I am thrilled with my first purchase…
I am thrilled with my first purchase from Oscar Wylee. I've been wearing multifocals for 3 years and this is the first time I've been able to wear them for computer work (I usually have a second pair just for work). I am very happy with the quality of lenses, the field of vision seems very wide. Huge selection of fashionable frames, reasonably priced, and ready to pick up one week after ordering. I will definitely be returning.

Terrible Experience – Unprofessional and Risky
I strongly advise anyone considering Oscar Wylee to think twice. My experience with them has been nothing short of disappointing, dangerous, and unprofessional.
The prescription I received from Oscar Wylee was completely incorrect. It caused me severe headaches, migraines, fatigue, and even placed me in danger while driving due to blurred vision and severe discomfort. This wasn't just an inconvenience—it was a serious health risk.
To make matters worse, I only received my prescription after multiple follow-ups, months after the test was conducted. When I raised concerns about the prescription and its consequences, my emails were ignored, and when I called, I was treated rudely. The lack of accountability, empathy, or basic customer care was shocking.
After getting a second opinion from another optometrist, it became clear that the prescription from Oscar Wylee did not reflect my actual vision needs. Despite this, Oscar Wylee has refused to take responsibility for the mistake, instead hiding behind disclaimers and deflecting blame onto me for having glasses made elsewhere.
Their offers to "fix" the issue are nothing more than an attempt to appear responsive without addressing the core problem. I’ve already tested the glasses against their incorrect prescription—they match perfectly, but the prescription itself is wrong.
This experience has been costly, stressful, and dangerous, and their approach to customer complaints has been dismissive and unprofessional. I am currently working with regulatory agencies to address this issue and to raise awareness about the risks associated with unprofessional optometry services.
My advice to anyone who has had an eye test at Oscar Wylee: Please get a second opinion from another optometrist. Protect your health, safety, and finances.
Oscar Wylee needs to take accountability for their mistakes and understand the serious consequences their errors can have on customers. Until they do, I cannot recommend their services to anyone.

So I have purchased many bifocal pairs of glasses from Oscar Wylee over time I have noticed five of my pairs have crazed to the point they are unusable I went back to the store to enquire and was told oh did you leave them in your car in the heat yes but in the purpose built compartment insulated oh no they said it’s too hot in a car well it is Queensland can they help oh no it’s my problem well you have lost me and my wife’s business last time I purchased 5 pairs see you but not through these crappy lenses oh my pairs from two of your competitors have no such problem

Review is for the staff not for the Company
The staffs in eastland change my son's Eyewear frame immediately. Unlike in forest hill where i was asked to come back after a few days.. it's still under warranty. Review is about the service we experienced not the company. Their pruduare not overpriced. Compared to spec savers where at the end, my wife just need a $150 eye wear as advertised and at the end they're asking $450.
Buyer beware
Buyer beware, these people will do anything for a sale including selling prescriptions which aren’t safe.
I went there and wanted sunglasses for driving and they sold me ones which could focus on distance and I would also be able to see the speedo (not bi-focus lenses - progressive lenses or something like that). This is what was suggested to me by staff. That sounded good so I paid and collected them two weeks later. When I tried to drive with them the Speedo area was blurry and you can’t use your side mirrors unless you turn your whole head sidewards and not use peripheral vision. This is dangerous, these glasses should not be sold for driving. I was then on holiday and sick for a period of 3 weeks so I am only just over my 30 days for changes (I know, that’s my fault) and they won’t do anything about it. I must literally be about 2 or so days over the 30 days.
I am leaving this review to warn others as you should not purchase these type of lenses for driving even if they do suggest it, as they wrongly did with me. It is still their error, even forgiving the 30 days and they sold a dangerous product.
This is just a chain who don’t care and only focus on sales. Walk on past any of these stores and go to someone reputable - even Specsavers do better.

I took a punt and switched from Bailey Nelson (whose products and services I’ve never had a problem with) to Oscar Wylee and really regret it, wishing I’d read the reviews first! The frames look good, but the quality is terrible. I was always having to get mine tightened and they once had to replace them because the arm just fell off while I was wearing them. I was happy with the acknowledgment that the pair I had was faulty but then the same thing happened … three times in two weeks, the arm just fell off! I returned to the store, only to be accused of mishandling them and told it would cost $80 to repair. Funny that I’ve never had a problem with any of my previous frames. Just shabby quality and rude service … never again.
Second pair of Multi
When into get a second pair of Multi focal glasses. I had just picked up two pairs in January. I tell her my name she couldn't find me in the system. Can I have your address and phone number, I can't find you. I said I just picked up two pairs in January. Can I have your email address? I said don't worry about it I'll go to Spec Savers. So disorganised no professionalism. Nice glasses but customer service is a massive zero. How can you not find me I was here 4 weeks ago seriously.
Sensational Service
From entering the store to look for frames and book an appointment with the optician the customer service I received was fantastic. Staff couldn't be more helpful as well as being knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn't believe how well priced the frames and lens are. Glasses were ready within 10 days. I was extremely impressed with everything and love my new multifocal glasses.

For my experience visiting store in Sydney , I ‘am in hurry to get my glasses because my glasses broken . They looks like have , treat customers differently if customer looks like poor very bad thing they don’t care .After bought and order they look like “get out from here “if other customer they speech nicely and also they talking about promo . I ask can repair frame because I don’t have spare glasses , he not try to how can repair my glasses just put on table and say “I can’t repair and I must be be put tape or something else by self , I bought glasses not cheapest one . Looks like quick, get out of here .

