I have just collected my new pre Reg Nissan Qashqai from New Car Discount this week as I was very wary paying 2 days prior to delivery so decided to drive 150miles and collect and pay on the day (didn't needed to worry as the car was there as well as the company!) We had our new Nissan Qashqai delivered today, really pleased with the car , delivery guy contacted up this morning giving an approximate time and arrived as he said he would. I have to say we were a bit apprehensive about paying for the car upfront before seeing it but all has gone very well with a 5 day delivery from order. John Robertson has been excellent, we I expressed our concerns about payment he told me to pay deposit via credit card, then you are covered under section 75 of the consumer credit act up to the total cost of your car up to £30000, I checked this out via money saving expert.com and it’s true. We now have a new car and are better off to the tune of £8000 compared to main dealer price

Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo purchased December 2019. This is now my second new vehicle from New Car Discount in 3 years, selecting the car model and extras using the website online couldn't have been easier, the price you see is the price you pay, and believe me these guys even beat all the quotes from carwow. The next day I had a couple of questions regarding the colour and extras, so I phoned the head office and spoke to Nick, who rang me back the following day with the answers, I paid the deposit using my credit card and the order was placed. They quoted 12 weeks for a new build vehicle (my first one, a Ford arrived in 8 weeks) This time it was 9.5 weeks before I got the mail that my car had arrived in the country, and would be delivered the following week on the day of my choice, 3 days before delivery Nick sent a mail with the registration and chassis details of the car so that I could sort out the insurance and pay the final balance by bank transfer to their account. Monday morning bang on 9am as arranged, my new car was on the drive, well done New Car Discount, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I was wary about buying a new car on line, but having checked out New Car Discount and their parent company, AUF, I decided to proceed; I am glad I did.
I obtained a £4.5K discount on the £33K list price for a new Honda CRV and got a fair price for my old car. From first contact to receiving my new car I have enjoyed a superlative customer experience with updates, suggestions and most of all understanding as my experience started with me in Sydney Australia and had periods of contact from Hong Kong and finally receiving my car in UK.

So, let us begin:

When buying from the internet, make sure you do all your due diligence.

My checklist was as follows:

• Check Companies house
• Make sure all records match the same address
• Check reviews
• Check Website
• Check DNS registration dates

Define your terms of business you are happy with:

My conditions were I was glad to put down an initial deposit on my credit card, which has fraud protection.
When the car arrives, I was happy to drive down with the car I was part exchanging to the head office in Warrington.
Once I had seen the car I ordered, I was then happy to provide a bankers draft for the remaining invoice.

Final Checklist:

When arranging delivery, they will send you the invoice. The invoice will include the registration number and VIN details. Check the VIN details online which will show production date and full details of all the options you have chosen.

Experience:

From start to end I found the customer service excellent.

• You select the car on the website.
• Add options.
• See discounts and compare with other companies.
• Check standard prices for the car which you are part exchanging. Get a quote from NCD.
• Once you are happy with the cost and the price they are willing to give you for the part exchange, then order the car.

Wait 12 – 14 Weeks.

You will be contacted by the company regarding delivery and will be presented with an invoice.

Pay Invoice in full, drop part exchange car off and drive off in your new vehicle.

Conclusion:

I would recommend NCD. Before approaching NCD, I was looking for a new car with local main dealerships.

Dealing with local dealers was painful. Before approaching NCD, I was in the process of buying a car with my local dealership. After agreeing to a price, sidestepping the extra sales and putting a deposit down, I had finished tired and exhausted. After a few days, I was informed they couldn’t provide the vehicle due to the manufacturer halting production, and they returned the deposit. The thought of going through that process wasn’t too appealing, hence looking for a different way to purchase the vehicle.

My personal experience with the local dealer:

Trying to arrange a price that I was happy with was the most stressful, and being introduced to the salesperson who went away to see if they could do the deal with the manager compounded the issue. The sales manager informed me that they would reduce the price if I would decide on the spot. I didn’t like the approach. I also stated I didn’t want any extras, yet they had me watching videos while I wait for the sales manager to come back. Thank the stars they couldn’t honour the agreement; otherwise, I would have never found NCD.

So with the above, I decided on using “New Car Discounts”. I will never look back if I need to purchase another car if they sell the make and model. I would not hesitate in using them again.

NCD are great dealers. They are professional and quick to respond to any queries. It removes the need of talking to any salespeople direct to get the discounts you want without the stress.

Do not be worried!

I discovered NCD from a Google search and it seemed excellent. I was looking at a second hand VW Crafter from a main dealer but couldn’t quite justify the huge price tag, and I like a good deal.

I completed the Options selection on the NCD vehicle selector page and it looked like I would be saving over £13,000, bringing the new price LOWER than the second hand price. The big ‘win’ for me was the ability to spec things that would cost me loads in retro-fitting them into the second hand van.

I sent the request via the website and got an email back, very quickly, from John Robertson.

John was my main contact throughout the process, only swapping over to Naz once the van had arrived in the UK and payment was due.

As everyone will be aware, these purchases are very expensive and parting with such a huge amount of cash to an unknown, online company is a very risky (and often stupid) thing to do. Many consumer advisors will never recommend buying this way.

When the order was placed, I was asked (as is standard) to pay a £500 deposit. The sceptic in me decided that paying by credit card was the safest option and called John to make the payment over the telephone.

Now for the L O N G 14 week wait.

Now, these 14 weeks saw me looking at reviews on Trust Pilot, googling the Company, looking at Companies House, checking the credibility of the company and then… doing it all again!

I became more anxious as the delivery day loomed, particularly when I got the email asking for the balance of £25,000 - EEK!. Back to Google, CH and all the review pages that I could find. I even Googled NCD Scam (sorry guys hehe).

I paid the cash and spent a few sleepless nights…

Delivery day. I waited. And waited. And waited… I was going to get a call an hour before delivery and when 3pm came with no call, I was certain that I’d been ‘DONE’. I emailed Naz who contacted the delivery company to see where the van was. I was told they had had a very busy day and it wouldn’t be delivered until the next day. Oh yes! I’ve kissed goodbye to my life savings!

There was little I could do but to wait.

First thing this morning, I got 2 emails from John; the first asking how the delivery went and the second, before I had chance to reply to the first, saying that he’d just heard that it hadn’t arrived as agreed. He was very apologetic and contacted the delivery company immediately. He came back to me right away to say it will be with me very soon.

I was talking myself into and out of the Scam scenario; it is too elaborate to be a Scam surely. It has to be a Scam. The website is far too complex to be fake. Fakers go to great lengths to screw you out of your money. I’ve called the guys, their numbers are real. It is easy to get a fake phone number. All the Trust Pilot reviews are excellent. All the reviews are about Nissans - that is dodgy! O M G, what have I done?

The doorbell rang…
