A Cautionary Tale for Anyone Considering Kitchen Connection

If I could give Kitchen Connection zero stars, I would.

We engaged Kitchen Connection in November 2025 to build a simple entertainment unit. No plumbing. No electrical work. Just cabinetry. Despite this, it took almost six months before the project was finally completed in May 2026.

One of our key requirements from the outset was that installation occur immediately after delivery. We specifically raised this concern with the sales team because we did not want our home turned into a storage facility while waiting for installers. We were assured that installation could be scheduled for the day after delivery. However, once the contract was signed and we were handed over to the operations team, that assurance suddenly became meaningless.

The first issue arose after the check measure stage, when Kitchen Connection informed us that their manufacturer had stopped producing the cabinet style we had selected. We were told that no changes could be made after check measure, yet somehow Kitchen Connection's supplier was able to discontinue the product after that point. Not exactly confidence-inspiring project management.

We were then advised that delivery would occur on 30 April 2026, but installation would not happen until 4 May, directly contradicting the assurances given by the sales team.

Unfortunately, things only got worse.

On the day of delivery, Kitchen Connection delivered only part of the project. Nobody informed us beforehand that there was a problem. We had to chase them to find out what had happened. It turned out the benchtop had been damaged during manufacture. Rather than notifying us, rescheduling delivery and installation, and delivering the project once complete, Kitchen Connection chose to dump the incomplete cabinetry in our home and leave it there.

The irony is extraordinary. Their contract includes a clause stating that customers who delay delivery are charged $100 per day in storage fees. Yet when Kitchen Connection's own manufacturing failure meant they could not complete the project, they effectively used our home as their warehouse for free.

The replacement benchtop was not delivered until 7 May, and installation did not occur until 10 May. As a result, our home remained heavily disrupted for 11 days while we stored Kitchen Connection's incomplete project.

When we raised this obvious double standard, the response from the Manager of National Customer Support was astonishing. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or offering any form of compensation, we were told that we had agreed to the contract terms and that this was simply Kitchen Connection's business model.

That statement perfectly summarises our experience.

Kitchen Connection took six months to complete a straightforward entertainment unit, failed to properly manage supplier issues, delivered an incomplete product without informing us, provided inaccurate information regarding installation scheduling, and then left us to bear the consequences of their mistakes. Throughout the process, there was little accountability and no meaningful attempt to compensate us for the significant disruption caused.

The entertainment unit itself may be fine, but the customer experience was one of the worst we have encountered. The biggest mistake we made was choosing Kitchen Connection in the first place.

If you are considering Kitchen Connection for cabinetry, kitchens, or joinery work, proceed with extreme caution. Make sure every promise is documented in writing, assume timelines may be significantly longer than quoted, and be prepared for the possibility that your home could become their storage facility if anything goes wrong.

Not recommended - poorly managed and very stressful

I was severely disappointed with Kitchen Connection and will never recommend them to anyone. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company and I regret choosing them over the other companies I was considering.

The first issue was that they demolished my kitchen without the cabinetry being ready for installation. This resulted in my having no kitchen for almost 2 months whilst they waited for the cabinets to be completed.

When the cabinetry was finally delivered a number of the items were badly damaged and looked like they had been rolling around in the back of the truck. These were eventually replaced but this added further inconvenience and time to complete the installation.

Further issues occurred when the kitchen bench was delivered chipped. The installer attempted to pass this off by adjusting the bench and filling the chipped area with epoxy however this looked obvious and clearly wasn't an acceptable solution. They took the bench away to fix the issue however the second time they installed it it still had the chip and the epoxy. Finally they replaced the bench top but again at further inconvenience and time.

Even more issues were encountered with the cabinetry after installation and a number of items had to be redone.

The splash back required two visits to install as the pieces were not cut correctly to the measurements.

