It's not multi-level marketing (I've done that) and it's not a cult (cults control your finances and/or access to friends and family, which I never saw).

It is confronting, but in my opinion, for me at least (cynical and resistant) that's what was required to facilitate the many breakthroughs I had during and after the Forum and the Advanced course.

Yes, the super-excited new graduates can be annoying. Yes, you are encouraged to share your breakthroughs with friends and family, and to invite people to introduction sessions. But all of that is voluntary. There's no shaming or anything like that (at least I never felt shamed). The "bring your friends and family" thing can be annoying, but you can say No if that's what you feel is the best response for you. On the other hand, if you just had a massive breakthrough in your personal life, why wouldn't you want to share it? Some people will be annoyed, which they'll survive, and some people will attend and will get something far beyond what they expected. You can do you in the course and it will be fine. I thought about deducting one star for the minor things I wasn't a fan of, but frankly, I got so much out of it that focusing on a few annoyances seems ungrateful.

The Forum is a mentally intense 2.5 days and you come out the other side with a new perspective, but you will still be you, just, in most cases, freer than you went in.

I did the Forum around 1992, then the Advanced Course and a few seminars. Then I didn't have anything to do with Landmark until 2012 when I reviewed the Forum, and I haven't had anything to do with them since.

My take on the recruitment (as a professional marketer): It's not a charity, they've got a powerful mental training technology and they seem committed to making it available to as many people as possible, that requires participants, and that doesn't happen without effort. They can either go the traditional route with advertising, or they can let the participants speak for themselves. They chose the latter. I also suspect that they have structured the "tell and bring friends and family" aspect as not just a way to bring in new people, but as a way for people to confront their own resistance to "putting themselves out there".

My take on cost (as a former employee/trainer for Anthony Robbins): When I did the Forum it was $400 for a 2.5 day weekend and a two-month, one evening a week seminar (that is voluntary, but exists to help you solidify what you got out of the weekend). By comparison, Tony had a 2.5 day seminar that was about $2,000. I enjoyed both, and I saw people get real breakthroughs in Tony's seminars, but for me, the Forum was much more effective regardless of the fact that it was significantly less expensive. So expense is a relative concept.

Is it the end-all-be-all for everyone? Probably not, but it was the most powerful 2.5 days I've experienced, and 40 years of perspective hasn't changed that opinion.

I have attended many trainings between my professional career and my pursuit of empowering knowledge, I've also conducted many trainings...as a national trainer for Anthony Robbins, as a corporate department head, as tactics trainer for law enforcement, and now as a consultant to the U.S. military -- the Forum leaders, despite being nobodies in terms of personal branding, are the best I've encountered with regards to effective transmission of concepts your ego may not care to confront.

For background context: My life experiences include - combat veteran, lifelong martial artist, financial and managerial responsibility for $7M marketing budget and 80 staff, travelled to 33 countries and have lived in three, blessed with amazing friends and family. My mother is an ordained Buddhist monk, and I'm a Christian (I offer my background so that people with similar backgrounds can relate to my experience. My life, like everyone's, has not been devoid of mistakes, failure, and hardships).

I got the relationship I always wanted with my Dad out of the Advanced Course. He's passed on now but I'm grateful on a daily basis for that, which was just one of the benefits I got out of the Forum and the Advanced course.

BTW: The other tool I've been really happy with is Transcendental Meditation. If you're stressed or anxious it's an amazing way to reset your brain in 20 minutes.

It is waste of time and psychologically draining. I was forced to take up this in spite my reluctance. I feel they are building a community of psychological fools.

I feel very lucky to have participated in The Landmark Forum and very grateful to the friend who introduced me to it. The program helped me have a whole new way of living and perspective to look at my life, my relationships with myself and others. I now have this endless source of energy and power to take on any challenges and to create what I want in areas that really matter to me. And of course, I have never been any happier and more satisfied in life than I am now after the forum. This is SO beneficial and transformational. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone who want to live an extraordinary life. To anyone who has a doubt, I'd just genuinyly say "Do it, it's awesome ! :) "

I would definitely recommend the forum and Landmark’s other courses to almost anyone. They have completely changed my whole approach to business and made me more effective in my relationships and life.

Before Landmark, I unconsciously saw myself as a complete victim of my circumstances! The course I’m in right now showed me that I have the ability to chose to be in control.

The leaders are very powerful and extremely well trained.

Though their sales process can feel a little salesey, I genuinely think their intention is to help people. And to be fair, they can’t help them if they don’t do the course.

It's dangerous. They psychologically play you by having you sit in a room from morning to late night until you're exhausted and saying you can't go out and socialise after (esp with non landmark people). Then you do the same thing the next day and after 2 days of exhaustion and brain washing they ask for your credit card details to lock you into the next program. Not even to talk about the danger of bringing up trauma with people but not giving them the support to do it safely.

