My light fixture arrived missing parts

My light fixture arrived missing parts. I didn’t open the box immediately due to having to wait for the electrician/ minor works in the room.

When I contacted the company, instead of fixing their mistake, they expected me to pay and invoiced a bill for £296.95 for the missing part. The original fitting was only £134 (??)

Shipping an incomplete product is bad enough—but charging the customer to correct it is outrageous. This shows a complete lack of quality control and respect for customers.

Do not use.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.

Refused to do anything about 2 very expensive lights which were clearly falsely advertised, the light was fully diffused in the picture and in actuality they were nothing like that. Blamed all sorts of things like bulbs, angle of the picture, intended as illustration etc. to do the mental gymnastics of absolving themselves of any responsibility. This took 3 months, with a reply once a week.

Poor service We ordered two lights on arrival one…

We ordered two lights on arrival one was faulty it didn’t fit together properly I notified them immediately and re engaged to ask for an update as the electricians are booked
These are very expensive lights and I’ve sent photos of the problem but just no customer support
I wish I hadn’t chosen the company
And to make it worse they are emailing me offers when they can’t get a first order right

Lots of comments on here about their poor customer service but I actually found them really helpful both over email and the phone. Can't fault the company and it was a good product at a good price so credit where it's due.

Wouldn’t waste your time

Wouldn’t waste your time ordering from this company. I bought a light which did not suit our home so I followed their rather complicated returns policy (quite obviously set up to make people fail or not bother returning). They confirmed I had met all of their stringent return rules (one being don’t use brown tape on the box or 10% of the light amount will be deducted from your refund - how bonkers!!!!). It’s now been 17 days since the parcel was successfully returned to them and I am without a refund!!!! Avoid

Great product and customer service

Great product and customer service. I needed an external light at short notice so that my electrician could fit it as part of some work he was doing. I ordered the light on the Sunday and on the Monday I phoned the company to ask if they could prioritise my order. I thought it was worth trying but did hold much hope. But to my surprise it arrived this morning (Tuesday). I'm really pleased the light, great quality, and thanks for swift delivery!

Terrible customer service

I purchased a large lantern which arrived damaged due to insufficient packaging. It took 20 phone calls (yes 20!) over a period of weeks to get the item picked up to be returned. It was the worst online buying experience I have had in 25 years and not one of the 6 members of staff I spoke to offered any sort of apology, instead I was ignored, lied to and fobbed off. After the item had been delivered back to KES (I had to wait in for three working days for the courier to collect), I heard nothing for a whole week so I had to call again to get them to issue the refund.

One of the worst customer service…

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. KES Lighting sent me a duplicate order due to their own mistake. I contacted them immediately to report it, expecting a simple and reasonable resolution.
Instead, I was met with aggressive and unreasonable demands to pay the full price within a week for an order I never placed and did not authorize. Despite clearly explaining that this was their error, customer service was rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to take responsibility.
Rather than fixing their mistake, KES Lighting attempted to pressure me into paying for it. This is not how a legitimate, customer-focused business operates.
Be warned: if KES Lighting makes an error, they may try to shift the cost onto you instead of owning it. I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Thank you for your review. We feel it's important to provide some context that has been omitted here.

The duplicate order was indeed sent in error, and we apologise for that. However, upon contacting you, we discovered that the fitting had already been installed. Once a product has been fitted, it is no longer in a condition that can be returned or resold, which is standard practice across the industry and consistent with our terms and conditions.

We did not ask you to pay for an item you didn't want. We asked you to pay for an item you had used.

We understand that wasn't the outcome you were hoping for, and we're sorry the situation arose at all. But we don't believe it's fair to characterise our position as unreasonable given the circumstances.

I ordered lightning for my new house, absolutely beautiful. The lights look amazing in our bedroom and landing.
Highly recommend beautiful quality and amazing finish.

Unhelpful! Money grabbing.. read the fine print

Apparently they are to be told about returns in 7 days and then 30 to return. I missed the 7 day alert to them but was within the 30 to return- although boxed and completely untouched resealable products they would not help return them.. apparently the managing director was consulted?!?! What a company.. dreadful way of treating customers..

Our returns policy is clearly published on our website and sets out the notification and return windows. These terms apply consistently to all customers, and we do have to adhere to them. We understand that's disappointing when a deadline is missed, but we wouldn't be comfortable making exceptions that are unfair to other customers who follow the process correctly.

