I am a HGV Driver, and I trunk throughout the night, and 1 stressful week earlier this year due to personal reasons I obtained several speeding fines over several nights. I contacted M.A.J Law and from the moment I spoke to them I felt reasured and confident they were the right company to help me. Through endless phone calls and emails through my wife, Rebecca Ikpeme and Lucy Mullen were so supportive and worked hard to get my points reduced to 9. The court hearing was the 27th August and James Findon was my Barrister and advocate as I was unable to attend due to work. We dont know how he managed but he got the points reduced down to 3. I hired MAJ Law to defend me against baseless drug driving charges brought by South Wales Police — a case that was ultimately dropped due to lack of evidence. While the legal outcome was favourable, my experience with MAJ Law was far from satisfactory.

They initially quoted a fixed fee of £5,000 + VAT, with the understanding that half would be paid upfront and the remainder in instalments after the case concluded. However, after appointing a barrister for the plea hearing, I was informed that any further attendance would incur an additional £2,500 + VAT. Shortly after, MAJ Law advised that they would not continue representing me unless I immediately paid the remaining £3,000 from the fixed fee — plus an extra £3,000 for the barrister to attend the trial.

This demand came despite clear signs that the CPS was unlikely to pursue the case. I believe MAJ Law exploited my limited familiarity with the legal process to pressure me into paying fees that were neither recoverable nor necessary. The hearing was cancelled, the CPS dropped the charges, and yet the barrister’s fee was not refunded.

In total, MAJ Law retained £9,000 for a case that never went to trial and involved minimal actual representation. Weekly updates were promised but never delivered. Their correspondence with the CPS lacked transparency, and when it came to recovering costs, they advised that only £567 was claimable — the equivalent legal aid rate.

This experience left me feeling financially exploited. If you’re considering MAJ Law, I strongly urge you to scrutinise their fee structure and demand clarity at every stage. Legal representation should be built on trust and transparency — unfortunately, that was not my experience. After this experience, I would suggest anyone in the same position to hire a barrister directly.

My experience with MAJ Law has been extremely disappointing. From the outset, I felt misguided and misinformed by the advice I was given. Despite assurances of expertise, their handling of my case ultimately led to a far harsher outcome than I believe was necessary.

Over the course of my dealings with the firm, I spent nearly £12,000 in fees, yet I was left with a 16-month driving ban, £1,200 in fines, and community service hours. This result does not reflect the promises or guidance I was provided.

In addition to the poor advice, I found the office staff unprofessional and at times outright rude, which only added to the stress of the situation. The combination of significant financial cost, poor communication, and an unnecessarily severe sentence has left me feeling let down and misled. At the beginning of the case I spoke to Conor Johnstone and I was told that this would be a case they can more then manage to handle. Few months down the line I asked the office workers to give me a number or email I can speak to Conor Johnstone I was told I wasn’t allowed to be given a number or a email of his which left me so confused and baffled. The solicitor who was in charge of my case Osian Robert’s who is more unavailable then available is by far one of the biggest scams and another Solictor who they always transfer me too harry bellis is nothing but rude and gives very short and unhelpful answers seemed like he doesn’t even want to be there. Anyways I managed to appeal and went to the crown court by MYSELF without any representation and managed to explain to crown judge of my situation and fortunately I managed to narrow down my ban from 16 months to 12 months and also the fine was slightly reduced.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend MAJ Law. Beware guys. Your better of representing yourself then these lot.(and also few screen shot of the payments I managed to find on my accounts towards Maj law)

I was caught by an unmarked police car doing 103mph on the M56. As a self-employed electrician, a driving ban would have putme out of business. Harry took the time to go through my case and prepare a strong argument for exceptional hardship hardship. He guided me through the evidence I needed and represented me brilliantly in court. I walked away with 5 points instead of a ban. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

I was convicted solely on the basis of a police officer’s testimony of using a mobile phone while driving, despite there being no physical evidence — the phone was stationary on my lap, playing a podcast, and my car is Bluetooth-enabled. I already had six points on my licence and could not risk another six. I hired a solicitor for £3,000, reassured that I had a high chance of winning because there was “no evidence,” or that if I lost, we would succeed on an “exceptional hardship” application.

Unfortunately, in UK law, credible officer testimony alone can be enough for a conviction. I lost both the main case and the exceptional hardship argument in the Magistrates’ Court, leaving me with a £1,650 bill.

I then contacted MajLaw, asking directly if my case was worth pursuing or if I should simply accept the six-month ban. I had what I thought was a productive call with Coleen, who outlined “many ways” we could save my licence. I believed this and paid a further £4,800, expecting a fair chance of success.

Initially told there were “a few options” for appeal, I was eventually steered into appealing only the exceptional hardship decision — presented as my best chance — even though it was the same argument that had already failed.

The day before my Crown Court hearing, a barrister was assigned to my case. He received only half the paperwork, had no time to prepare, and still put me in the witness box for cross-examination before the judge. That was my entire defence. Unsurprisingly, the appeal failed — dismissed as having “no strong evidence” for exceptional hardship, regardless of the fact that losing my licence would cut my income in half and affect those who rely on me overseas.

My only “positive” outcome was that my barrister saved me £350 in post-conviction court fees. Otherwise, I was put in the same losing position as in the Magistrates’ Court, with no stronger case and no realistic chance — something I now realise my solicitors must have known long before taking my money.

In my honest opinion, MajLaw were more interested in my money than my outcome. There was no compassion, no accountability, and no regret — only a client left with nothing to show for the equivalent of three months’ salary spent. Think twice before trusting the highly vocal MajLaw solicitors you see on YouTube. You might be better off representing yourself — at least you’d save thousands of pounds.

I was charged with failing to provide . I contacted maj law . And was told I had a good defence. As I suffered from severe copd. I spoke to Conner firstly that told me and he advised me to go to court and plead not guilty. Which at this point I decided to get them as my legal representation. . He was great at my first hearing and represented me . And defending me to all he could like it was his license on the line. . I was advise to pay for a specialist to defend my case . Which I did. My first court date was April which was adjourned due to the specialist not being to attend. The second court date was moved again. An it was very stressful as lose my license would have been me losing my job and no income. Rebecca was amazing. She work hours commuting with the cps. And asked how they wanted to proceed. And keeping me informed all the way with what was happening. Today I got the great news the that the case was dismissed. So I keep my license. Thanks to there great work and can’t thank the enough.
