to our members in a safe and welcoming environment. We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols, including the introduction of cleaning stations, to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste.
We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment.

Perfect to workout and feel good
I have had a great experience at PureGym Colindale. The friendly atmosphere is perfect for coming for a workout or a class, the Professional team are always there to welcome and help, classes are very effective and enjoyable. The availability of the equipment is very good.

Cheap in Price and Quality
PureGym in Colindale is one of the most affordable options in the area, but after three years as a member, I decided to leave due to several issues.
First, while the gym aims to keep membership costs low, this has led to a noticeable decline in service quality. They’ve removed all sanitizing stations, so there’s no longer any sanitizer or paper towels available for members.
Secondly, the lack of supervision allows people to bring in extra guests illegally, making the gym extremely crowded, which can make it difficult to train effectively.
Additionally, the gym is located in a basement, which often results in an unpleasant sewage smell throughout the facility.
Lastly, many machines and pieces of equipment are frequently out of order, and the recent train station refurbishment has further reduced space, as half of the gym floor is now blocked off by scaffolding.

Easy-peasy
Before joining I first wanted to arrange a visit to my local gym. I couldn't speak with anyone over the phone, so I contacted the X page and got a response in minutes. I then visited the Colindale gym and Adam was happy to show me around. Once I was happy with what I saw I went ahead to sign-up. Looking forward to getting back in shape.
