Creative Photography is my second course with Paul, having attended Taking Better Pictures last year. He gives lots of tips and advice, without blinding you with science! Practical sessions are great fun, he sets homework which is reviewed each week and a project to work on over the term culminating in an exhibition. I am now much more confident in using my camera creatively without it being on auto all the time!
Have thoroughly enjoyed Paul’s course and have not only learnt lots but have had the chance to meet people as interested in seeing the world through the camera lens as I am. Paul is obviously very experienced and talented but never makes you feel less capable and helps you to believe in yourself.
I joined the Taking Better Pictures course in January, I now have the confidence to use my camera away from the 'auto' settings. Classes are informal and fun but with a purpose, as we are all working towards producing a project photobook and an end of term exhibition. Have now booked to take part in the summer term.
I have attended Paul's evening class for beginners since January and I am definitely more confident with my camera. Paul is very approachable and obviously loves his subject, passing on all his knowledge and tips on how to improve. He doesn't blind you with technology but encourages you to make your own improvements in your own time and ability. He sets homework and reviews what you have done each week. We are now working on a Project which we will all complete for the end of term, culminating in an exhibition. I feel very much more at home with my camera and am learning every day how to take better pictures.
I am almost finished my second course with Paul Burgess - Creative Photography. Over these two courses I have seen a great improvement in my photography and my understanding of my camera and how to achieve the photos I want. Once this course is finished I am looking forward to starting the next Creative Photography course. I have found the group sessions and feedback invaluable.
I attended two difference courses, both were excellent. Paul provided some very helpful tips and is clearly passionate about the subject. Strongly recommend.

Burrswood Estate offered plenty of opportunities to photograph landscapes and capture the wonderful colours of Autumn. The day was divided into two photographic sessions followed by a really useful look at getting the very best from Lightroom.
Paul pitched the day at just the right level and nothing was too much trouble when it came to explaining camera settings or the intricacies of Lightroom.
A truly excellent day.
