Efficient removals
We had some furniture removed and put into storage in preparation for some building work at our property. Brad & James were friendly and efficient, taking their time to ensure the job was done properly.

Late arrival at our previous address…
Late arrival at our previous address meant that our furniture did not arrive at our new house until 5.00 pm in the middle of a storm and the boxes could not then be put upstairs. Had the company arrived earlier in the morning.this could have been avoided. Made a very stressful move.

Experienced saved by offload crew Connel and Neil.
Our removals from Wiltshire to Yorkshire was poorly managed by this company. After the survey I was given a vague idea of how the move would take place (We'll pick up Friday and maybe pickup some more on Monday, then deliver on Tuesday) for a move of less than 50 cubic meters. On the day, the loading crew seemed to have no communication with the office, we were getting calls from the office notifying us of changes to the plan which the loading crew were unaware of. The loading crew were annoyed and getting in touch with the office and it got a bit awkward. The lorry didn't turn up for the offload on the Tuesday until 1400. The offload crew said it was scheduled for 2 days, which was different to what we had been told by the office. After a bit of discussion when we agreed the fault lay with the office, the offload crew, Conell and Neil, were incredibly helpful and hard working, managing to offload the entire load in about 3 hours. If I could give Connel and Neil 5 stars and the office 1 star then I would. Thank you Connel and Neil for taking the time to understand, for being positive, for recognising that my wife and I were under stress, and having the presence of mind and skill to de-escalate the situation. Your hard work, empathy and flexibility help us enormously, we asked a lot of you and you absolutely delivered. Our experience of this company was disappointing. I cannot fault the attitude, good nature, proffessionalism, and work ethic of Connel and Neil.

Arrived slightly later than…
Arrived slightly later than 'advertised'. No problem. Property removed from house and loaded into Van in a timely fashion.
Returned to new property to place property into the 'new' address. Complied with our wishes to leave property in specific locations indicated.
Whole process was completed quickly.

Reassuringly professional
The Leatherbarrows team moved me from a storage unit in Berkshire to my house in Fife. They were superb from quote to delivery. Chris and Neil loaded up and a few days later Steve delivered. Cheerful, helpful and professional throughout. Got to say, Steve's manoeuvring of the lorry to reverse through the gates with a couple of cms to spare and around a tight bend had to be seen to be believed. Great job. Thank you.

Move from Chester, UK to Alicante, Spain
We've recently used Britannia to move from our home in Chester to Alicante, Spain and generally, the experience has been fine. All the initial paperwork and collection was great and once our shipped belongings finally arrived, Steven (the delivery driver) was absolutely amazing in helping us unload everything and bring it up to our first floor apartment. We genuinely couldn't recommend Steven highly enough, he was great. The only reason this is a 4 Star review and not a 5 Star one is that the delivery date for our belongings to arrive got pushed back / delayed 4 times and took nearly 3 months to finally arrive from the UK collection date in September. This meant that unfortunately, we were put to additional expense having to purchase certain things (bedding) as the warm weather gave way to chillier mornings and evenings. While we acknowledge ours was a part-load and that the delays were not down to Britannia directly (we were told other part-loads in the chain kept being delayed), there's seemingly no mechanism or facility to ensure delivery on a smaller van once there's been a couple of delays. I would respectfully suggest that this is something the company might want to look at for future part-loads that experience delays, in order to ensure people who are paying quite a serious chunk of money to get their stuff shipped abroad receive their belongings within a reasonable time frame. Having said this, we have our stuff now and generally, other than the delays, our experience was, overall, a positive one.

The chaps doing the actual moves were extremely good. Unfortunately the same can't be said for administration. I would advise anyone contemplating using Leatherbarrows to ensure they get anything agreed clearly confirmed in writing.
