When I first started ordering from Proven Winners Direct they were great. Great prices, didn’t have to spend a fortune for free shipping and everything was packaged perfectly. Fast forward to a couple of years later and every year the price you have to spend to get free shipping goes up, the packaging is inferior now causing you to receive damaged plants and prices have went up. I understand about the economy I get it but peoples income isn’t going up either. It just seems to me every time a company grows and gets bigger the worse they get for cutting costs and delivering inferior products. If your company is growing and prospering why is your packaging and shipping and actual products getting worse? I was going to place an order but now you have to spend $150 to get free shipping and shipping is $20 so just crazy if you just want a few plants plus the prices went up which they already charge more than the big box stores so just not worth it anymore.

Ordered 2 mock orange plants. When the plants arived they were danmaged. Planted May first, plants barly alive oct 2nd. Same issue with other plants ordered at the same time. Company shows a Total lack of plant care and customer support. Sold thru Home depot on line.

First, let me state that the plants appear to be well grown. They were rooted cuttings, basically, and were not heat forced. The larger plants were in different boxes, and were packed better and took no damage. That said, the smaller plants were in four inch plastic pots, and the packing was so poor that half the pots were broken. They looked like they had just been thrown into the box with no attempt to protect them. When I got them I had to tear the box open (easy because it was soaked) and try to gently separate the plants from the mess of mesh bags, soil, and broken pots. I emailed the company and they replied promptly, saying "Golly we're sorry to hear that! Plant them and they'll be fine!" I sent a more detailed email, and was told thanks for the thoughtful feedback, they would speak to the shipping department. I would have given a higher rating, but having read these reviews it is clear that they know they have a problem, and they just don't care. I would say order at your own risk. Also, to get basic tracking info they want you to download an app. The package came when I did not expect it, and was sitting in the sun, gently baking. I think we found it promptly enough to prevent damage, but time will tell. The notification that the shipment arrived appeared the next day, and would have been far too late.

Proven Winners Direct’s shipping standards, customer service, and processes are deeply flawed. My original order was automatically canceled, likely due to out-of-stock items, prompting me to place a second order that was confirmed and tracked. When it arrived, the plants were badly damaged, pest-infested, and shipped in a soggy, upside-down box. I reported this immediately, but the advice I received was inadequate. Without my knowledge, the company also shipped the canceled order and later sent me a text demanding payment, falsely claiming prior contact. This was unprofessional and in violation of FTC rules regarding unordered merchandise. I never received a confirmation or tracking email for the first order. After I paid in good faith, they acknowledged a payment issue but ignored the fact that I was not obligated to pay for a canceled order, and they failed to address the damage, pests, and questionable communication practices.

I would have been too embarrassed to have sent out the pathetic twigs this company shipped to me. $60 for two little broken half dead twigs. I cannot believe this company values themselves and their product so poorly. I am an avid gardener and order plants from many nurseries but never ever again from this company. The 2 little plants I received I would not have paid $2 for on a clearance rack. This company sells very nice plants to the large box stores but what they ship out via online ordering is genuinely pathetic. They can do better.

They were so well grown, packed and sent to me....I ordered the Rockapoco Impatiens and Double Up Begonia.My planters immediately looked AMAZING!. A GREAT SIZE WAS SENT...I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT MY SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.

I placed an order for 12 plants on May 30th. I tried calling to cancel the order the following day but was unable to reach anyone so I left a message. I also sent an email requesting to cancel the order. I received a response the following Monday stating the following..."Thank you for reaching out. Our 'Ships Now' orders are shipped on demand. Due to the fast shipping measures we have implemented, we cannot make adjustments or cancellations to 'Ships Now' orders after they are placed. I am sorry for any inconvenience." The order hasn't even shipped yet and they are basically saying "too late". Also, none of the items I ordered stated they were "ship now" items. If they actually cared about their customers, this order could have easily been cancelled as the items have not yet shipped. Needless to say, I won't be ordering anything from them again and I would advise anyone to stay away from this site!!