Once the kitchen was completed I noticed that the tiling laid floor wasn't level and the fridge has a 5mm tilt to one side. I gave up at this stage as I did not want to have the floor replaced and had to chock one side of the fridge up to stop a very obvious lean.

Some other factors you might want to consider if you are thinking about using Kitchen Connection:
* Their contract puts the responsibility of checking their measurements on the customer
* Their customer service manager, "CSM", is not a project manager. There is no project management of the project at all. It is up to you to monitor and check everything
* The sales tactics are high pressure
* The trades are all separate businesses and are not Kitchen Connection
* You pay in full before they install
* There is a "3rd storey and above" surcharge on all trades if you live in an apartment. It is a mystery to my why this is needed if there is a lift, parking and good access and it would take the same time and effort to install if I was on the first or second level. I would understand if they had to climb the stairs but this was not the case.

The issues other than the slope in the floor were eventually resolved however the project took almost 3 months from the date when the demolished the kitchen to when the work was completed.

WARNING

WARNING: High-pressure sales tactics.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company. Their entire process felt focused on pushing customers into signing a contract as quickly as possible, before having the opportunity to properly research pricing or compare alternatives.

They offered what appeared to be a “discount,” but it felt more like inflated pricing being reduced with a voucher to create the illusion of value. Even after the discount, the pricing was still significantly higher than comparable options on the market.

The sales staff were initially very accommodating in arranging an in-home consultation. However, the “designer” who attended was unprofessional, dismissive, and clearly focused on securing a contract rather than providing genuine design advice or transparency around costs.

When I asked for a quote and explained that I wanted to understand the pricing before proceeding further, the attitude changed immediately. I was told, “I did not come here to do a quote,” which was both surprising and inappropriate given the purpose of the visit. The interaction quickly became uncomfortable and confrontational.

I ultimately asked him to leave and ended the consultation there.

There were simply too many red flags for me to continue. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others not to engage with this company. The sales approach felt highly manipulative and, in my opinion, crossed into predatory behaviour.

Our $58K dream kitchen turned into a…

Our $58K dream kitchen turned into a stressful nightmare. When it commenced we were told we would be without a kitchen for 21 days and all works would be completed in 42 days. Well this turned out to be 70 days without a kitchen and 181 days until it was finally completed.
SO DON'T USE THIS COMPANY - WORKMANSHIP, QUALITY CONTROL, AND CUSTOMER
SERVICE ARE NOT GOOD.
When you visit the show room you choose the finishes for your kitchen. A designer then, in your home, designs and prices your kitchen. Then comes the sales pressure to sign the contract and pay a 5% deposit on the spot to go ahead with the kitchen. There is no cooling off period or time to consider your purchase.
We also found them very aggressive when it came time to pay the remaining amount of the contract before the kitchen was delivered. They continued the chase us for the balance even after we had paid it.
The reason they are called Kitchen Connection, (KC), is because they sell you a kitchen and then they connect you to the suppliers and tradespersons that make and install the kitchen. After they supply the kitchen they don’t have much involvement in the process. There is no project management, no foreman on site, there is no one checking that installation is going according to plan, so it's up to you to check the quality of the job and to instruct tradespersons if you think things are not right.
There is no quality control on the items delivered as we had many damaged pieces delivered.
Our Customer Service Manager was less than helpful and he never visited the site during the whole 181 days of our nightmare. Our dealings with him were by phone and email and sending pictures of damaged items.
What were our problems;
1. The Island Cabinetry was not centred correctly on the tiled floor despite requesting this to be done.
2. The benchtop had a small flaw on it which the supplier said we must have made so they would not fix it. After giving them a poor review they have now referred the matter to Caesarstone who to their credit are going to repair it. Like we said above KC do not assist you in these matters.
3. The doors & drawers appear to be moving over time as they are slowly starting to not sit flush. They are all adjustable but you need to know how to do it.
4. The cornice was ripped out without ascertaining that it was easily replaceable. It was not readily available so it had to be made, (at our cost). This caused delays.
5. But the biggest issue was that damaged cabinetry kept being delivered to site and being rejected by the installer. Although the installer did instal the original cabinetry which had 14 panels/doors/draws with obvious damage!
About every month or so they sent replacement pieces and as a rough estimate about half of the replacements were damaged. It has taken five additional deliveries to get all but one piece replaced.
One large panel on the front of our Island cabinetry still has two dents in it. They are only visible if you look sideways at the panel. The supplier has sent 7 replacement panels and everyone has had dents/damage on it. Now they are saying that because the dents are not visible from 1.5 meters looking straight at them that the panel complies with Industry Standards?? And therefor they will not replace it.