Oscar Wylee review 26/1/24
I’ve been a big fan of Oscar Wylee since I bought my first 2 pairs of prescription glasses with them. I get lots of compliments and have previously referred people to them. In November 2020 I bought an everyday pair along with a pair of sunglasses from their Airport West store. The sunglasses have been perfect, but my regular glasses, so sadly, have been another issue.
Just a few months after the 12 month warranty expired the anti-glare coating started wearing off my regular glasses. Once it started, the deterioration was pretty rapid so that they quickly became hard to see through because the lower centre lens lost the coating and the rest of the glasses retained it (though also continued to gradually degrade). It gave me a headache sometimes to look through them depending on where my focus was. I went into their Bendigo store and they said the reason for the coating coming away was because I hadn’t used their glasses cleaner exclusively (I had also used Cleanwipe lens wipes).
So on 14/5/22 I bought a new pair of everyday glasses from their Bendigo store, thinking they must be right. And guess what, just a few months past the 12 months warranty expired it happened again, and this time I had religiously only used their lens cleaning product. And I am not careless with my glasses at all, because due to my prescription my everyday glasses are far more expensive than their basic lens.
On 5/12/23 I called the Bendigo store and explained what had happened (for the second time) and the guy I spoke to (the staff at Bendigo are without fail very nice people) well he spoke to management to see if they would fix them, but because the glasses were out of warranty they refused to replace or repair them.
During this time my sunglasses have remained faultless. But there is obviously a fault with the anti-glare coating in my regular glasses. Consumer law says that regardless of warranty Oscar Wylee (or any supplier) should replace any faulty products if it is a reasonable expectation that the product should still work properly. I spent around $1000 on 2 pairs of glasses that turned out to be faulty, and at roughly $500 each time it is more than reasonable to expect the anti-glare coating to last longer than 12 months.
So be warned. Not only can there be a problem with the anti-glare coating, but also Oscar Wylee do not abide by the law when it comes to addressing faulty products. This is what I am telling people from now on.

Good customer service. I was happy a Filipina named Erica assisted me on selecting whats best fit for my eyeglasses. I bought my eyeglasses at Westfield Manukau New Zealand branch. It only took 1 week and my eyeglasses were ready to collect.

My bifocal frame fell apart during a cricket match , which I was umpiring. The frame snapped for no reason! The local Oscar Wylee retail outlet would not replace the frame, only offer a discount on a new frame . Must have been a poor quality frame . I ended up having to superglue the frame successfully. Maybe retail stores should provide a complimentary tube of super glue with each frame? Trust damaged beyond repair :-(
Incompetent, Rude, and Dishonest
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding a recent customer experience at your Rouse Hill branch in Australia, which has been the most unpleasant encounter I have had with any business in the country. During a visit to the Rouse Hill store to collect my glasses, I encountered a series of issues that have left me frustrated and dissatisfied. The initial communication indicated that my glasses were ready for collection, but upon arrival, I was informed by your retail staff, Mandana, that my order had not been processed due to a payment error. Despite my request for expedited assistance, Mandana attributed the error solely to me and displayed a dismissive attitude.
After intervention from another staff member, it was agreed that my glasses would be shipped overseas at no extra cost. However, weeks later, I received notification of an additional $30 shipping fee, which had not been communicated to me initially. This discrepancy led me to engage with the store manager to seek clarification.
During our discussion, I was shocked to be accused of making a racist comment about Mandana's English proficiency. I categorically deny this allegation, as it is entirely false and baseless. The manager asserted that there was never an agreement to ship the glasses for free and supported Mandana's claim without proper investigation.
This situation has left me not only falsely accused but also deeply concerned about the integrity of your business and the professionalism of your staff. I implore Oscar Wylee to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into this matter. False accusations can have serious consequences and should not be taken lightly. I believe in fair and honest business practices, and I trust that Oscar Wylee shares these values.
Very unpleasant experience.
There was a problem with my prescription glasses and the lense didn't fit into the frame. All in all, it took about 5 weeks to get my glasses. During that time, no one contacted me at all. I had to ring them, and just got generic, scripted answers. The wait is one thing, but no communication is unacceptable! Another thing, my usual optometrist (OPSM) offers a great service when you buy frames. They look at them on you, and give you an honest and useful opinion. The people at Oscar Wylee just smile and give no help. I bought a pair of sunglass frames that don't suit my face shape. I asked the sales person what they thought, and she said they were beautiful. They weren't. Buyer's remorse. My fault? Perhaps, but a truthful opinion would have been nice. They are clearly just interested in making a sale. I'll never go back to them. Useless bunch.
You get what you pay for
Very poor service and low quality glasses with a rush optometry experience. Didn't feel thorough at all. Would not recommend. I will be going elsewhere next time for my visit. At least I can vouch for the quality. Just because something looks nice, doesn't mean it is good. Do not be deceived.

The whole experience was a pleasure. Very friendly optometrist & Amanda the store manager was so helpful & friendly. She couldn’t do enough to assist me with selecting my glasses. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Poor quality
Poor quality. Bought a pair of sunglasses a couple months ago with the year warranty being a big selling point. Disappointed to find out they wouldn’t cover it then suggesting I go elsewhere to have them fixed. Never again.