Ordered four "At Last" rose bushes. Very disappointed, they are so tiny I'll have to grow them under grow lights for a year or two before placing outside. Just looking at them I think one is already on its way out, it's definitely struggling. Really a shame that such a large, well known company would send out plants like this. Received a clematis I ordered at the same time and it's large, healthy and beautiful. Placed this same review twice on their website with a photo and it's disappeared both times. I would give them no stars if it were possible. The plants arrived with the tops hacked off, apparently to make them easier to pack. They looked dreadful with bare sticks and leaves cut in half. I complained and they told me this was their normal shipping process. This is nonsense: I bought the same plants from them last year, and they were perfectly fine. So - bad plantsmen, and did not tell the truth. I advise you to stay away!

I ordered eight mini Vista petunias and only six arrived today. The plants were very small.Trying to get them out of their plastic pots was difficult,. Half of the root ball broke off. I was excited about this plant delivery service, but I won’t be ordering anything else.

Flowers looking NOTHING like the pictures. The box that I stored on my front screened in porch made the whole area smell of smoke.... 1/2 the plants are root bound. Two very expensive plants had yellowed broken leaves. I would never have bought these in a store because they look so unhealthy.

I ordered 4 Serendipity Alum perennial plants which were delivered late April. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of the plants I received. After numerous emails back and forth, I was told to go ahead and plant them and let them know how they looked in 2 weeks. At $20+ each, (total over $100 with shipping cost) I would have never bought these at that price at a local nursery. Will never order from this place again. Beware, what you see is not what you get.

TERRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!

I've had one of their Leaf joy H2O plants (Philodendron Congo Rojo)for a couple years, and it has been easy to care for, and grown well. However, the cork stopper got waterlogged and nasty over time. I contacted Proven Winners recently to inquire on how to purchase new corks, and they responded quickly. They requested my address, and sent 2 new ones, free of charge! I appreciate the care they showed in ensuring that my plant will be happy and healthy for a long time to come.

The one star is really for their terrible customer service. I would normally give their plants 4-5 stars. I've grown many PW plants over the years, but those were always bought at nurseries and I could pick up a healthy looking plant to bring home. Recently I did my first online order from them and I was absolutely shocked at the state the plants arrived in. Like others have noted, the plants were ridiculously tiny, and it was clear someone had done a hack job on them. But even worse, they had yellow leaves and were so wilted. They'd only been in shipping for 1-2 days, and I could not imagine that they had gotten into that state only due to shipping. After reaching out to the company, I was told that "pruning" was always done on summer plants and that a grower at their greenhouse said to simply plant everything and it would be fine. Well, I did what they instructed. The coneflowers I ordered clearly had root rot and chunks of them just fell apart into my hands. They have since died completely. The coleus I ordered hasn't died quite yet, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I have spent tons of money buying Proven Winner plants thinking they were top quality. This season I spent $6 on a sunbini which was marked full sun. I have noticed other local companies who grow sunbinis and state the plant is part shade. The PW plant died three weeks after I planted it. There have been other PW plants that have not done well too. What really bothers me is that their tickets are incorrect. I have stopped spending my hard earned money on Proven Winner plants!

I want to point out that Proven Winners and Proven Winners DIRECT appear to be separate somewhat, whereas when I've ordered from the "direct" website those seem to come terribly packaged and from a third party vendor. However, when I've ordered directly from ProvenWinners.com, my flowers have been packaged extremely well (four individual boxes inside a larger box with no chance of them capsizing en route). Flowers have always come in great condition from them. PW-Direct is another story...

Plants arrived dry with dead or dying leaves. Contacted the company, sent pictures and they said "you haven't watered them enough". They were already dying when they arrived.

Plants received were very dry, wilted. Planted them asap with good soil, watered well. Remain wilted 2 days later. Plants received were 1/2 the size I was expecting. Had bought 2 at Lowes day before in different color, way bigger and healthier for same price. Picture I took for evidence does not represent how bad in person plants look.

i’d rate this zero stars if possible. one plant was missing from my order, one was dead, several were dumped out of their pots, most were unlabeled. The customer service has been extremely unhelpful. i strongly advise you to avoid spending your money with this firm. i certainly will in the future.
