Very easy to deal with I didn’t even have to talk to any one on the phone it was all done through text and on there website it was quick and easy to arrange a payment plan I had to wait a couple of days for them to reply by email to see if they accepted the plan but it was very affordable so It wont impact my monthly income iv felt overwhelmed with other debt collection company’s but these I didn’t panic once I see how straight forward it was to set up a plan and how reasonable they are.

I didn’t have much direct experience with this company, so I can’t comment in detail. The process was straightforward, but I would need more interaction to give a full review.

Moorcroft sent us a letter claiming we owed an HMRC PAYE balance.
The first thing I did was log into HMRC PAYE directly. There is no debt. Zero matches zero.
I tried to resolve it through their web chat. The agent (name removed by Trustpilot's request) wouldn’t explain anything unless I first provided more information about the company. That’s where I stopped.
There are three BASIC things you should expect in a situation like this:
1. If someone claims you have a debt, they should not need to collect more information from you just to explain it. The reference number provided should already identify the case.
2. They should be able to show clear proof that the debt actually exists.
3. They should be able to clearly explain why they are the party authorized to collect or resolve it.
Moorcroft couldn’t do any of the above.
Instead, the conversation immediately turned into “give us more details and then we’ll talk.” That’s not how this is supposed to work.
I’m not calling them either. No reason to hand over a phone number when the underlying claim doesn’t check out.
Looking at other reviews, the pattern seems consistent. People question the debt, and the response is some version of “contact us so we can help.” That’s not an answer. It comes across as an attempt to gather more information rather than provide verification.
Based on this experience, the process felt less like a straightforward debt resolution and more like an attempt to gather additional information before providing any verification.
At a minimum, I would advise others to proceed carefully, independently verify any claims with HMRC, and think twice before sharing additional details until the debt is clearly substantiated.
Follow-up - 23 March 2026:
Following this review, I was contacted through Trustpilot and asked to provide additional personal and company information (including full name, phone number, and reference details) so they could “recognize” the case.
This is the same issue described above.
At no point has Moorcroft provided any proof that the alleged debt exists, nor explained the basis of the claim. Instead, the process again starts with a request for more information from me.
I am not comfortable providing additional data to obtain basic validation of a claim that should already be fully documented on their side.
If a debt is legitimate, it should be possible to:
1. Identify it using the reference already provided
2. Show evidence of the liability
3. Explain their authority to act
None of that has happened.
This follow-up request reinforces my original concern: the burden is being placed on the recipient to provide more information before any verification is offered.

I am willing to review and respond to any evidence they provide that clearly identifies the alleged debt and its origin. They should already have sufficient information to locate this case from their own records. They may respond in writing to the company address on file, without requiring any additional personal or company data beyond what has already been supplied.
Follow-up to Moorcroft's response on 23 March 2026:
Thank you for the reply.
Identity verification may be appropriate at some stage, but it does not address the issues raised.
The concerns remain the same:
1. A reference number was already provided. That should be sufficient to identify the case without requesting additional information just to explain the claim.
2. No proof has been provided that the alleged debt actually exists.
3. No explanation has been given as to why Moorcroft is the party authorized to collect or resolve it.
Your response again asks for more information from me, but does not address any of these three points.
Providing a general HMRC link does not resolve this. Logging into HMRC directly showed no such liability.
As stated previously, I am willing to review any evidence that clearly identifies the alleged debt, its origin, and your authority to act. You should already have sufficient information in your records to locate the case. You may respond in writing to the company address on file.
Until then, the issue remains unresolved.

Moorcroft sent a letter to my home address claiming I owed money. When calling them they stated that Paypal had instructed them to collect a debt.
I contacted Paypal immediately who informed me that there was no money owed.
When I called Moorcroft back they stated that I was incorrect and the money was owed but they couldn't provide me with any details of the debt and it's origins!
100% scam artists.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY.

A company that got involved in a case against me that was totally fabricated and untrue. If moorcroft are looking for positive reviews then speak to the victims of the multinationals first before threatening and getting heavy handed. AVOID where possible.

Worked there for under 3 months, worst experience ever. This is the first job I have been dismissed for “productivity, lateness, too many days off and they added later manners on the call”. This was never mentioned to me prior to the dismissal despite asking questions on what I could improve on. Not sure why they said if I wanted to appeal the decision had to write it on a letter and send it to them. I had also a health condition with a doctors note which I handed in 2 weeks before my dismissal, team leader never mentioned any wrong doing nor anything I could improve on other than giving an example on her tone on the phone call. No first warning nor final warning. Makes sense why they are always hiring. Concerning for a company that’s ment to be FCA regulated. I was also dismissed the week after having the best productivity time in the office. Office manager never said a word to me of any wrong doing until the dismissal. I had the best productivity times in the office the week before the dismissal too and team leader was even congratulating me. And the company keep flagging my reviews as defamatory so I have to keep re-editing it and can not post everything nor tell the full story. Would avoid this company. Everything mentioned has been my real personal experience and is therefore not defamatory if it’s the truth. Also been keeping records of everything just in case.
Moorcroft have dealt with my account with the utmost respect. I'm regularly reassured and made to feel in control. Thank you to all involved.
