I am absolutely fuming at their incompetence. I opened an ISA with them in 2022, as confirmed by emails from them at the time. I have not gone to transfer my ISA to another provider and they have told me it is not an ISA. I've lost all the tax advantages from the last few years, and will be behind on the money in my ISA now for the rest of my life.

Payments into Savings Accounts
Before opening a savings account with Newcastle Building Society, I would strongly recommend you ask whether there are any restrictions on how you pay into the account ie by cash, cheque or debit card. I am currently in dispute with the Society over cash payments I have made into their Six Monthly Account. They need to be more upfront with customers at the point of opening accounts to avoid potential injury to feelings. I am currently raising this with the Financial Services Ombudsman
A word to the wise: As expected, no-one from Newcastle Building Society (alias Beth) ever got back to me. Beware of false promises!

I love being able to go into a branch and discuss my needs with such friendly, welcoming, professional people. Their range of financial products is very good. Perfect 10.

Excellent staff in Barnard castle branch, nothing is a problem, they are all very helpful

This company has always been helpful, whatever the problem may have been. Changing my password was carried out quickly and simply.

Their online service is good, and when we need to withdraw the money for any reason it is transferred quickly and reliably. We will definitely keep the account open.

The local branch was very convenient. It was very helpful to be able to actually speak to a real person. The staff were all very accommodating, friendly and helpful. There is a wide range of products available and the staff are able to take the time to discuss personal requirements.

My late father was introduced to the Will Writing Company by this dreadful organisation. A working class man sold down the river to spivs offering unregulated services. It took two years and £4000 for me to sort out the mess that they got him into - no help, no support and certainly nothing to see here - not our fault. Shame on them. My father foolishly trusted them - I have utter contempt for this company.

Local, helpful, friendly and efficient staff served me in this small branch. When banks have closed in the villages, it is wonderful that a member-owned (mutual) building society is so strongly community-minded... demonstrating the ethos, and providing the highest standard of service to customers. Resent remortgage with Newcastle Building Society, I dealt with Richard who was fantastic! I was traveling for 3 weeks with work and Richard adjusted his hours of work and we held the meeting on Teams. He really couldn’t have been more helpful.

Received an email on Monday inviting me to open a loyalty saver account. I click on the link to open the account, and receive the message..."We cannot direct you to the requested web page at this time. Please try again". Email Customer services and told to wait 24 hours for the IT Department to activate. NOTHING, same error. What a complete waste of my time. So in September, I'll be moving on to another Building Society who can be bothered and transfer my savings to them instead.

One star is being generous. Just want rid of this BS but their administrative procedures are terrible.
