Very helpful and courteous service
Booking of the holiday was hassle free and a query we had was very quickly and satisfactorily dealt with. I hope that the holiday is an equally pleasurable experience . Would definitely recommend this Company on booking experience alone.

A very smooth system for booking which took very little time.
One problem:
I could not get a response from the extras section of the website and had to telephone to book linen and towels - however this was very simple and your representative was most helpful.

Holiday booked!
Straightforward, simple and factual. Have used before and will continue to do so. Easy to search by region and loation. Only had a small hitch with the payment module NOT accepting my name (initials) as shown on my card, even though that's what it asked for.

Superb service that turned a potential problem into a very positive experience
Due to a misunderstanding which I was partly responsible for, the expected, pre-booked transport from Madame Vacances in Flaine to Geneva airport did not arrive on the evening of departure. The on site staff member (Patrick), in spite of the fact it was well past his finishing time, stayed on and handled every aspect in a friendly, supportive manner, such that an alternative taxi firm was found, late into the evening, at very short notice to take us to our destination. On my return home, I then liaised with Duncan Roxburgh at head office who was exceptionally helpful in discussing what had actually happened and in agreeing to refund the additional taxi fare incurred. I had dealt with Duncan from the first stages of making this booking and have seldom, perhaps never, dealt with a representative of a company who has been so helpful, amicable and constructive on every aspect of the arrangements. As a result of my experiences with Madame Vacances staff, in spite of a potentially serious issue arising, partly due to my own communications, I couldn't be happier with the service I experienced and it has made me very keen to come back to Madame Vacances in appreciation of how helpful and professional the staff mentioned were.

Great value break
We booked a stay in Flaine prior to Christmas. Duncan was very helpful during the booking process, and happily answered follow up questions. Accommodation represented good value for the chosen dates, but would look like poor value at peak or mid-season prices.

Outstanding customer service
The guy I spoke to at the UK office (Duncan) could not have been more helpful. I had already chose the ski holiday for the new year break and he was able to offer advice on ski packages, lift passes and parking. I then phoned back to ask about February half term and he was able to make a great recommendation and even gave me a discount as I booked two holidays in the same day. He had stayed at both hotels so could offer first hand knowledge and recommendations. In fact I only phoned back due to the great customer service I got from the first call!

What a surprise
It was so easy to choose a location and book on line, although confusingly making a booking for a period of less than seven days, doesn't 'come up with' a response that you cannot do this. The web site only says there are no bookings available at that time and by implication in that location. ( At least that it what it did for my chosen location!)
So the site could be improved.

Thanks very much for your review. In response to your comments about making a booking for a period of less than 7 nights, there is no automatic response that you cannot do this as it is not always the case. In certain resorts, during certain periods only 7 night stays are available, however in others, shorter stays are available. Therefore it is not a rule that bookings for a period of less than 7 nights are not possible. The message appears that there are no bookings available at that time and in that location in function with the resort, availability, and the period chosen. Having said this I do agree that in the case whereby short stays aren't possible but there is availability for a 7 night stay, it would be helpful if a message was generated prompting the user to choose a 7 night stay instead. Thanks again for your feedback and we shall take on board your comments as constantly strive to improve our website and booking process.

Straight forward booking
We have only just booked our holiday, so this review only relates to the booking experience and so I have only given 4 stars until we know whether we got what we expected. The process was quite straight forward and we have had constructive email correspondence with a rep since. We were disappointed that the apartment we wanted was sold while we were considering it, so it might be a good idea to develop a system whereby you can tell people that there is only one apartment of a particular size left and/or that other people are considering it.
We are looking forward to a great Holiday.

Thanks very much for your booking and for your positive review of our booking service. I'm sorry to hear that the larger apartment that you wanted in St Sorlin d'Arves had sold out whilst you were considering it. We do actually have a system in place whereby if there are few units remaining for a particular apartment type, an 'almost full' warning sign appears. This would normally appear in this case so its puzzling to hear that it didn't. I shall look into it to see if it a recurring error that we need to resolve. In future, if you're keen on a particular apartment, it's best to give us a call and find out how many are left in order to avoid missing out.

Good for the price
The apartment was fine for 2 people in a 5/6 size. The kitchen equipment was minimal and restricted what could be prepared and cooked.
To get to my apartment from the car park involved 31 concrete step. These sure poorly lit with no hand rail. I tripped down the last few steps a nd injured myself- hopefully with no lasting damage- but it could have been very serious and it would not have happened if there was a hand rail. Please for the safety of all your clients fix handrails.--

Beautiful location for some late summer sun
My wife and I stayed at the Résidence Provence Country Club - SAUMANE DE VAUCLUSE for a week this September.
We had a very nice one bed apartment looking out onto the golf course. It was clean and bright with all facilities.
From there we were able to explore Provence and its beautiful towns and villages.
The town is about one mile from the Country Club and has many shops and restaurants.
The booking process was easy and upon arrival everything worked seamlessly. The reception at the Country Club were friendly and helpful.
On the downside, they charge 5 Euros a day if you want to watch the TV in your apartment. For this they give you the remote control. I could understand them charging a deposit to guarantee return of the remote, but 5 Euros a day charge is ridiculous.
The worst thing was the restaurant at the Club House. In a fantastic location overlooking the golf course and land beyond, totally ruined by the arrogant manager.
Upon arrival, having driven hundreds of miles, I went to the restaurant to check opening hours etc. All the details outside confirmed that it was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. There was even the usual French menus @ x Euros on the board. However, when we arrived for dinner we were told that the whole restaurant had in fact been given over to a local birthday party bash and they could not serve us any food. I spoke with the manager who had elusions of grandeur, thought he was running a major restaurant in Paris. Could not even say sorry, very abrupt and arrogant....

I am very impressed with the speed, understanding and delivery of customer care that I received from Madame Vacances: shame they didn't tell us of the poor menu, level of pool-side cleanliness and the late opening of the pool area in general - perhaps they didn't know. I shall be reviewing Apartment di Los Fiscos on Trip Advisor.

The prices are fantastic and affordable! The images are great and when you book the holiday accomodation, the prices shown are what you actually pay with no hidden fees. Email confirmation of our booking was sent almost immediately. Really looking forward to our holiday which we know we can trust to be as fabulous as the site advertises.

Very easy to book but amazed there is no account log in option
Easy to book in English despite this obviously being a French company. There is no account to log in - so I was unable to see my balance outstanding or pay online etc.
Emails were good though as payment reminders although dates were always wrong!
Call centre staff raelly helpful on every call - bit frustrated prices are only shown in Euros for my balance and on a constantly moving exchange rate - was told balance was £10 less than was actually taken from my card.

We've tried to provide a response to each of your comments below...
Regarding the account log in, this is an improvement that we have recently identified and we are actually in the process of developing such an account login system which will hopefully be active soon.
As for prices appearing in Euros, if you are in the UK, the prices should normally show in Pounds, however we've been having some technical problems recently resulting in the price showing in Euros instead. We are currently working hard to resolve this.
Regarding the balance being quoted as less than what was actually taken, this is likely to be a result of the technical problem mentioned above. Due to this problem we have recently been quoting prices in pounds based on the exchange rate at the time. We do always try to make it clear that this price is a rough guideline and may not be the exact amount that is taken. We do apologize for any miscommunication but this issue should be resolved once our prices are showing in Pounds again.
