I phoned Laya as I needed to add a trip outside Europe to my existing travel insurance policy. The lady I spoke to was really helpful and she compared the price for upgrading my policy to worldwide with adding a single trip to my policy. She got me the best price.

I was sold Laya Travel Insurance, with terms that turned out to be bogus.

When my flights were cancelled by the airline, I made a claim on the policy. I was offered 15 Euros for my cancelled flight, and not 600-800 Euros, as stated in the policy schedule, for delayed and cancelled flights.

Laya hide behind Segwick Ltd, and do not deal directly with policy holders. There is no way to contact Laya directly about it, to complain of misleading selling of policies.

Beware, this is a scam!

Terrible travel insurance, avoid at all costs. My relative who I was travelling with had a bad accident while abroad and literally broke his back so we couldn’t fly home on our expected date and laya would do nothing to help with new flights. I’ve multiple policies with them and cancelling them all. Total waste of time paying for their travel insurance.

My trip was cancelled due to the Middle East War prior to travelling. Of course no cover under this policy and so I requested a refund of the policy since I was not going to be able to use it. No response from the insurer - off to the Ombudsman to sort.

I just want to say that Lauren answered my call for my travel insurance quote and is an angel. People like her are few and far between these days and she has super customer service skills. 5 stars 🌟

Appalling product. I give it a star as the case worker Oyion was so kInd along with Lauren in sales who was very skilled as well as gentle when I lodged a product complaint. Such a disappointing service from a Laya and AIG based product whose health, car, home are wonderful. Emergency admittal to hospital in non english speaking country and you call a UK number which is ok once off but you must repeatedly call if you miss them so my phone bill on an Irish mobile now costs more than my policy. I was told only one case worker would be in contact however I received emails and calls from others unknown to me. AIG New Hampshire number repeatedly called and then hung up when I asked why I was being called. I then got an email telling me my case was closed. I am unwell. I spoke with my caseworker and yet? I emailed and asked for my case worker to call me. I got a call from a Brighton number I let go to voice mail. Hearing this was a legit number I allowed the call through. But this was a different representative again who told me my case was closed and wanted me to give her my security details before I could speak with my caseworker. In fairness when I explained why I could not I was put through and had a very clear, kind and direct conversation with my caseworker only to find out once the emergency has passed I now have to deal with a claims Division also uk based
So, my phone bill increases. They say they will take 5 days to get to respond to an email. Whether or not I get a refund is still unclear. Based on reviews here it seems unlikely..Stay away from this LAYA/ AIG travel product even if you read the fine print or told you may have to call a UK hotline. Its convoluted, adds expensive uk calls to your bill and most of all adds hugely to an already anxious time. Laya and AIG so much better than this.

- Repeatedly calling a UK number, leading to high phone bills
- Multiple, uncoordinated contacts from different case workers
- dismissed, especially while unwell
- Case closed without resolution
- Difficulty getting a callback from your assigned case worker

My flight got cancelled when I was abroad and Ryanair said they won't cover me because the cancellation was caused by the airport staff strike. I purchased another flight from another airline but Laya Travel Insurance wouldn't cover that expense. Their cover is useless... they offered me 15 euro per person!

I have signed up for the Laya Travel Insurance - Annual Multi-Trip Medicare since March this year, my policy number is LAY0240218 and my first attempt to claim a cancelled trip I had in September has been a nightmare. They have this third-party company Sedgwick where we need to send the form and documents, via email. My Reference Number is #TVL/24/12003 and since 13/09/2024 I haven't heard anything from them, every time I call they say it is still in the queue to be analysed and there is no ETA when they will do it. What a frustrating experience so far. That was the first and will be the last time I buy Laya Travel Insurance.

If there would be less than 1 star, they would deserve it. We paid 100 euro to make sure we are covered for the trip Dublin to Georgia and Back , with layovers.
The flight on the way back was delayed and we missed our connection from Türkiye to Dublin. I got explained on the phone, we are not intitled for any refund as they COVER ONLY DIRECT FLIGHTS AND NOT ONE WITH CONNECTIONS! I sent multiple emails asking to have it written but they are just ignoring. SCAMMERS. I recommend to stay far away from them.

Last February I purchased travel insurance from Layatravel. It was for 2 going to Orlando via Air Lingus., March 24, for 2 weeks. All flights were cancelled, Trump shut down America.In April I contacted Laya, and asked for a voucher,or refund.
No. Laya were polite but firm. Rules are rules. 14 day cancellation after purchase only.No ifs or buts.the virus situation was no reason for a voucher. All American companies, refunded or vouchered .Aer Lingua voucherd. Hotels,car hire refunded.
The only one who said NO,? .Laya travel.
Would have no confidence in this company, if needed I think Laya would find some little reason to back away
