7 Microbrite pool lights failed within 3 years one after another. These lights were professionally installed at about $1200 each. Failed lights had water intrusion around lens or absurd cracks in the body where there was no stress. Never use these.

My experience with trying to get any customer support has been terrible, I’ve tried multiple times over the last few months to contact support only to be placed in a never ending loop with nobody answering and after 20-30 minutes just giving up.have .

Pentair 50SQ FT Pool Filter
We purchased a house with a Pentair 50 SQ FT filter system. I have never seen this system in my life and did some online research and watched some videos. After all the research and videos I was chuffed to have such an "advanced" pool filter system which we do not see often in South Africa. This turned into my biggest nightmare as I am still to this day wondering how the previous owner kept the pool clean. The system does not filter at all. It pushes all the sand and debree that the pool cleaner picks up back into the pool. I have replaced the cartridge filter, the bleeding socket and o-rings and the system still does not filter. The feedback from their customer support is horrible leaving you with that shrugging of the shoulders feeling. After spending thousands, I ended up spending a lot more to now replace the pump and filter with a normal sand filter which I will be using the Glass Filtration Media or Clinobrite with. To top it off, the Pentair Kreepy Krauly also just stopped working yesterday. Never EVER do I want a Pentair product ever again!

Je l'ai ramené vers le vendeur afin de le faire réparer. 3 mois après il est toujours chez ce vendeur qui n'arrive pas à les contacter. J'ai fais les démarches de mon coté et bien reçu un mail me disant qu'il transmettait ma demande dans le service concerné. malgré ma relance, pas de réponse. SERVICE APRES-VENTE INEXISTANT ! fuyez cette marque, vous voila prévenu !
PentAir Customer Service is Awful
I upgraded my PentAir pool controller to their latest digital interface. Within a week of installation a couple of boards blew up. My dealer has been waiting almost a month for the 2nd warranty part. When I called PentAir I got the bureaucratic justifications and excuses and no promise for a date for the part.
Poor quality
Brand new in ground pool with Pentair equipment installed. Heater does not work. Pool installer came to service, changed 10+ parts of the brand new heater, had Pentair tech on phone for assistance. Still not working. Ow waiting for Pentair tech to visit and service. At what point should a new heater be installed? Also. After 1 week, light circuit breaker in Pentair panel went bad. No lights. Still waiting for replacement breaker to be installed. After $100k+ I’m disappointed in Pentair products and response. Is going into 3rd week of problem.
My broken pool pump is less than 8 months old…
My pool pump is less than 8 months old and has stopped functioning completely. The pump is still under warranty but after not responding to emails and messages to begin with ( for over a week) they then direct the complaint to a local subcontractor who will take 5 business days to respond. 2 weeks without a pool pump in Queesland is a long time!

I would give it a zero if I could. Worst pool equipment I've ever owned in my 30+ years as pool owner. I bought the timer/ pump combo fall 2023 and had it professionally installed. A year and a 1/2 later (out of warranty) the timer quit. This is a very expensive piece of equipment!! And it's a POS! Lessons learned 1. NEVER buy pentair again! 2.buy timer and pump separately not as a combo unit so that way if one breaks you have a much less expensive repair cost. 3.buy Hayward. Never had a problem with Hayward in all my years of pool ownership.
New Sta-Rite Pumps Failed--Double Installation
Purchased a new Sta-Rite Pump (owned by Pentair) through a local parts store for my Spa. Paid to have it shipped to my house and installed by a professional. The pump did not work so I had to take time to make a warranty claim, loss the use of my spa for over a week and then had pay the installer again to replace the non-working pump. The second pump worked fine. I wrote Pentair customer service to ask for them to reimburse the $100 additional installation fee. I got an email back that simply said, we do not do that. No reason, no apology just "No". I have a pool and will stop replacing parts and pumps with Pentair and go to Jandy since they do not stand behind their products and have terrible customer service. I wish I had visited this site before I ordered the pump.

Called Pentair technical support to answer various questions I had for upgrading pool equipment on a new home purchase.
Waited on the phone for over 20 minutes when a lady said thank you for calling then without hesitation she disconnected the call.
Now being upset with Pentair I said I will not purchase their equipment.
I then reached out to a well known pool supply company in my area.
After lengthy discussion on the pros and cons of both Pentair and Hayward equipment they agreed that Hayward was much better than Pentair.
Thank you Pentair customer service for hanging up on me as If I would have spoken to you I probably would have made a huge mistake costing me thousands of dollars for buying inferior equipment.

Pentair won't help with NEW broken heater
We hava a new Pentair heater within the three year warranty. We have not used the heater much and it's already broken. Pentair will not replace it because they say the warranty is only two years if your other pool equipment isn't Pentair. Also, they will not even send a technician out to help. No help at all. Our contractor went out of business, so going to Pentair was our only option.
I do not recommend Pentair Intellibrite…
I do not recommend Pentair Intellibrite pool lighting products. In the past 10 years, I had to replace 2 Intellibrite 5G lights. The latest only lasted 3 years. I had 2 Master Electricians verify that my electric and wiring is ok.
I will not invest another $1,000 in this defective product knowing that it will very likely fail again. Pentair Customer Support is not helpful and not empowered to make decisions outside of their warranty terms to retain customer loyalty. I will be in search of a higher quality light solution than what Pentair has proven as a low quality product.
Worst customer service
Bought an expensive pool heater - Gas/Heat pump Hybrid UltraTemp. Worked fine for 4 years. Then ist started to trip the circuit breaker. Customer service demanded serial number, not able to help where it is located and telling me to search in a wrong place for it. After I found it (disregarding their advice of it's location) they just informed me that it is out of warranty. Did not connect me with ant Pentair technician for repairs. I ended up fixing it myself for cost of 20 dollars of spare part. Worst customer service ever. Will never buy another Pentair product if I can avoid it.