We genuinely hope you find what you're looking for elsewhere.

Damaged wall light

Ordered wall lights and centre light. Initially only wall lights received but order status said both had been delivered. This was quickly rectified however one of the wall lights were damaged. I have provided photos via customer service email on the 17/12/25 and have since requested a response but have not yet had one.

Appauling customer service from Reece…

Appauling customer service from Reece and James. Dreadful returns policy, and costly to return items. Will never buy from here again, quality not great either. Will stick with Pooky there products are far superior as well as the customer service

Not customer Friendly

I would be very careful when buying from this company as they don't like to give refunds.
Check their terms and conditions as they only want to give you a credit note if your don't like the goods that have been sent. I'm now having to make a claim via Paypal/credit card to get my monies back even though i returned the goods by hand in perfect condition.

Thank you for leaving a review, though we're genuinely sorry to read this.

We do need to address the point about refunds, because this isn't an accurate reflection of our policy. Credit notes apply only to trade account orders. For retail customers, returns are processed as full refunds, not credit notes. That's been our policy for 41 years and it isn't something we've quietly buried in small print.

I strongly advise against buying from…

I strongly advise against buying from this company. Their customer service is not only unhelpful but shockingly rude. When I received a defective item and reached out for support, I was met with dismissive and disrespectful responses and many messages were simply ignored.
They hold your money, refuse to take responsibility, and even make customers pay the full return shipping cost. After checking more reviews, I realized this has happened to many people.
They knowingly send out poor-quality products and treat customers terribly.
This has been one of the rudest and most disappointing customer service experiences I’ve ever had.

You mention checking more reviews and finding similar experiences. We'd respectfully point out that we also have thousands of 5-star reviews from satisfied customers who've had excellent experiences with both our products and service. We're sorry you weren't one of them.

However, we need to address your claim that we "knowingly send out poor-quality products" - this is absolutely untrue and has zero foundation in fact. We would never do this. It sounds like you've been unlucky with a defective item, which does happen occasionally across any business, but that doesn't mean we deliberately send out faulty goods. That suggestion is completely unfounded.

Again, we're sorry you felt ignored or treated badly. That's not the experience we want anyone to have.

To day KES lighting had a County Court…

To day KES lighting had a County Court Judgement applied against them due to the fact they don’t recognise the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Please be aware if you purchase from this company your rights are that you can return with in 30 days and you are NOT required as the consumer to inform them within 48 hours of delivery. This does not apply on a business to business basis.

Let's provide some context that you've conveniently omitted from your review.

First and foremost - we absolutely recognise the Consumer Rights Act 2015. To suggest otherwise is demonstrably false.

Your claim that we require customers to inform us of their intent to return within 48 hours is also complete nonsense. That appears nowhere in our Terms & Conditions. You've either invented this or fundamentally misunderstood our damage reporting policy, which is an entirely separate matter.

You didn't request a return. You reported damage to one chandelier 20 days after delivery - after it had been stored on a building site. You refused a straightforward replacement part that would have resolved the issue in minutes, and turned down a goodwill cash offer during mediation.

The reason you refused these solutions? You'd already purchased a replacement chandelier elsewhere before the case even concluded. You had no interest in resolution - you wanted to pursue a claim for money you'd already spent.

What you've also failed to mention is that you attempted to claim for a second, perfectly undamaged chandelier during proceedings. The judge scolded you for this. Hardly the behaviour of someone on the moral high ground, is it?

You've also refused to provide the invoice for your replacement chandelier, despite us requesting it multiple times. If you paid what you claimed, why wouldn't you simply provide it? Your reluctance invites obvious conclusions.

Yes, you won your case. But framing this as us refusing consumer rights when you never actually requested a return is disingenuous. You've chosen to share only the parts of the story that suit your narrative.

Most people would take their win and move on with their lives. The fact you're still here posting reviews says everything.

Delivery claimed to be 1-2 days. After a whole week I found out my order was only just being picked for dispatch! (there were no stock issues advised)

...waiting on delivery now - will update if / when the order turns up

I received quality products from this company but unfortunately two tiny parts were missing.
I emailed Customer Service and without question or delay they shipped the parts by courier to Ireland.
Exceptional communication and service.
I would highly recommend.
