Bought a semi flex panel marketed as a high‑quality, durable marine solution. It suffered complete ETFE delamination within two weeks.
Although a refund was eventually issued, removal caused wasted materials and extra remedial work not to mention a yacht now defaced with glue.
DO not buy these panels unless you intend to replace at frequent intervals. They are cheap but clearly disposable.

I'm new to Solar panels in campervans and my vehicle came with NO manuals for any of the kit installed. Photonic Universe tech support continually helped me to get the right manuals and to connect via wi-fi dongle to set the charging parameters.

These guys are great - so helpful! The solar systems are excellent and when I had a problem with a connector (rare) they made one up and replaced it foc - a delight to work with these people - thank you Ryan, Ethan and the team.

Bought a 60a mains charger from them. Will not charge more than 51a. Also cooling fan very noisy on startup and then gets noisy again later. Weren't interested in solving any problems at all.

Be extremely cautious about this company. Their Solar panel failed on my 50k camper. It was like this from 2 years. It’s out of warranty. I got in touch in good faith, they identified it as their own and also the fault. They could have put it right but they chose not to. It’s obviously faulty and awful quality. But it was just out of warranty so they decided to wash their hands of the issue and leave me to it. I also have my own business and I wouldn’t dream of leaving my product with a customer like this, regardless of anything. Customer service is ok until they get your money and then your yesterday’s problem.

I bought a caravan with solar fitted and Photonic Universe controller and LCD, while i received the manuals for the Photonic equipment i was unsure of a couple of things with the solar installation, On contacting Photonic i was amazed at the quality of customer service supplied, exemplary comes to mind, other companies take note, Photonic know how to keep customers happy and coming back.

I bought 2 x 250w solar panels from them and when the panels arrived one was completely shattered. Rightfully they replaced it within a few days. However they refused to remove the broken one as it's not in their 'policy' to take them back and it's the couriers fault. So essentially they delivered me a large box of waste that I now need to dispose of. I wrote once and got a reply but the second time they have just ignored my email. Terrible customer service. Will never use them again

Lewis was fantastic in giving advice both on the phone and on email. Quick to respond and wasn’t an issue when advising on a cable to fit a piece of kit they didn’t supply. It’s these little interactions that provide trust.

I bought a 12v battery charger had over a year great kit no problems. So I bought a 24v version which sets my nest alarm in the garage of its over 30 days old so they won’t accept return The charger will not stop charging it pushes the float voltage over 28v and keeps charging now as a retired electrician my understanding is. If you exceed float voltage ie 27v on a 24v system and you keep charging the excess energy turns to heat which makes toxic gas hence. Smoke alarm going of. Now my old unit was serviced. So I put it back on it cuts out before 27v ie stops charging. The service centre are saying this unit doing its job hence SAFE I have explained everything to them. So am in a position where if I use the unit to prove it faulty. I could damage £10000 worth of batteries or set fire to my garage I real can’ believe this attitude from a manufacturer off deadly products. just imagine someone with now electrical experience leaving it on for 48hrs as this unit is designe to be left unattended

Had no idea what I needed, but Lewis talked me through all the options available re portable solar power kits for my tiny Freedom caravan. Given all the information and questions answered, I decided on 120W model. It arrived at 09.30 the next morning.
The local fixed solar power installers for caravans and motorhomes both use Photonic Universe products.

Just installed my new LiFePO4 batteries in my off-grid PV system. Thanks to Lewis at Photonic Universe who meticulously and kindly led me through the entire process. This is a trustworthy place with definitely guaranteed after sales.

This was my first experience with solar pv and I wanted to install the kit myself and do it properly. Lewis at Photonics Universe was a great guy to talk to and he was delighted to answer my stream of questions by phone or email. Once I had sorted a rig to support the panels on a corrugated roof, the kit was easy to put to together and it worked first time.
I would highly recommend Photonics Universe.

Sells sub standard products. Spent £2000 plus on 24v 300ah batteries which lasted only 6 months. Totally useless items and rubbish products, not fit for purpose. They will seek to find fault with your system to avoid any refund or warranty issues. There is no goodwill here whatsoever with this outfit.

Kitting a camper with solar power, new technology for me.
1. Unfortunate that this company has poor reviews that are complaints about failing equipment and replacement issues. My system should be operating by February 2024 so I’ll keep you updated.
2. As a retailer even if having a bad day usually inadequate response to customers’ needs is down to poor management or poor training
3. My purchasing experience with this company has been delightful for which I thanked them.
We rely on good communication especially when developing an understanding of the technology
3. Frankie contacted to confirm if I had ordered a 2nd Solar charge controller £90 in error, which I had and he cancelled for me. Lewis has also been helpful and responded rapidly to my queries
4. Purchased reduced price 300W panel, dent in metal but was assured it functions as normal with all warranty in place.
5. With so many good reviews I would like to believe that this company is always aspiring to achieve its best outcomes

Oct 2025 Update. All working well, no complaints

Good coms, good delivery. Sub standard product. Spent £1200 on a 24v 300ah battery bank. I’m now having to replace it only 15 months later. Poor advice, unsuitable product for application. Absolutely crap! Go Lithium, which they don’t supply. Look elsewhere for proper up to date advice on any solar application. Their products are out of date, over priced and not fit for purpose.

Bought a smaller off grid package with solar panels, inverter and AGM battery pack for DIY build. This company could have not been more helpful. Lewis and Tom were amazingly helpful and patient. Ours is an unusual set up as we have a split power supply (1 each for our home and business). I also wanted to use mains supply as back up using an automatic transfer switch. Very easy to install and operate. The inverter is highly flexible so it's possible to reconfigure and upgrade at any point (battery upgrade to Lithium is possible though the supplied AGM kit is impressive). Our power use for the house is modest so it works really well for us. I'll update this review after the forthcoming Scottish winter. My only criticism is the lack of any communication from logistics which created considerable difficulties for delivery drivers,

Bought a complete solar kit back in 2019
Had problem after problem with missing parts,broken parts
Eventually after dealing with arrogant and quite honestly rude assistants u got it working
It lasted just over a year then the inverter blew
Bought a replacement and that blew after a similar time
Now replaced with a new inverter that I use with my panels and no leisure batteries
Works like a dream
Lesson learned

Awful, avoid at all cost. Unorganised shambles. They will mess you about to try and avoid honouring warranty

Purchase there ICONICA 5500W 48V HYBRID GRID TIE / OFF-GRID INVERTER WITH 6500W 500V SOLAR INPUT, DUAL MPPT AND 60A MAINS CHARGER and 24kw battery bank.
After numerous emails and telephone calls they could not get this system to work correctly. Have change to Solis and pylontech batteries and works wonderful we no problems.
What ever you do take my advice and DO NOT purchase this system it's useless and not user friendly.

Had an issue with a charge controller I purchased from them. Once I was put in touch with the technical team (Joshua), they replaced the unit under warranty without issues. Can't fault these guys, won't hesitate to use them again.
