Over promised and under delivered
I contracted with Newglaze for doors and a conservatory. Initial contact was very positive with great attention to detail over the design of the conservatory and a number of promises around how it would look. The doors were installed prior to work commencing on the conservatory. Installation of one of the doors resulted in damage to an internal wall, requiring replastering!
The Conservatory foundations and brickwork is subcontracted and I was notified on the Friday, by the subcontractor, with work scheduled to start on the Monday that there would be a delay of one to 2 weeks. Far from satisfactory. I contacted Newglaze as my contract was with them to ask why they had not contacted me but they were unable to confirm a commencement date. The subcontractor, when work finally started was competent but exceptionally slow. The area was kept uncovered during a period of snow followed by heavy rain and I had to brush out water on several occasions to try to protect the newly installed concrete slab. When the Newglaze team arrived to complete the installation the doors to the garden were the incorrect size and had to be reordered and several of the glazed units did not fit. The doors when finally fitted had to be adjusted several times within the first few months and there was a lengthy list of snagging issues. The completed finish was not as promised and exceptionally disappointing. Newglaze were among the highest of the quotes for the work but were recommended. Having recently moved into the area I opted for them as a well known local company about whom I had received positive endorsements. Overpriced, over promised and under delivered. I would not use again.
