The car now makes a terrible noise when driving getting worse all the time, they are not concerned for safety yet book it in for 6 weeks away to check. Arrange a curtsey car etc yet when I check the day before I get punted from different people and eventually get told they don’t have a car for me I’m so sick of the customer service horrible people who all talk down to you, never again
One star is one star too many
From the very start, the process was less than ideal. I had to chase two salespeople just to buy the car—a red flag I now regret not heeding. After flying from Heathrow to Aberdeen to pick up an 11-month-old pre-registered demo Range Rover, the transaction initially appeared smooth. However, the issues that followed were both wholly unacceptable for a car of this calibre.
The car had clearly been smoked in. Initially, I dismissed the possibility, thinking it absurd for a Range Rover, but by the time I was halfway into my 500-mile drive home, the smell of smoke was overwhelming. I had to stop mid-journey to buy an air freshener to make the rest of the nine-hour trip bearable.
The problems didn’t stop there. Five hours into the drive, the radio stopped responding, the wireless phone connection made my phone overheat and shut down and the car needed a software update. The key battery also required immediate replacement. Why were these issues not picked up in its presale checks? I wonder if they were actually competed properly if at all.
Two days after arriving home, I spent £180 on a professional valet to address the smoke smell, during which the valeter found cigarette ash in the rear armrest (which I saw). To make matters worse, the valet also pointed out multiple scratches on the car that I had specifically been assured by the salesperson would be addressed by the “workshop” prior to purchase.
When I raised these issues, Peter Vardy offered £60 as a goodwill gesture toward the valet cost, which I declined, stating that I would rather return the car entirely. Only then was the full valet cost reimbursed, but the explanation offered—that the previous driver “no longer works for the company”—is both unsatisfactory and appalling. This was supposed to be a demo car, turns out it wasn’t, it was used daily by a member of staff, I guess the mileage should have been warning enough.
A week later, I am still waiting for my finance reimbursement, despite sending two follow-up emails.
The scratches were not picked up by the assessor even though the sales person pointedly said he could see them when we spoke on the phone and after I specifically questioned the condition of the car before the purchase. The response from
Peter Vardy is that they “weren’t noticed” by the assessor which leads me to believe the assessor is a figment of Peter Vardys service departments imagination or this assessor can’t do the fundamentals of their job, this is also so true of the company who valets the cars before sale. I have received nothing more than weak apologies for what amounts to multiple failures in quality control and customer service.
This experience has been nothing short of disgraceful. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I bought a car last December from Peter Vardy Aberdeen Carz, no they are closed, my car broke down , I’m telling them my car is broken and answer from them is we wouldn’t be able to assist any further as we no longer have a garage in Aberdeen that would look at the vehicle however if the third-party can confirm what is wrong with the vehicle the warranty company will confirm if they will cover the costs.why that’s it’s my problem that you don’t have garage in Aberdeen, I bought car from you, deal with problem, why I have to look for a third-party.

I haven’t had a great experience
I haven’t had a great experience . On my first call to enquire about a used Landrover a £500 deposit was taken to remove the car from sale while the numbers were crunched, at their recommendation. The numbers didn’t add up as Peter Vardy offered me a much lower PX on my own car than other Landrover dealerships. I have been waiting / chasing (and still wait ) for the £500 to be returned to me . Emails are not responded to and calls are not answered . I’m now buying a car from a different Landrover main dealer (Hatfields) and the experience couldn’t be more different.

From start to finish service was excellent. Put my F-type Jaguar in for annual service and Mot, Samantha was my support assistant who kept me up-date, organised curtsey car and at the end made sure I was happy with the service. I received a video half way through process showing taking me though MOT check. Highly recommend, will be back next year.

Terrible company
Issues with Peter Vardy:
Extremely poor customer service, refuse to engage via email despite repeated requests due to difficulty answering phone at work and option given as preference on online forms.
Rude and disengaged staff.
1st attempted purchase:
Advised specifically to inform insurers of modifications made to the car at initial progress with purchase. When this resulted in excessive insurance premiums being quoted resulting in me wishing to cancel the purchase, reversed their advice and said to not declare to insurers in blatant attempt to secure a sale even though this would result in an invalid insurance policy.
Failure to return reservation fee of £500 despite stating this would be done, eventually received back over 6 weeks later and only after pestering.
2nd attempted purchase:
Advertising a car and deal at one price, taking reservation fee then changing price on vehicle and re advertising, without any contact with me nor acknowledging need to return fee.
Still awaiting return of reservation fee on this vehicle which they proceeded to sell despite taking my reservation fee and then not communicating about any issues.
Ignored the issues of their "false advertising" on the car that they increased the price on, by £12000, following my reservation.
Eventually stated they would put together a favourable deal on a different vehicle as acknowledgement of the issues with false advertising and failure to return reservation fees etc. Offered a car with £1400 "discount" but reduced the value of my trade in by £2200 from previous offer.
Refused to provide contact details for complaints department not senior manager.
Do not deal with this company.