It is informative, but on a very basic sense of self development. If you have any understanding of self development then you already know what they will teach you. Life is exactly what it is and that's it! They tell you we are all meaning creating machines and there is no meaning to life, you are where you will ever be and that's it! I knew life is just life, but they try to tell you to not search for any meaning and life is just what it is, so sit with where your at because that's it! I believe we create our own reality plus thoughts are just that thoughts. She tried to push were all trapped and the more we try to escape the more trapped we get! I'm well aware life is just life but they push get people to take the forum when if they taught me what their suppose to teach me couldn't I tell them for free? Push the sale, get the forum, get everyone to get the forum! Why can't people just help people without pushing them to spend 700$ I can tell people for free just ask I'll tell you that your thoughts are just your thoughts, and if you buy into them or let them control you then your in trouble. But give me 700 to tell you that, oh I told you, you owe me 700$

There's nothing more I can say than what hasn't been said on these one star reviews. This company is all about selling their services and brainwashing others folks to recruit family/friends/etc. to do it, too. They are incredibly aggressive about it, and it's quite unsettling.

Recently, I had a long time friend and actually a fraternity brother do landmark worldwide. I appreciated the fact he reached out to me over a number of years of no contact. But all I sensed was “sell, sell, sell” him the forum. To be honest, he did a horrible job in explaining what it was and I did try my best to supportive of him. As a close friend, he gave me very vague answers to my questions and I had to research most of Landmark online.

I ended up getting pressured to sign up for the class 3 months ahead, but eventually cancelled because I realized I am only signing up as a favor to him and did not think this will benefit me.

But what I truly was disgusted by was how he used psychological tricks into making you think this would be beneficial, like asking what needs to be improved in my life and what I was doing to fix that. And although I gave superb examples, they always say “what I’m hearing is…” doubt, hesitation, different approach, etc…. Like nothing is good enough for them.

So it may help a few people that just need to share and let things out/off their chest and minds, but if you are already living a great life, you absolutely don’t need Landmark because you can achieve those things yourself.

Transformed my life and I've been in the work for years. I was told about Landmark by a group of friend, very curious and just wanted a break from my business, I decided to sign up for the weekend. Oh my days, I thought to myself, why isn't this type of education taught in schools! If I could, I would have done it at the earliest opportunity. It's really not a cult, I'm a man of religious faith, I wouldn't sign up to some cult for sure. Some reviews here have it that it is, it really isn't. They mend family relationships, gave me peace of mind like I've never had before. I really really encourage people to do it, try it, you will get something out of it. Go in with a open mind and look to improve yourself.

This might as well be a cult. Do not pay for this. Host was very rude and dismissive

Was invited to a taster session, online due to the pandemic. Talked at constantly for over 3 hours with no break, a mix of pop psychology, scientology, Buddhist quotes and brainwashing techniques, then a hard sell to sign up for nearly six hundred pound for a course. I had to persistently say 'no' to forking out but my 'no' wasn't being accepted. Exhausted but relieved to finally disentangle myself. Wish I could give it zero points.

The Landmark Forum is a three day course 9am - to 10pm. You may ask why the days are so long. It's simple. The whole course is a pyramid system to get you to push it to as many friends and family as possible. The course offers nothing but a mix of Buddism, Realism and the idea that you NEED this course to be an "Authentic" Person. It's nothing more than a cheap magician show that uses mind tricks to get people to fit their life experiences into the course narrative. Save your money. Don't waste it on this

I wanted to write a straight and fair review of Landmark as I was involved for two+ years. The first thing I want to say - which may be controversial for some - is that, in my opinion, Landmark is a cult albeit a helpful one.

If you do feel drawn to participate I would recommend reserving the option of getting in and getting out. This will not be encouraged by Landmark. However, some people are suited to staying in and some are not (I was in this category).

The Landmark Forum itself is great. This is the entry level program. During my time there I attended several Forums. It is very much Landmark 101 and the leaders are astonishing. You will get something for yourself on this course for sure. You don't even have to participate in further courses to win although you will be encouraged to do so.

I would recommend doing the Landmark Forum and the Communication Courses. If you can do the Communication Courses in London do them with Elliot Stein. He's a genuinely warm and hugely entertaining guy and you will feel your heart flower during the Communication Courses.

What didn't work for me was the Team, Management and Leadership Program and being around the London Centre. This is where things can get a little weird. Some people are suited to the Landmark Centre culture (cult-like) and some people are not.

It is very easy to make yourself wrong because you don't buy it or fit in.

There is a little bit of 'but the emperor has no clothes on' (participant speaking) and then being coached on 'why would you say that?' (staff/volunteer) whilst the emperor himself (some Landmark policy or directive) stands naked in the wind, flapping.

My takeaway from Landmark - besides an aversion to most things Landmark (which will pass) - was a new sense of being personally tough in terms of my life and my business.

After everything that went down during my year's training on TMLP I emerged caring less about what other people thought of me.

I also took away some of the great presentation skills I saw displayed by Elliot and the best. That was a pleasure.

If you are someone who likes a bit of a kicking (military background perhaps) then Landmark will work for you and could be exciting. If you do have an experience of sometimes being at the detriment of a group then you might want to think twice before getting involved.

Or get in and get out - like a cold shower.

Coming into landmark I never knew what integrity truly was. Today I can say that my listening of others and what it means to be a human being has shifted. If everyone took the time to do this course and be on the court by being coachable humanity would shift to a different level.

Went first day no problem very intense course had nap after dinner break for 30 mins and then wouldn’t let me finish 3 days cost £550 which is very expensive and it’s sell sell sell in ur face then all the time
