We found what we wanted and then…
We found what we wanted and then proceeded to checkout, at which point we found we had to pay a hefty delivery charge, even though it clearly states that delivery is free. We were spending £600 too!
We contacted the company where a girl just kept repeating that it was in the small print that there would be a charge for certain areas. We live in North Yorkshire, not the outer hebridea! Good luck with finding anything other than 'free delivery immediately visible! Very disappointing but the goods seem fine and prices are competitive. I think this is probably a decent company, its just that I just hate being tricked. This was posted 13th Oct.
Very quickly after the above was posted, I received a very nice reply from the company. The initial phone conversation hadn't been helpful, just a very scripted response, but I feel confident that they will address the issues I raised. Like I said, the goods seem great (not yet installed but I'm very hopeful!) and I'm impressed with how the company have responded. With this in mind, I'm upgrading to 4 stars. Thank you.

Firstly, I would just like to address the charge for delivery. Although we use our own transport to deliver orders, unfortunately we cannot deliver to all areas across the country, and an external courier is required which does incur a further cost. We try to advertise as clearly as possible on the "delivery tab" of all product pages, whether a post code is excluded from the areas covered by our own vans. There is a post code map that breaks down the areas, and I can see your area is in zone 4 which is subject to a charge. However, we will of course look into ways of making this more clear prior to purchase. I do hope that this was advised when you called, but I sincerely apologise if this was not the case.
Despite the above, I am glad to you liked the order and the prices paid. We try to be as competitively priced as possible on our products and delivery, therefore it is rewarding to hear you are happy with this part of our service.
We have fallen below your expected standard of service, and I understand this isn't good enough. We hope you can provide us with an opportunity in the future to give you the high level of service we always aim for.

bought a flu elbow for fire bird boiler, easy transaction good price £19 , but delivery cost and packaging to expensive item was very light i could have sent it for £3-80 ish it cost over £10, not happy with that.

I regret to read that you are not fully satisfied with our delivery charges. We try to be as competitively priced on both our products and delivery where possible. I have looked into the order and can see the item purchased is not stocked with us, and is sent directly from the manufacturer therefore this does reflect on the cost of delivery, as we too incur a charge delivering directly from them. However, we do review our delivery options and will certainly take this on board when doing so, to ensure we can provide the best possible service for our customers.

We got there in the end but my initial…
We got there in the end but my initial experience wasn’t good. I had ordered 2 rads: one from Low Cost and one from Screwfix, paying by card. Screwfix, as usual, let me authorise my plumber to collect it, but Low Cost refused without seeing the card. As I would have had to make a special journey for that, we reversed the transaction and the plumber collected it & paid in cash.

Our transport team work hard to ensure that all delivery timescales are met and I regret to read that on this occasion our efforts fell below our usual standards and in return caused a late delivery. The original delay was due to one of the items being restocked that week, and secondly it was down to us not covering your area using our own transport meaning we were reliant on our external courier.
We never intend to delay our customers and hope to hold enough stock to fulfill orders as soon as possible and we are so sorry for any inconvenience we caused you. The oil central heating boiler and…
The oil central heating boiler and parts arrived on the agreed day. I had been advised by telephone the previous day that delivery would occur between 11 and 12pm. However, the reminder that arrived at 17:39 gave a delivery time of 05:15-07:13. This meant that the driver and myself struggled to offload the 151kg boiler from the van, as it was too early to disturb any neighbours or get anyone else. There was no loading equipment and we had to transfer the boiler to my small wheelbarrow and i had to get a neighbour's help later to take the boiler off the barrow and stand it upright on the floor.
I think this could have been dangerous, to the driver and possibly myself if it had fallen. The driver might have been injured while slowly sliding the boiler from the van step onto the barrow due to its weight. I was worried that it would be damaged but did not want to turn the delivery away.
Whilst i appreciate there was only the driver in the vehicle, i think that where there is a very bulky, heavy breakable item, where a delivery charge is levied, alternative measures are needed to ensure safe delivery. Also, not everyone may have neighbours able to help.

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the number of errors that have occurred regarding the delivery of your order. Our delivery schedules are officially booked in the afternoon prior to delivery, therefore timescales provided before this are subject to change. On rare occasions there may be a drop that is outside of our delivery timescales, however the customer should always be called to ensure this is a suitable time for them. I sincerely apologise if you were not given this call and only notified via the system notifications. This is a lack of service on our part and is simply inexcusable.
In regards to the actual delivery itself, i'm disappointed to hear that the driver wasn't equipped with a trolley to help offload this from the van, as this is one of our most standard procedures and all drivers should have the sufficient equipment for a smooth delivery. I have forwarded this to our transport manager to ensure this does not happen again in the future.
We aim to exceed our customers expectations and we understand that we have fallen below the expected standard on this occasion and for this we sincerely apologise. We will use this as a turning point to reflect on and improve our service.

I regret to read that you are not fully satisfied with the level of service we provided during your recent order with us.
Firstly, I would just like to apologise that the item was out of stock at point of order. We try and stock as many products as possible to fulfill orders, but due to an increased demand on certain products unfortunately our stock levels have fallen lower than what we aim to keep in stock at all times.
From looking into this, I can see that unfortunately there was a delay on delivery of the item into us. However, I can see that your delivery has now been complete well ahead of schedule. But we do of course sincerely apologise for the delay and that it has taken us three weeks to get the order to you. It is never our intention to delay our customers and we try to stock as many products as possible for us to fulfill orders but we just do not have the capacity i'm afraid.
We aim to exceed our customers expectations and we understand that we have fallen below the expected standard on this occasion and for this we sincerely apologise. We will use this as a turning point to reflect on and improve our service.

Excellent Value for Money …
Looking everywhere for a reasonably priced 2 meter shower tray all were in the £600 price range. Then I came across Low Cost Plumbing and boy they are as good as they’re name, 2000mm x 900mm Shower Tray and a 1200 x 1900 10mm wet room screen with brackets delivered for under £450 including VAT. Delivery was the best I have ever had with the most helpful driver and they’d customer service is second to none. The product was excellent by the way.