Awful Customer Service. Avoid
Bought a Discovery Sport from Peter Vardy in Aberdeen (dealt with Kieran) but customer service has been awful. I noticed scratches on the window when I went to pick the car up. They said they'd fix it but went weeks of chasing before they actually took the car back to fix. When then returned the car, I noticed that there were still scratches. I've contacted them a number of times to discuss but they are just ignoring me now they've been paid! Very poor service. Do not buy a car from them.

Even one star is to much
I purchased a car from Peter Vardy just over a year ago, but due to personal illness and significant family issues, I am only now able to fully reflect on my experience. In short, it was appalling. From the outset, I was misled and deceived. I was initially told the car would come with two keys, only to be informed later that cars under £10,000 don't come with a second key—a blatant lie. Worse, the underside of the car was so rusted that my exhaust completely shattered due to severe corrosion. Despite bringing this to their attention and receiving endless run-arounds, the car continued to have multiple issues even after repairs.
I filed several complaints about how I was treated and the false promises made, only for Peter Vardy to take action after I mentioned returning the car. Even then, their customer service was abysmal. The level of rust for the age of the car was disgraceful—something my qualified mechanic friend said was shocking and no respectful company should of sold a car in that state , remarking that the car looked as though it had been kept on an oil rig in the north see to get that much rust for a car if it's age. When I raised my concerns, I was met with dismissive responses, as if they couldn't care less once the sale was finalized. Offering me a second set of keys as compensation was laughable, and unsurprisingly, I never received them, despite chasing it up multiple times.
Adding to my frustration, I recently discovered discrepancies with my finance agreement. The interest rate was not what we discussed at the time of purchase, and upon review, the signature on the agreement is not even mine. I understand that I should have reviewed the paperwork more thoroughly at the time, but I trusted that the deal we agreed on was the one I signed for. Now that life has calmed down, I’m appalled to find myself locked into a finance agreement I would never have agreed to. Given these experiences, it’s no surprise the showroom I dealt with has since closed, and the salesperson who handled my sale was let go.
Peter Vardy is a disgrace of a company. I am left feeling angry and deceived, driving around in a car that I overpaid for because they couldn't deliver honest and professional service. I will be pursuing the finance issue, even though I may be too late, but I felt compelled to warn others of the dishonest practices I encountered. Avoid Peter Vardy at all costs.

I bought a car from Peter Vardy Carz in February 2024. I paid cash in full. Had to wait a few days for a damaged alloy to be repaired. I also paid £180 for Road tax. Car was delivered to my home address a few days later than expected, with no Road tax! I was provided with 2 keys, one for my Ford and another for someone else’s car! Four months later I am still waiting for my 2nd key! I will never buy a car from Peter Vardy again. Once they have your money they have no interest in the most basic of customer care! They are an absolute disgrace to the motor trade! Steer well clear!

Exceptional Customer Service.
All the Staff were so very pleasant from when we first entered the premises.
Lynne guided us to the waiting area and as it was my Husbands Birthday provided an amazing Bacon Roll, coffee and placed a Happy Birthday Candle on his roll.
This was so very thoughtful and so kind.
We were given a lift down town and
awaited a phone call to say when my car was ready to collect.
On return we were greeted by Keira where she presented my Husband with a Bottle of Prosecco and a Birthday Card.
I drove away knowing my car is perfect and feeling really valued.
Excellent customer service.

