Went to buy Vaseline body creams
Went to buy Vaseline body creams, clearly marked at £1.50 for the three different varieties/ went to the till & paid which should have been £10.50 for 7 bottles. They charged me £17.50! I queried this & they said ‘sorry prices went up today’! I challenged them as they should honour the price which is shown / the manager of the store came over & said ‘sorry but we are short staffed, in hindsight we should have taken the stock off the shelves.,. Sorry can’t do anything about it (shrugged her shoulders in an uncaring way)’ Very unprofessional lady & as I tried to explain she should still honour my purchase she said no, can’t. Then offered to refund me! So guys never trust the prices they show in this shop … their motto is great value store, but as u trust and tap, walk out - u may not have realised u have been overcharged. I am posting this in anger as it happened to me before so that’s why I checked my bill.

Poor service and policies
The sweets were incorrectly priced or left in the wrong place. I only realised a couple of minutes after leaving the store that I had paid £5 each for 2 tubs of sweets rather than £1.25 each. I explained the story to one of the cashiers, another lady butted in rudely saying they cannot accept it even though i was on CCTV the whole time. Then she compared one below to Tesco (who infact accept returned sweets within 30days). The lady racially profiled me, spoke to me rudely and walked away saying call head office if you want,. Maidenhead to the rescue
I recently messaged customer services to see if they had any more dinosaurs kids cups in stock anywhere as my ASD son will only drink out of that specific cup and I couldn’t find any in stores. I received a quick response from Nicola who had forwarded my request to the Maidenhead store. I got an email from Zoe and she told me they had 6 cups delivered to store for me!

Rotherham store..
Rotherham store... item wrongly priced on shelf but a higher price came up on till. When I told the cashier she told me the till price and said quite strongly " Do you want it or not" in a very nasty tone. Will not be using this this store again.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. After purchase on till i asked not to change instead of note and i will pay rest, the lady refused straightway and said we cant do it. I said any reason no need to tell you. i asked okay i will not buy these stuff and take it back and give my money. She called the manager and said this stupid customer miss behaving. I try to explain but manager said Get Out and do not come back. S..t Customer service and they do not want the customers although they were free just talking. I think they do not want customers at all to disturb them. Rubbish Managerial behaviour.

I have contacted one-below twice (both occasions being ignored) as to why they had not reduced there Christmas Stock to 75% off. Wilkos and Poundland didn't seem to have an issue doing this.
Beware
When I tried to purchase items clearly marked at a £1 each they tried to charge me £1.25. When I pointed out the display showing the price I was accused of changing the price ticket! Basically called me a liar and a thief. Beware
Inappropriate refund policy
I went to return something but the manager told me that she can't refund me because they have only 7 days return policy and even they did not mention it on their receipt. I was so disappointed. They should increase this period and also write it on the receipt.
Fire hazard
I guess most stuff is good value for money but I question if you are actually getting what is says on the tin, bottle, packet. One of the items we bought was a phone charger lead with inbuilt Christmas lights (a bit different for use over Christmas) from their store. However I will be returning it to the store as they are a fire hazard. On testing it out the LEDs get super hot as they are wired incorrectly straight across the 5V supply. They will probably fail within the hour if they dont burn whatever is in contact with them. One-Below obviously never quality control what they sell and trading standards never check items either.
Rude member of staff
Although I was pleasantly suprised with the content of the shop I will not use it again due to the rude aggressive manor of the member of staff on the check out.
Poor quality items bad customer service…
Poor quality items bad customer service ripping people. They do not print terms & conditions on receipt but stick them on their side of the till. I was shocked when they refused to take items back for refund or swap. The lady said it over 7 days, I argued that it was not mentioned on the receipt then she showed me a small print sicker on her till side. She confronted me talking funny, and I left the store in agony and left my receipt and purchase of £5 to get rich. I will never buy again from that cheap dodgy shop with poor customer service.
Absolutely horrendous and misleading customer service
I visited Huddersfield's OneBelow branch and I bought £5 worth of items and paid using a £20 note and when I asked for change, the shopkeeper Kyle didn't give any change, claiming I had given only a £5 note and that no change was due. As soon as he said this, I asked my mum and she confirmed that she had given me a £20 note. They continued denying the fact that I gave a £20 note so I asked them to check the CCTV footage and after a while Kyle said that they zoomed in and said it was unclear what note I handed in. Then he went to the till and said he was counting up the money, then coming back to tell me that if I had given £20, the till's count should be up by £15. He returned saying that the till was actually down by £3 and there was no chance that I had given £20. I asked to speak to the manager and he said sure. The manager came to speak to me and was claiming that I had clearly given £5 in the CCTV footage, but Kyle said it was very unclear. So I was confused, unsure about who is lying about the CCTV. I asked to speak to my mum on the phone but she was backing off saying that she was only willing to speak to the customer. I said I am going to return the items I had purchased and receive my £20 note back, but she instead very rudely asked me to leave the shop even though I was speaking to her in a calm manner. She then proceeded to call security, so I thought it would be wise to leave the shop and go back to college.
One Below Livingston Store - Very Kind Staff & Lovely Store To Shop In
My mum lost a carrier bag with all of her stuff she purchased inside & she was absolutely devastated. We couldn't remember what shop we left it in so I retraced our steps & went into One Below after being in a few shops before that & they had our carrier bag. They kept it by for us & my mum was over the moon as she thought it was gone for good. We couldn't thank them enough. Most kind, caring & loveliest staff to work in One Below. The man who works in there was so helpful & the woman who also works in there was so lovely. We bought them a box of chocolates to say thank you. We are more than grateful and it is much appreciated. Lovely store to shop in too. Thank you again to the staff in One Below for being so helpful and keeping our carrier bag behind for us. Kind regards, Catherine x
Terrible Service and Generally a Crappy Store!
I purchased 2 items from the art and craft section of the store on 3rd December and when I went to return it on 13th December for not being required and one item being of poor quality. I was told that the refund policy was within 7 days. Most stores write this on the receipt odd that One Below do not stipulate this on the receipt. If they were an above average store they would specify this on the receipt and be above board. Oh and the Head Office would not have an answer machine but would have actual customer service representatives answering the telephone but they don't. It smells like dodgy to me! Customer Service is rubbish, no return telephone call so far!
Apalling service and terrible layout of the store.
Avoid and shop at Poundland instead!

Horrible experience at Manchester Fort store went back to exchange the faulty item next day of purchase staff a skinny girl so rude and Horrible at the till I just left the item at the till they need some to learn some politeness .God bless

I wanted to send this email to compliment a member of staff. I can see by the till receipt that her name is Vivien H. Vivien was a breath of fresh air, she could be heard all around the store, she was so pleasant and you could tell she interacted with every single customer, in a friendly and polite manner. I am a wheelchair user and I made sure I went to her till because I knew she would go out of her way to help me and she most certainly did. She was a delight and obviously loves working at One Below, she is a real credit to you!

I went to help with the Southport store during their opening weekend and totally agree with you about Vivien. I think she is absolutely amazing and an absolute credit to One Below. ONE BELOW Discount Shop - is "one-above" similar shops . . .
The ONE BELOW shop in Rotherham's Park Gate is ALWAYS clean, tidy, well stocked and provides a good choice of items.
Staff are polite, well presented and always happy to help.
As far as my wife and I are concerned, compared to similar shops . . . it's a "one-above" the rest of them.
