Dealing with a real person and not an anonymous screen

Went into Northumberland Street Newcastle branch and arranged to see an advisor named Jack to discuss options around ISA . As someone with very little knowledge in this field I was abit nervous regards what I would be told . Well I should not of been . Jack was an absolute credit to the branch he explained everything to me told me what all my options were and made sure I knew exactly what he was explaining every step of the way . Thanks Jack you were excellent and wish you were one of my employees .Great work apart from the tea could have been abit stronger lol .

Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and keen to help their customers without rushing them. The personal attention and service received in the local branches is always appreciated and makes me feel valued as a customer.

Great professional advice very professional and friendly service wouldn't look elsewhere

Newcastle forced us into a position to pay £13000 early termination fee. My husband had a default on his credit report from years ago when he was at sea on a submarine he went to the company who removed the default as it wasn’t his fault but there’s we provided all this information to Newcastle who only offered us a 80% mortgage even though we have a 90% with them now. Said they wouldn’t consider for another 90 days just forcing us to pay £13000 it’s a scam and would not recommend at all. SCAM

Friendly and efficient staff in Carlisle Branch.

Good range of savings products with great interest rates clearly described - most with the option of applying online or in branch. App simple and straightforward to use.

Have been waiting for over 3 weeks to receive the interest for a tax year for a closed account. Tried 3 times, with little confidence that one will supply the information.

greeted upon arrival and offered refreshments as we settled in a private comforted room. when I explained what I wanted to take place the response was calm and each question answered to my understanding. All paperwork was explained before any transaction took place. No pressure was imposed on me at any time

I would like to say thank you very much to Alex Baker for helping us this morning, he was very friendly and very patient. I would just like to let him know that we managed to do the transfer of funds to another account. He helped me to set this up. 5 stars to him. From 2 young pensioners.

my phone calls were promptly answered and each call handler was friendly, helpful, polite and patient. i was talked through the opening of an online account and difficulties were kindly explained which resulted in the successful opening of an account. reassuring to have someone at the end of the line who has patience with a senior not au fait with online hurdles. 'old fashion' service at its best. One negative I should mention is the unhelpful paper application form. The only option for making an initial deposit to open an account was a transfer from an existing Newcastle account! or a cheque. Last time I used a cheque was 2018! and the questions were ambiguous so it was difficult to know how to answer them. e.g. how much do you wish to deposit (which you state) then further down page only option was a cheque or in house transfer as they do not accept a transfer from another building society where funds would come from. Those funds had to be sent to my bank, then onward to Newcastle so only option was a nominal sum in the form of a cheque to open an account, then the full investment amount could be paid in directly from my bank!

Another excellent experience. The team are always polite, friendly and helpful. it is a pleasure to visit the Darlington branch. I wish other companies would emulate their customers relations

The staff in Whitley Bay branch are always friendly, helpful and very efficient. No queue, so I was attended to immediately, they always make me feel welcome which is such a change these days. Also it was nice to get a reply to my review a few days later.
