Hi Darren,

Your review omits several important details from our correspondence.

You placed order #154726 on 7 September and requested cancellation less than 20 hours later because reviews you had read online made you concerned about shipping and sizing. You had not received the garment or identified any issue with the product itself.

When you contacted us, your order had already been packed and was ready for processing. We advised you of the published 20% cancellation fee and asked you to confirm whether you wished to proceed. An allowance of up to seven days for processing or dispatch is a maximum timeframe, not a promise that orders will remain unprocessed for seven days.

You then replied:

“Don't cancel it. Just ship it.”

You also acknowledged that you had not read the cancellation terms and said you would take your chances with the sizing. Marni subsequently processed the order and asked whether you had checked your measurements against the size guide.

**Your order was not cancelled, and no cancellation fee was charged. You withdrew the cancellation request and instructed us to proceed with fulfilment.**

We provide actual garment measurements on our product pages so customers can assess sizing before purchasing. We also make our cancellation terms available before checkout. We cannot hold already-processed orders indefinitely because a customer decides to research third-party reviews after placing an order.

We respect your decision about whether to purchase from us again, but the account presented in this review does not accurately reflect what actually occurred.

Your review does not accurately reflect the correspondence concerning order #144902.

Your order contained a preorder item. When you contacted us on 30 July requesting assistance with a refund, we actually replied six minutes later, advising that the preorder was expected to arrive at our warehouse early the following week and explaining the applicable cancellation terms.

On 10 August, you emailed again requesting your money back. We processed the refund and confirmed this to you within minutes, advising that the payment provider could take 24–48 hours to release the funds.

The claim that you received “random silence” is therefore not accurate. Your emails were answered, the status of the preorder was explained, and your refund was processed when you confirmed that you wanted your money back.

We understand that waiting for a preorder can be frustrating. However, these products are custom-manufactured in limited runs, and the estimated shipping timeframes are disclosed before purchase. A preorder taking longer than expected is not evidence that a business is a scam.

You are entitled to be disappointed with the wait, but describing Pull The Plug as a scam while omitting the prompt responses and the refund you received gives prospective customers a misleading account of what actually occurred.

Hi MJ,

A preorder is not the same as purchasing a ready-to-ship item from a warehouse shelf.

Our preorder products are custom-manufactured in limited quantities, and the estimated shipping timeframes are clearly disclosed before purchase. Those estimates are not guaranteed delivery deadlines. Manufacturing, international freight and customs can all affect when the finished products become available for dispatch.

The fact that 20 days have passed since an order was placed does not, by itself, establish that anything has gone wrong. Nor does it automatically entitle a customer to a discount or refund simply because they are unhappy with the wait.

We also do not agree with your characterisation of our customer service. Explaining the preorder terms a customer accepted is not “passive aggressive,” and asking customers to respect those terms is not suggesting that they are the problem.

We produce premium, limited-edition merchandise rather than generic mass-produced stock. That process takes time, and we are transparent about it before customers place their orders.

You are entitled to prefer faster, ready-to-ship merchandise. But calling our business “bush league” because a preorder has not dispatched within 20 days ignores the nature of the product and the terms under which it was purchased.