Pompe Pentair Ultraflow Plus (Modèle : 2,00 CV - tri - 27 m3/h) achetée le 26/04/25 chez AZIALO, reçue assez rapidement. La pompe ne s'amorce jamais complètement. Après plusieurs essais et vérifications des tuyauteries, pas de fuite détectable dans le circuit. J'ai fais venir mon pisciniste qui confirme qu'à priori le problème vient de la pompe.
Difficulté à obtenir un retour garantie... finalement accepté le 20/06. Pompe arrivée pour expertise chez le distributeur le 24/06, on m'annonce 10 jours de délais pour l'expertise. Après plusieurs relances on m'annonce que la pompe doit être expertisée le 9/07... Aujourd'hui le 15/07 c'est silence radio.
Je contacte aussi Pentair et je reçois un mail de Sophie Grillot qui m'informe que PENTAIR n'a pas de centre d'expertise ou de réparation !!!! Non mais sans blague ????
D'après elle la responsabilité du SAV incombe au distributeur du revendeur. No comment.
Bref, ma piscine est totalement vert foncé depuis 2 mois et je n'ai aucune solution en vue.

En réalité, la plupart des éléments sont garanties 90 jours (3 mois), c'est ce que le service technique vous dit lorsque vous avez un soucis avec leurs pompes !!!
Pièces d’usure telles que les paniers, couvercles, caches de ventilateur, ventilateurs, joints toriques, liens, jauges, batteries, matériel de fixation, allumeurs, sondes de mesure, fusibles, joints mécaniques et accessoires de maintenance (c'est extrait de leurs conditions de garantie)

J'ai acheté une pompe Pentair Superflo P-SFL-101 le 13 décembre 2022 (ma piscine était hivernée) elle a tourné 1 an et j'ai eu un problème de fuite au niveau du corps de la pompe (garnitures mécaniques) la première saison (fin de l'été 2023), le revendeur l'a envoyé en SAV et l'année dernière, pas de soucis pour la saison 2024 de mai à septembre. Je viens de redémarrer ma piscine il y a 15 jours et le même problème se reproduit. La pompe est sous la garantie des 3 ans. J'envoie un formulaire de demande de garantie à Pentair Europe, ils vous renvoient vers un distributeur local, qui fait une demande à un revendeur régional qui vous répond que c'est les garnitures mécaniques qui ont lâché alors que votre pompe à juste fait 2 saisons et qu'elle est passée déjà une fois en SAV et que c'est de la pièce d'usure !!!!! garantie de 90 jours !!!! Alors on ne prend pas en charge alors que votre pompe fuit dans votre local piscine !!!!

Mon ancienne pompe Hayward (mêmes caractéristiques, même débit et même puissance, 1CV) à tenu en lieu et place 8 ans et elle coutait 2 fois moins cher !...J'ai vu que le siège de Pentair France est à Carros dans le 06 j'y suis allé, c'est une boite au lettres, il faut tout pour fuir les consommateurs et les décourager dans les démarches de prise en charge des garanties de leurs produits défectueux !!!

Pentair sand filter disaster !!
I bought a Pentair sand filter for my below ground swimming pool in June 2022. It worked well for two years and then this year, developed a leak between the valve collar and the filter tank.
With the help of my pool installer, we examined this area and found that the collar would not Tightly fit against the tank in a 3 inch area. This allowed the O-ring to bulge out and the tank to spray water.
My pool installer tried a new O-ring and O-ring bulged out, causing a leak. We tried epoxy to the O-ring and this still did not work. In fact, the entire valve assembly blew off from the tank.
I sent pictures of this to Pentair claiming that it was a manufacturer defect of the dome of the tank that is causing the problem.
I have placed numerous phone calls with Pentair. Every Pentair representative said that the tank is no longer under warranty and there’s nothing they can do.
My argument is that this is a manufacturer defect in the tank that will not allow the valve assembly collar to securely fasten to the tank. Because it is a manufacturer defect, I think they should replace the tank.
Pentair refuses to help me.

Update: Pentair Finally Honors Pump Replacement
After multiple complaints and threatening to switch brands, Pentair agreed to replace the faulty pump—just one month out of warranty.
They still refuse to cover the heater’s broken LCD and denied the 3-year extended warranty, saying my three product purchases didn’t happen on the same day.
Glad they stepped up on the pump, but it shouldn’t take this much effort. Still disappointed overall—and reconsidering future business with Pentair.
Disappointed in Pentair's Customer Service
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Pentair products and support. In May 2023, I purchased a Pentair pool pump and heater. Just over two years later—in June 2025—both failed: the pool pump motor died and the heater's LCD stopped working. I also bought a Pentair pool light June of 2023. (which if you buy 3 products your warranty is then upgraded to 3 years) They denied my claim and said for the extended warranty they have to be bought on the same invoice.
While I understand warranties have limits, both products failed just one month past the two-year warranty. My pool company confirmed the pump motor was faulty, and I contacted Pentair to ask for a goodwill replacement. Unfortunately, they denied both the warranty claim and the goodwill request.
It’s incredibly frustrating that Pentair won’t stand behind their products or consider loyalty and proximity to the warranty window. I expected more from a brand that positions itself as premium. After investing in multiple Pentair products, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere—clearly, customer satisfaction is not their priority