Terrible experience which still isn't resolved
I don’t leave 1 star reviews lightly however my experience of dealing with Peter Vardy has been appalling and I feel I have no choice, there were multiple issues with the vehicle, including poor checks before sale and the responses from customer services are far from prompt, they have now taken more than 2 weeks to respond to a fairly basic email.
Further complaint information below but editing here to say that after the initial response I received from Peter Vardy to this review on here and a generic email, there has still been no further contact with an actual resolution. This has been well over 2 weeks and enforces my suspision that Peter Vardy customer service are more interested in appearing to respond to issues on Trust Pilot than actually dealing with customers. Shocking service on what could be a very easy issue to resolve.
I agreed to purchase this vehicle in November 23 while they had Black Friday offers on which included £250 worth of Screwfix vouchers, through no fault of his own the sales agent I was dealing with went off on sick leave and the purchase of the van was held up during this time which was not an issue, however, when the keys were handed over I enquired about getting the vouchers and was told that as the went through in January these were no longer on offer, despite the fact I had agreed to purchase in November. The sales agent did try more than once to say that these wouldn’t be supplied but with a complaint to a more senior agent this was resolved.
Within a week of having the van 2 different warning lights were on the dashboard, this was booked in with service department, no courtesy vehicle was offered, I had to ask about this myself. I had to chase answers on the works that were carried out, which were:
Replaced adblue tank
Carried out service
Replaced O/S/R Tyre
Replaced ad blue injector
Also
Wipers
Oil Filter
Sump plug washer
Screenwash
Engine oil
I would suggest this a lot of work to be carried out on a van that should have been inspected prior to sale, not sure how things like wipers, screenwash, tyres, engine oil are not checked before handing keys to a customer so it appears vehicles aren’t properly checked prior to sale
I have also since noticed that the auto stop/start function is not operational. This was reported to Peter Vardy sales agent, again no reply, I sent a complaint to Peter Vardy customer service raising this and highlighting the other issues around the purchase of the vehicle. Yet again a generic response came in but no follow up, after chasing a response on this I was eventually told that I had to get in touch with Arnold Clark as the franchise had been bought out and they would take care of warranty faults. It took customer service 4 days short of a month to reply with this simple answer.
After booking the van in with Arnold Clark, explaining the situation with warranty, I received a call from them saying they were going to charge £200+ to fix the auto stop/start, when I raised this was warranty I was told it only got reported to them outwith the 90 day warranty, despite me reporting this to Peter Vardy twice within the time period, so there was clearly no information shared on from Peter Vardy regarding this.
I have put a complaint into Peter Vadry regarding this and, yet again, I have received a generic response but no further details. This has now taken 2 and a half weeks with no meaningful reply.
I seriously regret purchasing from Peter Vardy and would not do so again myself, as well as sharing how bad the experience was with family, friends and colleagues.
Peter Vardy customer service seem to be pretty prompt at replying to reviews posted here, I would suggest they maybe take better care of customers with actually complaints and resolve these, there may be fewer 1 start reviews if that was the case.

Car sold with no Mot 9 months waiting on repair
Car sold with no tow bar electrics , seized door locks , parking light not working. supposedly after 100 point check or what ever it is the boost. Floor mats ordered never came cancered after 3 months of waiting. within weeks of buying the car went into limp mode in and out the workshop few times over 3 months never found the problem. Head gasket blown after 3 months put it back 7 months later get it back . They said it would be cleaned and fueled no fuel and moss growing on it from sitting for 7 months no key lock fixed. Told the car was all good to go handed the keys to find out later they gave me it with no MOT on it to drive away . 3 weeks later breaks down again limp mode another 2 months later sitting in the workshop they want four figures to fix it £300+ for new door lock. They ignore emails and calls , dont call you back and lie to you .

Bought a ford Puma less than 2 year…
I recently bought a ford Puma from Peter Vardy (Carz).
It was purchased from the Aberdeen Branch which has now closed. I approached the Motherwell branch about a few issues with the car, the 2 front tyres that the tyre company check have approximately 6 weeks of life left in them before needing replaced. they also never taxed the car when they said it would have 6 months on it. There is no inflation kit incase of an emergency. When I approached the Motherwell branch they just said that was all the tread that they would normally have on a 2nd hand car, the car is not even 2 years old yet. they have redeemed themselves slightly by compensating me for the tyres, nothing elso was forthcoming.

Be carefull with petervardy aberdeen selling bad cars
bought my car.from October7th the car showing oil level low. and full tank of petrol I am getting 275 mile only .I visit the showroom more than 12 times. Still now its not rectifyed.now last month they took my car and replaced with a courtesy car that also not comfort for my full family. almost 20 days they are not giving any updates. Every time I am calling and asking updates.as per the after sales team and customer service team they don't know when the car will be ready. And they are not ready to refund or replacement. Now as per the service team they are going to send the car to vahuxall on march 18th .very poor service and the below is the reply

The Customer Service was really good. The process from arriving to getting the car was very quick, the staff gave us refreshments and Derek Wood helped us sort out the last of the paper work. We recieved the car then were told about some of the little quirks that the car had. We were able to leave with the car soon after.
