MENSEN ga niet met deze man in zee.
Je bent duizenden euro’s kwijt en nog is de boot niet goed. Deze man heeft meer schade aangericht en nu moet ik maar zien gemaakt te krijgen.
Een rekening sturen daar is die goed in moet hem ook direct betalen ik snap wel waarom nu.
En als je verhaal gaat halen is het allemaal je eigen probleem.
Dus MENSEN ga niet in zee met deze man en zijn mooie praatjes geloof het niet.

Terrible experience! A total nightmare. I wasted several thousand euros on this incompetent, dishonest, thug. It's a long story but basically everything he fixed broke immediately, he insisted on charging large amounts to fix his mistakes, which then broke again. That's just the start of a horrible story.
Take my advice and stay away.

WARNING! Read the bad reviews online carefully and avoid this incompetent, dishonest, cheat. I wish I had! One other reviewer called Rob Kooijman "nothing but a thug" and unfortunately I have to agree. 100% of what he did on my boat malfunctioned causing further problems and damage, or was an unnecessary rip off.
For example, he told me "we charge 80 euros per hour" then he charged 130 because he brought his young apprentice with him to look over his shoulder. He also charged me a huge amount for his apprentices to later (unsuccessfully) fix his own mistakes after he had disappeared. When I asked about paying for this, they threatened me. After wasting 3700 euros for nothing on this KooBoat, I spent another 1000 a few days later to have a proper mechanic fix all his mistakes. He tested properly and told me parts that Mr Kooijman said were broken, we're in fact fine. One of the worst experiences of my life. When you express any dissatisfaction, he blocks you and disappears. I am seeking compensation through the Netherlands Consumer Protection Agency.

I hired Rob Kooijman of KooBoat to fix a problem on my small boat. In brief;

1) He told me, "We charge 80 euro per hour for labour and 50 euro call out fee." But then he charged much more because he brought a young apprentice who he was teaching. It was 80 euro per hour for the Mr Kooijman, and a previously undisclosed 50 per hour for the apprentice. He also obviously added hours that he didn't actually work.

2) When he took away the first alternator, he forgot to take its control box. He sent his apprentice back later to get that box, and charged me another 100 euros for that!

3) The reconditioned alternator he installed malfunctioned immediately. Also every gauge on my control panel suddenly failed at the same time.
Because he had gone on holidays, he sent two apprentices - young boys, to put another second hand alternator in. He wanted 450 euros for these unqualified boys to try and fix his mistake. (Even this was more than double what it should have been) When I questioned paying more to correct his mistake, the boys threatened to force their way onto the boat and rip out the second alternator they had just replaced. As it turned out, this would have been better because they wired it incorrectly and destroyed the starter battery.
In addition, they installed the second replacement alternator in the wrong position with the moving belt rubbing against the rubber cooling water intake. Two days later I discovered rubber dust everywhere on the engine and an almost destroyed belt and cooling pipe. These both needed to be replaced.

4) The second alternator that the apprentices installed was incorrectly wired. The apprentices obviously didn't know what they were doing. The following day I found that the alternator was hot even though the engine hadn't been used. It was drawing power out of the starter battery rather than putting it in. This destroyed both the alternator and the starter battery, which I had to replace.

5) Mr Kooijman advised me to install 2 new batteries for the bow thruster. I agreed because we agreed this would mean I would have 2 additional batteries in the boat, so more available power. However, he simply removed my two existing expensive batteries and replaced them with cheaper ones. When I asked him why he didn't put the new batteries in the extra space in the bow that he said he was going to use, he said he couldn't run a cable to that place. However, there were already cables between the two positions, so this was not correct.
He then told me the pair of batteries he took out were no good and worthless and he would take them away. I was suspicious and said I wanted to keep one. I later had it tested by an expert who told me it was as good as new. So, this mechanic tricked me into taking a battery worth 625 euros. He replaced my two 625 euro batteries with two others worth 250 euros each, and kept the better one.