So our new kitchen has a dented panel on the front of our Island Bench.

KC do not check anything that is delivered to you. They expect the supplier to do that and obviously in our case they have no quality control either.

SO DON'T BUY A KITCHEN FROM KC! THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL YOU OR CHECK QUALITY CONTROL. THEY BLAME THE SUPPLIERS/TRADIES.

planning a new kitchen

My husband and I are planning a new kitchen for our home on the Central Coast while still living in Sydney. After reading so many positive reviews, we decided to visit the Kitchen Connection showroom in Auburn. From the moment we arrived, Odette and Sara made us feel welcome. Both were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Odette assisted us with design ideas, colours, and options—even though this would normally be handled by the Central Coast store—which we really appreciated.Sara then organised an appointment for us at the Tuggerah store, ensuring all our selected options were carried through seamlessly. This level of service really impressed us. Having installed two kitchens in the past eight years, this will be our third, and we feel very confident that Kitchen Connection will take great care of us.

Avoid Kitchen Connection at All Costs. A Disgraceful Experience

If I could give zero stars, I would.

Our experience with Kitchen Connection has been nothing short of a nightmare. We paid a hefty deposit in good faith, expecting a professional and transparent process. What we got instead was a masterclass in incompetence, delays, and complete disregard for customer care.

After signing, communication went dead silent. We were constantly left chasing them for updates, clarity, and action — and when we did get a response, it was vague, evasive, or contradictory. It became painfully clear that once they have your deposit, you are no longer a priority.

The quality of service (or lack thereof) was appalling. We raised legitimate concerns, and instead of resolving them, Kitchen Connection gave us the runaround. When we finally decided to cut our losses and requested a refund of our deposit due to their failure to deliver what was promised, we were ignored. No accountability, no integrity, just radio silence.

It honestly feels like a bait-and-switch operatio; glossy showroom promises followed by a complete collapse in service once you're locked in. We are now in the process of escalating this through NSW Fair Trading.

Save yourself the heartache, stress, and financial loss. There are plenty of reputable kitchen companies out there. Kitchen Connection is not one of them.

One word. Don’t.

One word - don’t.
Kitchen Connection is a bad choice.
A great start with a brilliant showroom experience, it went south from there. Design process was ok but finished product is not good - two tone under cupboard finish (half black half white), unusable cupboard over stove w exhaust that goes nowhere (no, it doesn’t go outside, it’s just a big unit that vents in the house) and some weird slim cupboard that fits 2 glasses a shelf??!!) Then things got bad, fast. And all money paid before work starts so they’ve got you. Zero project management, or ‘customer success management’ as they term it - a nightmare process and caused us more work and headache than anything. No calls answered or returned, no emails, messages, nothing. No one to help us get the issues sorted. Only pulled together when head office called in at the close of the process. We paid $35K for a kitchen that needs work. A lot of work. We didn’t get KC to do it as we just wanted them gone, it was such a bad stressful experience. They didn’t offer to look at the final product nor ask us if there was anything they could help with. Just like that, they were gone.
We have $15K in make good to get a usable quality kitchen.
A very disappointing experience and would not recommend to anyone. Dreadful, stressful, upsetting and a really bad thing to have gone through.
Just don’t. Look elsewhere.
